WWE Hell In A Cell Results #WWE #HIAC

By @B_Rock1978

Hell In A Cell was live last night from Dallas, Texas. Two big main event matches inside the cell, as John Cena faced Randy Orton in one and Dean Ambrose faced Seth Rollins in the other. The WWE Intercontinental Championship, WWE World Tag Team Championship and WWE Divas Championship were also all on the line. Sadly, no WWE World Heavyweight Championship Match, as I'm sure Brock Lesnar was very busy at home, watching football and collecting his big part time worker paycheck. If you missed last night's show on WWE Network for only $9.99, then you came to the right place as I'm about to recap the card for you.

- The Hell In A Cell pregame show kicked off with MizdowTV.....yes you read that right, MizdowTV. The Miz's stunt double, Damien Sandow, hosted his own version of MizTV. The Miz is letting Sandow host the show out of the kindness of his heart. Sandow introduces The Miz as his guest. Miz talked about how he'll defeat Sheamus tonight and take home the United States Championship. Sandow says Miz is his inspiration, talks about all of Miz's accomplishments and considers Miz his best friend. Miz says Sandow is a damn good stunt double and he's proud to call Sandow his friend. Miz and Sandow share a manly hug as Sheamus appears on the titantron. Sheamus says Sandow should get on his knees and kiss Miz's ass goodbye and if this was a movie then he's going to give away the ending. Sheamus "brogue kicks" the camera.

- Mark Henry vs. Bo Dallas: Henry squashes Dallas with an avalanche in the corner and puts Dallas down with the "World's Strongest Slam" for the pinfall. Dallas throws a verbal temper tantrum after the match. Henry tosses Dallas into the ring barrier to shut him up.

- Backstage, Paige says she's going to take A.J. Lee's best friend away from her tonight, the WWE Divas Championship. Alicia Fox cuts a usual crazy promo too.

- Hell In A Cell goes live on the WWE Network and we kick things off with the WWE Intercontinental Championship Match.

- "WWE Intercontinental Championship, 2 Out of 3 Falls Match": Dolph Ziggler (c) vs. Cesaro: Nice back and forth wrestling between the two men early on. Both men score near falls on each other. Cesaro goes for the big swing but Ziggler counters with a rollup for a near fall. Cesaro grabs Ziggler for another big swing attempt, this time delivering. Cesaro gets a near fall after dropping Ziggler from the swing. Ziggler catches Cesaro with an inside cradle and scores the pinfall for the 1-0 lead. Cesaro attacks Ziggler before the second fall even begins, leaving the champ stunned in the corner. Cesaro scores a near fall with a running forearm. Cesaro scores near falls with a double stomp and a power bomb. Cesaro appeared to hurt his arm, Ziggler capitalizes by locking in a cobra clutch. Cesaro slams Ziggler into the corner and climbs the ropes with Ziggler still having the submission hold locked on. Cesaro lands a huge superplex on Ziggler, off the ropes for another near fall. Ziggler near fall with the famasser, Cesaro near fall with the European uppercut. Cesaro goes for "The Neutralizer" but Ziggler escapes, lands a super kick and the "zig zag". Ziggler covers and scores the pinfall to retain the WWE Intercontinental Championship, winning 2 falls to 0.

- "Loser Must Be Winner’s Personal Assistant": Brie Bella vs. Nikki Bella: Brie slaps Nikki and gets a one count. Brie gets a near fall with a backslide. Nikki hits an electric chair drop and beats Brie's head into the mat. Brie lands the running knee on Nikki. Nikki goes to the floor and we see Brie go to the air and leap out at Nikki, taking her out. Brie missile drop kick for a near fall. Nikki hits "shock treatment" for a near fall. Brie goes for the "yes lock" but Nikki gets to the ropes. Nikki catches Brie with a forearm and hits "shock treatment" again for the pinfall.

- "WWE World Tag Team Championship Match": Goldust and Stardust (c) vs. The Usos: Stardust works on Jey's leg, wrapping it around the ring post. The Rhodes Brothers tag in and out and work on Jey. Goldust cuts off Jey's hot tag to Jimmy. Stardust chokes Jey in the ropes. Jey finally makes the hot tag to Jimmy. Jimmy suicide dives on Goldust on the floor. Stardust takes a suicide dive next. Jimmy hits a flying body press and a samoan drop scoring near falls on both. Jimmy hits Goldust with a corner splash and a back splash for a near fall. Jimmy goes for a super kick but gets spun around and planted with a spine buster by Goldust for a near fall. Goldust gets dropped by Jimmy with an elbow off the ropes and a super kick for a near fall. The Usos hit double superplexes on the Rhodes Brothers. Stardust plants an Uso with the "crossrhodes" and scores the pinfall. The Rhodes Brothers retain the WWE World Tag Team Championship.

- "Hell In A Cell, #1 Contenders Match": John Cena vs. Randy Orton: Orton looks to send Cena into the cell wall early but Cena blocked. Orton lands a blow on Cena and sends him into the cell wall on attempt number two. Orton brings a steel chair into the ring, but gets taken out with a kick to the gut and a fisherman's suplex by Cena. Orton lands stomps on Cena, a chair shot to the chest and back and scores a near fall. Orton escapes an "AA" and plants Cena with a DDT for a near fall. Orton tosses Cena into the ring steps and uses the cell wall as a cheese grater on Cena's face. Orton poses for the crowd and almost gets pinned by a Cena clothesline. Orton scores a near fall with clotheslines of his own. Orton tosses Cena into the cell wall again and locks in a submission. Cena reaches SuperCena mode and starts his comeback. Orton blocks the five knuckle shuffle, however, and scores a near fall with the snapping power slam. Cena sends Orton back first into the cell. Orton low blows Cena by sending him groin first into the ring post. Orton hits his back breaker on Cena on the floor. Cena gets up on the apron and gets launched off and into the cell wall. Cena irish whips Orton into the cell walls. Cena pulls a table out from under the ring. Orton sends Cena into a wedged chair in the corner for a near fall. Cena blocks Orton's attempt at putting him through the table with a shoulder block. Cena charges at Orton but gets hit with the "RKO" outta nowhere. Orton covers but only gets a near fall. Orton sends Cena crashing through the table, covers and gets a near fall again. Orton goes for an "RKO" on the ring steps but Cena escapes, back body dropped and five knuckle shuffled Orton on the steps. Cena goes for "AA" but gets low blowed. Orton goes for the punt but Cena locks in the STF. Orton escapes by crawling to the floor. Cena chases Orton but gets sent into the ring post. Cena hits the "AA" but Orton kicks out. Cena goes for a press slam but Orton reverses it into an "RKO" for a near fall. Cena brings another table in and climbed the ropes. Orton gets up and goes for the "RKO" but Cena blocks and hits a "Super AA" off the ropes and sending Orton crashing through the table. Cena covers and scores the pinfall. Cena is again the #1 Contender to Brock Lesnar and the WWE World Heavyweight Championship.

- Backstage, Big Show is getting ready and tells Mark Henry he's going to knock out Rusev and do it for America, himself and for Henry.

- "WWE United States Championship Match": Sheamus (c) vs. The Miz (w/Damien Sandow): Sheamus went for the "ten beats" chest blows early, Miz avoids contact but gets dropped with a back breaker. Sheamus hits "ten beats" on the second attempt. Miz on the floor goes for a clothesline but Sheamus ducks causing Miz to hit Sandow. Later in the match Miz dives off the apron at Sheamus but gets caught and dropped with a samoan drop on the floor. Sheamus near fall with the "irish curse". Miz went for the "skull crushing finale" and the figure four leg lock but Sheamus blocked both. Sheamus loads up the "brogue kick" but Sandow jumps on the apron. Miz and Sheamus trade rollups with each other for near falls. Miz climbs the ropes and leaps off eating a "brogue kick" by Sheamus on the landing. Sheamus covers and scores the pinfall to retain the WWE United States Championship. Sheamus gave Miz one more "brogue kick" after the match for good measure.

- Backstage, Brie Bella's torture from her sister begins as Nikki dumps a smoothie over Brie's head then Nikki tells Brie to go get her another one.

- Big Show vs. Rusev (w/Lana): Rusev went after Show's knee early. Rusev worked on the leg and locked in a leg lock. Show tried to kick out with the other leg, but Rusev stopped Show's momentum and continued working on Show's leg. Rusev hit a drop kick and went for "The Accolade". Show reverses the hold into his own submission on Rusev. Rusev makes it to the ropes to break it. Show goes for the knock out punch but Rusev ducks. Show plants a perfect spear into Rusev. Show went for the choke slam on Rusev as Mark Henry makes his way to the ring. Rusev breaks free but gets caught again and driven to the mat with the choke slam. Show scores a near fall. Rusev tries to escape to the floor but Henry is right there. Henry gets Show's attention and tries to get Show pumped up. Rusev capitalized on the distraction and landed a kick on Show. Rusev lands a kick on Henry then locks Show in "The Accolade". The fans chanted "USA" to try to get Show to fight, but Show eventually taps out.

- Backstage, Dean Ambrose talks about his match with Seth Rollins tonight. Ambrose planned on taking Rollins to hell.

- "WWE Divas Championship Match": A.J. Lee (c) vs. Paige (w/Alicia Fox): Nice back and forth action early. Paige goes to the floor to regroup, A.J. follows and attacks, sending Paige into the apron. Fox and A.J. start fighting until Paige intervenes and tosses A.J. head first a few times into the ring barricade. Paige applies submission holds until A.J. fights back with a tornado DDT for a near fall. Paige lays A.J. out with a fall away slam then mocks A.J. by skipping around her body. Paige again sends A.J. into the ring barricade outside the ring. Paige climbs onto the barricade but A.J. knocks Paige off it, Paige bouncing off the floor. Paige almost gets counted out but her BFF, Fox, rolls her in the ring in time. Paige still confused from her fall from the barricade gets locked in the "black widow" by A.J. and Paige taps out. A.J. retains the WWE Divas Championship. After the match Paige knocks Fox out and tells her that she hates her.

- "Hell In A Cell Match": Seth Rollins vs. Dean Ambrose: Ambrose comes out, throws chairs in the ring and climbs on top of the cell with a kendo stick in hand. Rollins comes out with The Authority stooges, Joey Mercury and Jamie Noble and orders them to get Ambrose off the cell. Mercury and Noble climb to the top and immediately get lit up with Ambrose kendo stick shots. Rollins climbs on the cell and it's three on one now on Ambrose. Ambrose fights off the stooges and chases Rollins down the cell. Ambrose and Rollins get to the middle of the outside cell wall and begin trading blows. Ambrose and Rollins knock each other off the cell and fall halfway down, crashing through the announcers tables. WWE medical and EMT's rush to the ring and check on both men. Ambrose and Rollins are placed on stretchers and taken off as it looks like this match has ended before it could officially start. Halfway up the ramp, Ambrose gets off his stretcher and knocks Rollins off his stretcher. Ambrose tosses Rollins head first into the outside cell wall. Ambrose slams the door in Rollins face. Ambrose unloads on Rollins with chair shots in the ring. Ambrose tries stabbing Rollins with a screwdriver in the forehead. Ambrose drop kicks Rollins into the cell wall. Ambrose next hits the suicide dive, sending Rollins into the cell wall. Rollins gets a chair shot in and sets up a table wedged between the apron and the cell wall.
Ambrose knocks Rollins on the table then drives an elbow from the top rope onto Rollins, both men crashing through the table. Ambrose cheese grated Rollins face on the cell wall until, Kane, from outside the cell, shoots a fire extinguisher into Ambrose's eyes. Rollins power bombs Ambrose through a table. Rollins hits the "curb stomp" but Ambrose kicks out at two. Rollins goes for the "curb stomp" on his briefcase but Ambrose dodges it. Ambrose hits Rollins with the briefcase for a near fall. Ambrose brings in some cinder blocks and places Rollins' head on them. Ambrose sets Rollins up for his own version of the "curb stomp". The lights suddenly go out and the arena is pitch black. We hear some odd chanting in the darkness for a good minute. A lantern glows in the ring before we suddenly see Bray Wyatt attack Ambrose in the lantern glow. The lights come back up and we see Bray do his upside down, backwards spider walk before hitting Ambrose with a side slam. Rollins crawls over, covers Ambrose and scores the pinfall. Bray picks Ambrose up after the match and hits him with "Sister Abigail". Hell In A Cell ends with Bray Wyatt posing next to Ambrose's unconscious body.

And that was your Hell In A Cell recap. Matches of the night go to Ziggler vs. Cesaro and Rollins vs. Ambrose. Cena vs. Orton was a fairly good match as well.

Till next time, tap or snap.

On The Mark 10.27.14: #Browns & #Buckeyes Recap

Browns Do Their Job And Beat The Raiders 23-13
By @MarkW2112

The Cleveland Browns, coming off a very disappointing loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars last week, came back this Sunday and beat a team they were supposed.  The Oakland Raiders are a terrible team and the Browns were able to beat them 23-13 with just enough offense and a defense that continued to improve over the season. Brian Hoyer, Andrew Hawkins and Miles Austin were the stars on offense while Paul Krueger, Joe Haden and Donte Whitner were beasts on defense.

Hoyer, who did struggle again this week, was 19-of-28 for 259 yards and a touchdown.  Hawkins had his best game as a Brown, with 88 passing yards and a touchdown.  While the Raiders defense was able to keep the running game in tact, Ben Tate was able to rush for a touchdown after a fumble recovery within the red zone late in the game.  Billy Cunduff was 3-for-3 on field goal tries, which helped the Browns take a 9-6 lead in to halftime.

The defense were the real stars of the game.  Kruger sacked rookie Derek Carr 3 times, Donte Whitner made a punishing hit on running back Darren McFadden which caused a fumble that shot out of his arms in to Joe Haden's arms who returned it to the 50 yard line which lead to the Browns first touchdown of the game in the third quarter.  Speaking of Haden, he may have had his best game of the year, keeping pace with the receivers he covered and his fumble recovery was huge for the Browns to give them the momentum they needed.

My take: It wasn't pretty, but a wins a win.  The offensive line is struggling without Alex Mack but I do believe as time goes on it will get better once again.  The defense was just awesome tonight, allowing the only touchdown with 7 seconds left in the game during garbage time.  Derek Carr, who was 34-of-54 yards with a touchdown, has a bright future if he is put in to an offensive system that fits him with whoever is the new coach for the Raiders after this season.

Up next: The Browns face another winless team, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, next Sunday at home.

Penn State Puts Up A Fight, But Ohio State Prevails 31-24 In 2 OT

It's never easy playing in Happy Valley for the Buckeyes.  Especially during prime time games as the Penn State Nittany Lion fans bring the noise and "white out" the stadium.  It can be extremely intimidating for any team.  The Ohio State Buckeyes, especially freshman quarterback J.T. Barrett, seemed affected by it all night.  Yet somehow, the Buckeyes defense and Barrett during overtime came away with the victory 31-24 that went to 2 overtimes before the game ended on an incredible sack by Joey Bosa as he pushed running back Akeel Lynch in to Christian Hackenberg.

Urban Meyer and Tom Herman went with a conservative play calling scheme, which gave big yards to Ezekiel Elliot, who had 109 yards on 26 carries and a touchdown.  Barrett added 75 yards rushing and 2 touchdowns, both of which came during overtime.  However, Barrett had a bad game passing the ball, throwing for 79 yards, a touchdown, but 2 interceptions, one a pick 6 and the other which lead to a Penn State score that brought them to within 3 points of the Bucks, 17-14.  The defensive line of the Lions had a great game, busting up running plays, sacking Barrett and pressuring him all game.

The Buckeyes defense were the big stars of the game. Hackenberg did throw for 224 yards and a touchdown but was also intercepted twice, one of those by Eli Apple in the end zone and sacked .  It may have been their best all around game of the season.

My take: J.T. Barrett proved he still has a long way to go yet he proved himself when he needed to in overtime.  Joey Bosa might just be the best defensive lineman in college football and last night was another showcase for his extraordinary talent. Penn State deserves a ton of kudos for their defensive play and making plays on offense when needed.  The Lions fans definitely deserve credit for disrupting the rhythm of the Buckeyes offense all night.  They are definitely some of the best fans in college. But thankfully none of that mattered as the Buckeyes prevailed in the end.

Next game: back in Columbus against the surprising Illinois Illini for another prime time Saturday night game.

WWE Hell In A Cell Preview #WWE #HIAC

By @B_Rock1978

This year's Hell In A Cell takes place in Dallas, Texas. Two of tonight's matches will take place inside the devil's playground, known as the Hell In A Cell. The Hell In A Cell Match has been known to make or break a career and has been known to shorten careers. The following is tonight's official card for WWE Hell In A Cell.

- "Hell In A Cell Match": John Cena vs. Randy Orton: Cena and Orton renew their past rivalry, tonight inside the cell. Cena and Orton are the only men to have a one on one match against each other, inside the Hell In A Cell, twice. Randy Orton asked for the loser of the John Cena vs Dean Ambrose match a few weeks on RAW to face at Hell In A Cell. Cena lost the match and now gets to main event with Randy Orton. Orton won the first Hell In A Cell Match against Cena. Can Orton make it two in a row or will Cena take down "The Viper"?

- "Hell In A Cell Match": Seth Rollins vs. Dean Ambrose: Ambrose defeated John Cena to continue his rivalry with Seth Rollins. Ambrose and Rollins were once brothers along with Roman Reigns in The Shield. Rollins turned heel and decided to side with The Authority. Rollins almost ended Ambrose's career a few months back when he smashed a cinder block over Ambrose's head. Ambrose returned and has been on a mission to end Rollins' career. Many are speculating that this may very well be the show stealing match of the night.

- "WWE Intercontinental Championship, 2 Out of 3 Falls Match": Dolph Ziggler (c) vs. Cesaro Ziggler and Cesaro have been having a heated feud the past month and a half. Ziggler defeated Cesaro by pinfall, on an episode of Smackdown, however, Cesaro had the ropes but the referee missed it. Cesaro finally got another shot at Ziggler, after the botched call, but came up short again. Cesaro gets one more chance tonight in a classic 2 Out of 3 Falls Match.

- "WWE United States Championship Match": Sheamus (c) vs. The Miz: The Miz along with his Hollywood stunt double, Damien Sandow, has scored two non title victories over Sheamus. The Miz has become the #1 Contender in doing so and looks to bring the U.S. Title back to Hollywood. Sheamus looks to send Miz and his stunt double, Damien Sandow's, championship winning movie plot, into the trash can.

- "WWE World Tag Team Championship Match": Goldust and Stardust (c) vs. The Usos: The Usos get another rematch against The Rhodes Brothers for the tag team titles. The Rhodes Brothers look to hold onto their "cosmic keys" as The Usos look to become two time tag team champions.

- "WWE Divas Championship Match": A.J. Lee (c) vs. Paige: The battle of the crazies continues. A.J. and Paige will have yet another title match tonight. May the craziest lady win.

- Big Show vs. Rusev: Big Show challenged Rusev after Rusev defeated Show's best friend Mark Henry a few months back. Show has come close to defeating Rusev by pinfall on a few occasions, but has come up short, due to Rusev getting himself disqualified, or Henry getting involved. Mark Henry has promised Show that he will not get involved in this match. Show has made it his goal to hand Rusev his first loss by pinfall or submission.

- Brie Bella vs. Nikki Bella (Loser must become the winner's personal assistant): The twins finally settle their family issues in this one on one match. The loser will have to be the personal servant to the winner. Nikki turned on her sister, Brie, a few months back and has accused Brie of being a horrible sister to her growing up. Brie looks to finally shut her sister up and end her so called false accusations.

On paper this looks like a pretty good card. It will be missing the WWE World Heavyweight Championship Match, but I think the two main event Hell In A Cell Matches will make up for it. Granted John Cena and Randy Orton have fought each other about 100 times but they never disappoint. Dean Ambrose vs Seth Rollins and Dolph Ziggler vs Cesaro will be the show stealers. Rusev vs Big Show will probably be a typical big man match, where I see Rusev's unpinned and unsubmitted streak continuing. A.J. vs Paige won't disappoint. Sheamus vs The Miz is iffy. Damien Sandow will probably be the highlight of the match somehow. The Usos vs The Rhodes Brothers should be a decent tag match. And honestly I could care less about the Bella Twins match.

That my friends, is this year's Hell In A Cell pay per view. If you miss it on the WWE Network for only $9.99, have no fear because I will be back on Monday afternoon with the Hell In A Cell recap.

Till then, tap or snap.

The Weekend 3 Count: 10/20 - 10/26 #WWE #TNA #GFW

By @B_Rock1978

The Weekend 3 Count is brought to you by Triple Threat CLE.

*** Weekend Flashback ***
"Steel Cage Match": Claudio Castagnoli vs Brodie Lee (Cesaro vs Luke Harper) Chikara Wrestling 2008.

*** WWE News and Rumors ***

- Tonight is the WWE Hell In A Cell pay per view on WWE Network. WWE recently posted a video of their personally picked top ten most destructive moments in Hell in a Cell.

- There are rumors stating that Randy Orton may have been injured during Monday's RAW. Early in the match Dean Ambrose did a flying elbow off the announcers table onto The Authority. Orton was overheard telling a WWE medic at ringside that his ruptured disc in his back was f'ed. I'll be keeping an eye on this story.

- Undertaker news! Undertaker was at this week's NXT tapings and at the WWE performance center. According to the dead man himself he will be serving as WWE's advisor with the new talent, for a limited time.

- Bad News Barrett, who has been out of action with a separated shoulder, is expected to return to action in December.

- WWE Spanish broadcasting announcer Hugo Savinovich, who works behind the scenes with AAA Wrestling in Mexico, stated that Rey Mysterio is done with the WWE. Savinovich claims that Rey will return to AAA Wrestling once his current WWE contract expires.

- Will we be hearing "Devon get the table!!!" one more time in WWE? Rumors are circulating throughout the wrestling world that Team 3D...aka...The Dudley Boys, may be making a return to the WWE. The return would likely happen after their current planned out feud with NJPW's The Bullet Club faction. If this happens then 3D's for everyone!!!!

- Chris Jericho was asked a question on Twitter about whether or not he would be at Wrestlemania 31. Jericho's response was "Sorry..no"

- Former Ring of Honor World Champion, Kevin Steen, was present on a current NXT poster. This may be a sign that Steen may be debuting in NXT soon. The following is a ROH highlight package of Kevin Steen.

- Hulk Hogan was advertised to appear at RAW this past Monday, however, WWE chose not to use him on air. Hogan came out and did the trademark Hogan poses with John Cena after RAW went off the air.

- Mickie James return? Former WWE Women's Champion, Mickie James, recently mentioned that she is interested in a WWE return. James has been tweeting her interest to fan questions on Twitter. This would definitely breath some life into the Divas Division.

- Here's an interesting fun fact. At Hell In A Cell, A.J. Lee defends her WWE Divas Championship against Paige. Since June of 2013, either A.J. Lee or Paige, have been the only Divas to hold the WWE Divas Championship.

- NXT will be showing NXT Takeover 3: Our Evolution, on WWE Network on December 11th. The following matches have been signed so far:

- "NXT World Championship": Adrian Neville (c) vs. Sami Zayn (Zayn has to either win or quit).
- "NXT World Tag Team Championship": Sin Cara and Kalisto (c) vs. Aiden English and Simon Gotch
- "NXT Women's Championship": Charlotte Flair (c) vs. Sasha Banks
- The Ascension vs. Hideo Itami and Fin Balor

*** TNA News and Rumors ***

- Sources have said that TNA has enough tv tapings for Impact episodes to take them all the way up till November 19th. After that TNA plans to show best of highlights till the end of the year when their contract with Spike TV expires. Still no word on a new TV deal yet for TNA.

- Beast Mode Activated! Kurt Angle recently sent out a video of him in rehab, running on the treadmill. It is still unknown if Angle will be resigning with TNA or going to a different company. Angle has stated that 2015 will be his last year wrestling.

- TNA World Champion, Bobby Lashley, had his Bellator fight on Friday night. Lashley defeated Karl Etherington by stoppage in the first round. Here is the fight from Friday night.

- Snitsky has been making himself heard in the Twitter world. Fans have been asking Snitsky if he is returning to TNA again soon. Snitsky has been very vocal about TNA, stating they don't plan on using him anymore, so it's TNA's loss. Snitsky also tweeted out on Twitter #notmyfault and #snitskyequalsratings

- There were recent rumors going around that the "King of Controversy" Eric Bischoff and TNA were in the process of suing each other over contract issues. Neither party can talk about what is going on until Bischoff's current deal expires. What deal they are talking about is unknown.

- In TNA contract news, there have been rumors circulating that Samoa Joe's contract will be expiring soon. Joe has shown no signs of resigning with TNA.

*** GFW News and Rumors ***

- GFW may have found itself a home for its tv tapings. Sources close to Jeff Jarrett are stating that Jarrett is looking at Las Vegas as its tv taping home. The promotion is currently in negotiations with three different venues to partner with them to host potential TV tapings and live events.

- Ex-WWE superstar John Morrison made a comment recently stating that he was approached by TNA for a roster spot. Morrison also stated that he will be wrestling Jeff Jarrett on December 6th. Morrison expects Jarrett to offer him to join GFW. Morrison said that he is in a good place right now, currently wrestling for Lucha Underground and doesn't have any current plans of leaving.

And that is this week's news around professional wrestling. Join me every Sunday afternoon for your week in wrestling news. Till next time, tap or snap.

On The Mark 10.25.14: #Buckeyes Preview

By @MarkW2112

The Ohio State Buckeyes go in to Happy Valley to play Penn State Nittany Lions at 8 PM tonight for a prime time match up.  As Penn State does their traditional "white out" during big games with new coach James Franklin, the Buckeyes will concentrate on continuing their domination of all of the teams they've played since losing to Virginia Tech in week 2.

The Lions are coming off a bye week and will be pumped to play at home.  They are looking for big things from quarterback Christian Hackenberg and their defense to come up with a big game against J.T. Barrett and the Buckeyes explosive offensive.  If the crowd can be disruptive to the Bucks offense, it could be a long night on both sides of the ball.

My take: this will be the first of 2 big games for J.T. Barrett as he continues his Heisman candidate type season.  If he is able to continue his current pace, he could become the greatest freshman quarterback in Ohio State history.  But winning big games such as tonight and again in 2 weeks at Michigan State will prove his greatness.  The defense will need to play a bend, not break, type defense and try not to give up too many big plays to the Lions.  All in all we are in for a fun game tonight.

Prediction: Ohio State pulls it out once more, 52-31, white out and all, as the Buckeyes go for over 50 points for the fifth week in a row.

Wrestling Lockup with Brandon, 10.25.14: #Smackdown Results

By @B_Rock1978

Wrestling Lockup with Brandon brought to you by Triple Threat CLE. It's the Smackdown recap from last night's show. Last night's show consisted of Dolph Ziggler defending his WWE Intercontinental Championship against Cesaro. Final promos from Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins building up their Hell In A Cell Match. A six man tag match and a six diva tag match. All that and more. Recap time.

- Dean Ambrose says he keeps getting up when The Authority knock him down. All he cares about is getting his hands on Seth Rollins. Rollins appears on the titantron and calls Ambrose out and says Ambrose's future ends on Sunday. Ambrose says they might burn together but Rollins will perish.

- Los Matadores (w/El Torito) vs. The Miz and Damien Sandow: Sheamus is on commentary eyeing his opponent this Sunday, The Miz. Miz mocks Sheamus by hitting Diego with the "ten beats" clubbing chest blows. Diego scores a near fall on Miz with a somersault dive for a near fall. Diego tosses Sandow to the floor after Sandow tries to get involved. Diego goes for the "backstabber" on Miz but Miz grabs the ropes for the block. Miz locks in the figure four on Diego for the submission win.

- A.J. Lee vs Alicia Fox (w/ Paige): Fox gets a near fall after reversing an A.J. front facelock into a bridge. Paige jumps on the apron, distracting A.J.. A.J. goes after Paige but gets attacked from behind by Fox. A.J. pushes Fox into Paige then rolls Fox up from behind for the pinfall.

- Big Show is still bothered by the incident on RAW with Rusev thrust kicking an American Soldier. Show talks about everything he has done for the American Soldiers overseas and it inspires him. Show promises to knock Rusev's ass out on Sunday.

- "WWE Intercontinental Championship Match": Dolph Ziggler (c) vs. Cesaro: Near fall rollups for both men early. Ziggler applies the sleeperhold on Cesaro but Cesaro escapes. Cesaro reverses a Ziggler DDT into a spinning front slam for a near fall. Cesaro grabs Ziggler's legs and goes for the giant swing. Ziggler counters out and rolls Cesaro up for a near fall. Ziggler catches Cesaro with the "zig zag", covers and scores the pinfall, to retain the WWE Intercontinental Championship.

- "Six Diva Tag Team Match":
Nattie Neidhart, Brie Bella and Naomi vs. Nikki Bella, Cameron and Summer Rae:
Nikki hits "rack attack" on her sister, Brie, to score the pinfall for her team.

- "Six Man Tag Team Match": Mark Henry and The Usos vs. Bo Dallas, Goldust and Stardust: Henry goes for the "World's Strongest Slam" however, Stardust floats over. Both Rhodes Brothers end up on the floor where we next see "Air Uso", as the Uso's splash the Rhodes'. Bo Dallas lands the "Bo-Dog" on Henry and scores the pinfall for his team.

- Cesaro interrupts Dolph Ziggler's interview and challenges him to a two out of three falls match for the WWE Intercontinental Championship, this Sunday at Hell In A Cell. Ziggler accepts the challenge.

- Seth Rollins makes jokes about Dean Ambrose, goes over the weapons he can use on Sunday, calls himself a born winner and dares Ambrose to come out. Ambrose hits the ring, tackles Rollins and beats the holy hell out of Rollins. Jamie Noble and Joey Mercury run out and it's now three on one on Ambrose. Ambrose fights back on the two Authority stooges as Rollins runs for his life. Ambrose with "Dirty Deeds" on Noble. Ambrose sets up some furniture, points at Rollins who's on the stage watching and ends Smackdown by climbing the ropes and landing big elbow drops, putting Mercury and Noble both through tables.

And that's this week's Smackdown, till next time, tap or snap.

Around the B1G with K8 10.23.14 #B1G #BigTen

The B1G Power Rankings are out and - WOW - there's some new faces in the Top Five...

5. Maryland Terrapins: The Might Turtles are looking (relatively) good! At 5-2 overall and 2-1 in the
WR Stefon Diggs, MAR
conference, their addition to the B1G has been pretty successful for them. While they are trying to be the New Oregon with their fancy uniforms and their new deal with UnderArmor, they actually have a decent football team. And maybe I think they look more like NASCAR Drivers then they should, QB CJ Browns is ready to step back in vs Iowa this week. The Buckeyes had his number on Saturday so he was benched in the 2nd half for Caleb Rowe but don't think that means anything. Head Coach Randy Edsell still has faith in him and he'll be back under center this weekend.

4. Minnesota Golden Gophers: They lead the Western Division at 6-1, 3-0, and boast Defensive Player of the Week Cedric Thompson & Special Teams Player of the Week Ryan Santoso as belonging to them. Hitting crucial field goals (52 yarder!) and making interceptions that seal a victory are definitely a recipe for success. And frankly, they have no real challenges on the schedule until they face Ohio State on 11/15.

RB Ameer Abdullah, NEB
3. Nebraska Cornhuskers: largely overlooked (by me) they're putting together a nice season, 6-1,2-1,
right behind Minnesota. It's that one conference loss that hurts them. Ameer Abdullah is still the King, rushing for yet another 100-yard game and is on pace to see over 1,000 yards this season.

2. Ohio State Buckeyes: you know it's crazy but each game we score 50+ points in make me even more pissed off about that loss to Va-Tech. I know, I need to get over it, but still... JT Barrett looking better and better each week. A few tough games on the horizon but they may overtake Sparty yet!

AND....

No Surprise Here...

1. Michigan State Spartans: preseason favorites, still looking good. They've got inner-state rival Michigan this weekend so I'm predicting they'll improve to 7-1, 4-0. Head Coach Mark Dantonio seems to think he works for OSU and is trying to create a huge rivalry out of this game. Yes, they've won 5 of the last 6 meetings, but as we all know, kicking someone's butt every single year does not really make it a rivalry....  Then again, the whole world is UM's rival this season and it's still sad.

Respectfully Submitted,

Cleveland Kate

Wrestling Lockup with Brandon, 10.23.14: TNA Impact

By @B_Rock1978

Wrestling Lockup with Brandon, brought to you by Triple Threat CLE. It's the TNA Impact recap from last night's show. Impact took place from Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. Some highlights of last night's show consisted of the first round of the Tag Team Tournament to crown new #1 Contenders to The Wolves' TNA World Tag Team Championship. Bram meets Devon one on one in a "Street Fight Match". Bobby Roode and Bobby Lashley go face to face one week before their TNA World Title Match, as they officially sign their contract, to meet one on one. All this and more, let's get to the recap.

- "#1 Contenders Tag Team Tournament": The Hardy Boys vs. The BroMans: Matt and Jeff hit "poetry in motion" on Jesse and Zema early in the match. The Hardys double team Zema with an elbow and Jeff hits a splash for a near pinfall. Jeff scores another near fall with the jawbreaker mule kick combo on Zema. Zema gets in some offense and tags in Jesse but Jesse gets hit with the split-legged leg drop by Jeff for a near fall. Jeff hits "whisper in the wind" then goes for a "twist of fate". Jesse escapes by shoving Jeff into the ropes. Matt blind tagged in without Jesse seeing it and hits "twist of fate" on Jesse. Jeff climbs the ropes and "swanton bombs" his way to a pinfall on Jesse.

- Bram brags about taking Abyss out of action and is targeting Devon next. Devon hits the ring and brawls with Bram. TNA Security break up the brawl and Kurt Angle announces Bram vs Devon in a "Street Fight Match" later tonight.

- "#1 Contenders Tag Team Tournament": Low Ki and Samoa Joe vs. Samuel Shaw and Gunner: Brittany makes her way out to the ring and begins arguing with Shaw. Gunner and Shaw try to get offense in but Shaw continues to be distracted by Brittany at ringside, who continues to yell at Shaw. Gunner tells Brittany to hit the road, then gets kicked in the head by Low Ki and power slammed by Joe for a near fall. Gunner fights back on Joe after Joe puts Gunner in the corner. Brittany reaches in and grabs Gunner's leg, distracting Gunner. Low Ki kicks Gunner again and Joe locks in the "coquina clutch" forcing Gunner to tap out. After the match Gunner yells at Brittany and again tells her to get lost and leave Shaw alone. Shaw turns on Gunner, as he unloads on Gunner with a steel chair shot. Shaw gets a few more steel chair shots in on Gunner before making out with Brittany.

- MVP accuses Kurt Angle of using Bobby Roode to get vengeance on Bobby Lashley. Kenny King says he and MVP are going to kick ass and win the TNA World Tag Team Championship.

- Rebel vs. Angelina Love: Rebel is in the ring awaiting Love, when out comes the TNA Knockouts Champion, the monster, Havok. Havok attacks Rebel, hits a leg drop and lays Rebel out with a slam to the canvas. Gail Kim hits the ring and lands a few hits to Havok, sending Havok to the floor. Havok throat tosses Gail Kim down on the ramp. Havok and Gail Kim trade punches with each other until TNA Security make the save and pull the ladies apart.

- Kurt Angle says the stakes in the Bobby Roode/Bobby Lashley TNA World Title Match will be huge in the big announcement he'll make for it later during the contract signing.

- "Street Fight Match": Bram vs. Devon: Bram goes after Devon with the turn buckle piece weapon. Devon clotheslines Bram on the floor and chucks a water bottle at Bram. Devon tosses Bram head first into the ring steps then lands a trash can lid shot. Devon lands a one-man con-chair-to on Bram then hits Bram in the corner with a trash can. Bram hits Devon with the trash can then wedged it in the corner. Devon throws Bram head first into the wedged can then drives the can into Bram's family jewels. Magnus comes out and hits Devon with a kendo stick setting Bram up to smack Devon in the head with the turn buckle piece. Bram covers and scores the pinfall.

- "#1 Contenders Tag Team Tournament": Mr. Anderson and Chris Melendez vs. MVP and Kenny King: Melendez hits a couple clotheslines on King then hooks the fisherman's suplex for a near fall. Melendez goes for the fireman's carry on King but MVP breaks it up. Anderson and Melendez double team MVP, but King sneaks in from behind and rolls up Melendez, holding Melendez's tights for the pinfall.

- The Wolves want the best competition TNA can offer. Davey Richards bumps into James Storm and Storm wants Richards to see "the beauty of a revolution".

- "#1 Contenders Tag Team Tournament": Ethan Carter III and Tyrus vs. Eric Young and Rockstar Spud: Spud wants ECIII to start but Tyrus tags in. Spud holds his own and takes down Tyrus. Tyrus misses a splash but Spud can't tag out, as Tyrus takes out EY. ECIII finally tags in and smacks Spud around until Spud fires back. Spud makes the hot tag and EY unloads on Tyrus and ECIII. EY lands the top rope elbow on ECIII for the near fall. EY takes out ECIII and Tyrus with a suicide dive, then Spud follows with a senton bomb. Spud looks to close out the match, but instead gets choked half unconscious by Tyrus, allowing ECIII to score the pinfall.

- Kurt Angle introduces Bobby Roode and Bobby Lashley. Roode says he loves wrestling, last time Lashley was the better man, but Roode knows he can beat Lashley. MVP cuts in and talks up Lashley and brags about Lashley destroying everything in his path. Angle announces that next week, it'll be Bobby Lashley defending the TNA World Title against Bobby Roode. MVP and Kenny King are banned from ringside and Kurt Angle will serve as the special guest referee. Bobby Roode signs the contract first. MVP says this isn't happening. Bobby Lashley ignores MVP and signs the contract to make the match official. Impact closes out with Roode and Lashley staring each other down and Lashley raising the TNA World Title over his head.

And that's a wrap my friends. Till next time, tap or snap.

-Georgia running back Todd Gurley applied to have his eligibility reinstated yesterday to the NCAA. Gurley was suspended indefinitely by Georgia after allegations that Gurely accepted payments in exchange for autographs for several memorabilia dealers in the area. The university has completed their internal investigation and has turned their findings into the NCAA, along with the proper paperwork to have Gurley reinstated. According to a source that is familiar with the situation, said the process of the eligibility commitee usually has a ruling within 24 hours. UGA can also appeal the ruling if the commitee does not reinstate Gurley.

Here is the statement that the University of Georgia released:

Since completing its initial review of the eligibility matter involving UGA student-athlete Todd Gurley on October 9, the University has been supporting Todd and cooperating with his legal counsel as they review the matter.
Todd has confirmed his desire to seek reinstatement, and the University fully supports Todd’s request. The University plans to file the necessary paperwork with the NCAA later today.
“I want to thank the University, coaches, teammates, and the Bulldog Nation for their patience and support,” Gurley said. “I take full responsibility for the mistakes I made, and I can’t thank the University, my coaches, and teammates enough for supporting me throughout this process. I’m looking forward to getting back on the field with my teammates.”
Gurley’s attorney, William King, said, “Todd has taken responsibility for his actions and is ready to rejoin his teammates. The University has been great throughout the past two weeks and has done everything it can to support Todd. I would especially like to thank President Morehead, Greg McGarity, and Coach Richt for standing by Todd.”
The University hopes for and expects a prompt ruling by the NCAA so that Todd, his coaches, and teammates can adequately prepare for our next game.

-The Cleveland Cavaliers have the hottest ticket at home and also the hottest ticket on the road. Cavs road games are averaging $411.17 per ticket, which is $130.00 more than any other road teams.

-Student athletes at the University of Texas can expect a $10,000 pay raise. Texas will spend a extra $6 million dollars per year to comply with a string of recent legal rulings requiring colleges to be more "GENEROUS" to scholarship athletes. This money is supposed to be used to cover expenses that aren't covered by a traditional full scholarship. Each player will receive $5,000 in compensation to cover for the university's use of his/hers player likeness/image. Does this mean a return of the NCAA video games that started all of this?

-After a 7-1 loss in the opening game of the World Series, the Kansas City Royals wore the crown in Game 2 with their 7-2 victory over the San Francisco Giants. Tied at 2 going into the bottom of the 6th, the Royals exploded for 5 runs, sparked by the bat of Salvador Perez. Perez knocked home a two-run double in that 6th inning off of Giants reliever Hunter Strickland. We officially have a series now, with both teams dealing out some big time run support. Yordano Ventura started for the Royals, giving them 5.1 innings while surrendering 8 hits and 2 earned runs. Game 3 will be Friday night in San Francisco with the series tied at 1 game apiece.
