This week's NXT saw Nikki Cross battle Kennedy Lewis in one on one Women's Division action. Roderick Strong battled Steve Cutler in one on one action. Tye Dillinger decides on where he should go next with his career. TM61 battled The Revival in tag team division action. Shinsuke Nakamura and Bobby Roode met face to face in their contract signing for the NXT World Championship at Takeover: San Antonio.

- Nikki Cross vs. Kennedy Lewis: The match closes out with Nikki making very quick work of Kennedy, scoring the pinfall with a spinning neck breaker. Winner: Nikki Cross, by pinfall.
- Backstage, No Way Jose says he'll be the same fun loving guy in 2017 like he was in 2016. Kona Reeves interrupts and blames Jose for not helping him when he got jumped by SAnitY. Reeves and Jose decide to settle things in the ring soon.
- Backstage, The Revival state that 2017 will be another great year for them and they should be getting tag team title shots. TM61 interrupt and tell The Revival they had their chances and need to earn them again like everyone else.
- Roderick Strong vs. Steve Cutler: The match closes out with Cutler hitting a running stomp on Strong for a near fall. Strong escapes a rear naked choke and unloads a series of forearms on Cutler. Strong hits a running knee on Cutler and then scores the pinfall after a Sick Kick. Winner: Roderick Strong, by pinfall.
- Backstage, Ember Moon says she wants her shot at the NXT Women's Championship after NXT Takeover: San Antonio. Liv Morgan interrupts and says she wants a shot too. Liv suggests a match against Ember with the winner going after the title. Ember accepts the challenge.
- Tye Dillinger Promo: Dillinger asks himself what is next and the fans chant "Royal Rumble, Number 10". Dillinger questions his talents and gives thanks to those around him. SAnitY suddenly interrupts and heads out to the NXT ramp. Eric Young says Dillinger doesn't have it anymore, but could have it all again if he joins them. Wolfe gives Dillinger a SAnitY jacket, but Dillinger throws it away. Young gets in the ring and tries to talk some sense into Dillinger's career choice and then says he's not asking Dillinger to join...he's demanding him to join. Dillinger accepts the jacket, but then throws it down, throws up a ten signal and blasts Young in the mouth. Dillinger goes for the Perfect Ten on Young, but Big Damo suddenly hits the ring and spears Dillinger. SAnitY leave Dillinger laid out and Damo accepts the jacket and joins the faction.
- TM61 vs. The Revival: The match closes out with The Revival hitting Shatter Machine on Thorne. Miller hits the ring and cleans house on The Revival. Wilder catches Miller and plants him with a spine buster. The Revival go for Shatter Machine on Miller, but Thorne knocks down Wilder. Miller small packages Dawson and scores the pinfall. After the match, The Revival attack and beat down Thorne and Miller. The Revival destroy Thorne's knee and leave him in pain as NXT medical check on him. Winners: TM61, by pinfall.
- NXT World Championship Contract Signing: NXT GM William Regal, NXT World Champion Shinsuke Nakamura and Bobby Roode all meet in the ring. Roode says this match will be a huge money match for NXT. Roode says that Nakamura is the king of strong style, but he really has no style and then insults Nakamura's haircut and clothes. Nakamura calls Roode a Japanese dog and makes fun of Roode's suits. Roode calls Japan the land of zero talent and Roode claims to be the "It Factor of Sports Entertainment". Roode says that when he wins the NXT World Championship it'll be..... Nakamura cuts off Roode and says he looks good but he will never win the NXT World Championship. Nakamura promises to kick off Roode's head at Takeover: San Antonio and THAT will be GLORIOUS. The contract is signed and Roode and Nakamura go face to face to end the show.

This week's NXT was a special taped two hour event from NXT's live show in Melbourne, Australia. The Revival battled Tino Sabbatelli and Riddick Moss in tag team action. Bobby Roode and Elias Samson teamed up to battle Tye Dillinger and Buddy Murphy in tag team action. Ember Moon battled Liv Morgan and Billie Kay in a Triple Threat Match. NXT World Tag Team Champions #DIY defended the titles against TM61. NXT World Champion Shinsuke Nakamura defended the title against Samoa Joe in a Steel Cage Match in the main event.

- The Revival vs. Tino Sabbatelli and Riddick Moss: The match closes out with Sabatelli hot tagging in and cleaning house. Moss tags back in and goes for the finisher, but Wilder stops it. The Revival sneak a blind tag after an atomic drop and hit their Shatter Machine finisher to score the pinfall. Winners: The Revival, by pinfall.
- Bobby Roode and Elias Samson vs. Tye Dillinger and Buddy Murphy: The match closes out with Murphy hot tagging and cleaning house. Murphy unloads forearms, clotheslines and a double knee from the top rope. Murphy connects with a hurracanrana on Roode and then suicide dives onto Roode as Roode tries to escape outside. Dillinger and Samson both tag in which leads to Dillinger hitting the Tye Breaker and scoring the pinfall. Winners: Tye Dillinger and Buddy Murphy, by pinfall.
- "Triple Threat Match": Ember Moon vs. Billie Kay vs. Liv Morgan: The match closes out with Billie unloading chops on Liv and Ember, but both return with chops on Billie. Ember hits a cross body on on Liv, suplexes Billie and then kips back to her feet. Ember goes for the O Face Stunner, but Liv cuts Ember off on the ropes. Billie comes in next and power bombs Liv into the mat. Liv turns around and walks right into a flying Ember who connects with the O Face Stunner and scores the pinfall. Winner: Ember Moon, by pinfall.
- "NXT World Tag Team Championship Match": #DIY (c) vs. TM61: The match closes out with all four men brawling. Ciampa lands a power bomb into a back breaker on Thorne and gets a near fall after Miller breaks things up. Miller and Gargano trade punches back and forth. Miller ducks a roll through kick and drops Gargano with a deadlift sit down power bomb for a very close near fall. Gargano is able to hot tag Ciampa. Ciampa nails a boot and DIY hit their double team finisher to score the pinfall and retain their tag team titles. After the match, both teams show respect with a handshake. Winners: #DIY, by pinfall, to retain the NXT World Tag Team Championship.
- "NXT World Championship, Steel Cage Match": Shinsuke Nakamura (c) vs. Samoa Joe: The match closes out with Nakamura looking for a way to escape the cage over the top, but Joe meets him there. Joe takes control and sets Nakamura up for a Super Muscle Buster, but Nakamura counters and drives Joe into the mat with a Super Power Bomb. Nakamura springboards off the ropes and drills Joe with a Kinshasa, busting Joe open. Nakamura goes to exit the cage door, but changes his mind and slams the door shut. Nakamura measures Joe and drills him with a second Kinshasa. Joe staggers back to his feet one more time and Nakamura seals the pinfall victory with a third Kinshasa on Joe to retain the title. Winner: Shinsuke Nakamura, by pinfall, to retain the NXT World Championship.

NXT Takeover took place at the Air Canada Centre in Toronto, Ontario, Canada and kicked off WWE's huge four nights of wrestling weekend that runs from NXT Takeover, through WWE Survivor Series and into RAW and Smackdown Live, concluding on Tuesday night. Last night's show brought us two plus hours of NXT action. The Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic Tournament came to an end as the Authors of Pain battled TM-61 in the Finals. The AOP's manager, the legendary Paul Ellering, was locked in a shark cage and hung from the ceiling to avoid any interference from Ellering. "Mr. Perfect Ten" Tye Dillinger looked for revenge on "GLORIOUS" Bobby Roode as they met one on one. The NXT World Tag Team Championship was on the line as the champions, The Revival, aka Dawson and Wilder, defended against DIY, aka Ciampa and Gargano, in a 2 Out of 3 Falls Match. NXT Women's Champion Asuka defended her title against former WWE Women's and Divas Champion Mickie James. In the main event, NXT World Champion Shinsuke Nakamura defended his title against former champion Samoa Joe.
NXT Takeover: Toronto featured Parkway Drive's "Devil's Calling" as one of the theme songs for the event. All that know me know that it's all about the Rock and Metal music! Enjoy and thanks for reading my recap!

- NXT Takeover: Toronto kicks off with a video package highlighting the son of a plumber himself, The late great "American Dream" Dusty Rhodes. The Finals of the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic Tournament, that was created last year to honor Dusty, will take place at Takeover.
- Bobby Roode vs. Tye Dillinger: Talk about a great entrance, Bobby Roode's "Glorious" theme song was sung by a choir on the NXT stage. The match closes out with Dillinger going for the Tye Breaker, but Roode sees it coming and runs. Dillinger chases Roode, but walks right into a Roode spinebuster. Roode drops Dillinger off the ropes with a superplex for a near fall and then taunts Dillinger. Roode pulls down his knee pad, goes for Dillinger's own Tye Breaker finisher, but Dillinger counters. Roode counters back and tries to cheat by rolling up Dillinger with his feet on the ropes for leverage, but gets busted by the referee. Dillinger with a near fall super kick on Roode and then both men trade punches. Roode counters the Tye Breaker, Dillinger counters the Roode DDT and then traps Roode in the Sharpshooter submission. Roode reaches the ropes and then small packages Dillinger, but Dillinger reverses into a near fall package of his own. Roode shoves Dillinger shoulder first into the ring post and finally hits the Roode DDT to score the pinfall. After the match, the fans give Dillinger a "Standing 10 Chant" and Dillinger says he's sorry for not winning. Winner: Bobby Roode, by pinfall.
- "Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic Tournament Finals": Authors of Pain vs. TM-61: The Authors of Pain's manager Paul Ellering was locked inside a shark cage and suspended above the ring to keep any outside shenanigans from happening from the legendary manager. The match closes out with Miller making the hot tag, slams Rahzar, suplexes Akum and then comes back and suplexes Rahzar. Miller hits a perfect moonsault for a near fall. Thorne and Miller set up Rahzar and Akum in seperate corners for ten punches, but the AOP counter both and try to drop TM-61 with power bombs. TM-61 counter that and put down AOP with double hurracanranas. TM-61 double team Rahzar and hit the Thunder Valley, but Akum breaks up the pinfall. Rahzar gets tossed outside and TM-61 hit double team suicide dives.
It's raining weapons, as Paul Ellering drops a chain down from his cage to Akum. Akum swings at Miller, misses and the chain goes flying. Akum scoops up Miller and plants him with a spinebuster. AOP hit the Last Chapter on Thorne and score the pinfall, to take the tournament. After the match, Triple H, NXT GM William Regal and Dustin Rhodes present the Authors of Pain with the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic Trophy. Winners: Authors of Pain, by pinfall, to win the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic Tournament.
- "NXT World Tag Team Championship, 2 Out of 3 Falls Match": The Revival (c) vs. DIY: ** First Fall: Gargano and Dawson both tag in, Gargano plants a kick to the face on Dawson and then takes Dawson over with a belly to belly. Gargano drops both Dawson and Wilder with a bulldog and running clothesline combo. Gargano goes for a slingshot spear, but Dawson catches and holds Gargano in mid-air. Dawson and Wilder hit the Shatter Machine on Gargano, score the pinfall and take the 1-0 lead.
** Second Fall: Gargano hot tags Ciampa in and Ciampa unloads on The Revival. Dawson misses a clothesline and Ciampa goes Brock Lesnar on Dawson with three straight German suplexes. Ciampa hits the knee trembler on Dawson for a near fall. The Revival set up Gargano for a spike piledriver, but Ciampa flies in and makes the save with a cross body block. DIY set up and drop Dawson with the running knee, super kick combo, score the pinfall and tie things at 1-1.
** Final Fall: The Revival mock and go for DIY's double team finisher, but DIY counter and they hit The Revival's own Shatter Machine finisher on Wilder. The referee gets distracted by Ciampa, but he still catches Dawson coming in illegally. Wilder tosses Ciampa into the ring post and then chop blocks Gargano. Wilder goes for a backslide pinfall, but Gargano counters it into a modified cross face submission. Dawson tries to make the save, but Ciampa catches Dawson and locks him in a modified Rings of Saturn submission. Dawson and Wilder both tap out and we have new NXT World Tag Team Champions Winners: DIY, 2 Falls to 1, to win the NXT World Tag Team Championship.
- "NXT Women's Championship Match": Asuka (c) vs. Mickie James: The match closes out with Asuka missing a hip attack, but unloads on Mickie with kicks. Mickie smiles and begs for more. Asuka misses a kick to the head and Mickie traps Asuka in a single leg crab submission. Asuka tries to escape, but Mickie counters her submission into the Muta Lock submission. Asuka finally escapes and trades strikes with Mickie. Asuka misses a spinning back fist and Mickie connects with a smack across the face. Asuka misses another strike and Mickie hits a neck breaker on the champ. Mickie hits a flap jack and then a whoopie cushion on Asuka for a near fall. Asuka locks in a cross arm breaker submission, but Mickie reaches the ropes.
Mickie connects with the Mickie Kick, but Asuka gets the foot on the ropes to stop the pinfall. Mickie goes for a jumping DDT, but Asuka counters it into the Asuka Lock submission. Mickie escapes and turns it into a near fall roll up. Asuka reapplies the Asuka Lock submission on Mickie and is able to lock it in tight on the second try. Mickie fights, but finally taps out. After the match, Mickie goes to shake Asuka's hand, but Asuka snubs Mickie and raises up her title in victory. Winner: Asuka, by submission, to retain the NXT Women's Championship.
- "NXT World Championship Match": Shinsuke Nakamura (c) vs. Samoa Joe: The match closes out with Joe and Nakamura trading elbow strikes with each other, until Nakamura finally drops Joe with a huge elbow strike to the face. Joe counters out of an inverted exploder, but Nakamura is able to go behind Joe and hit a german suplex. Joe counters the Kinshasa, takes out Nakamura’s knees and picks Nakamura up for the Muscle Buster. Nakamura counters out, hits the Kinshasa and gets a near fall. Nakamura tries a second Kinshasa, but Joe counters and traps Nakamura in the Coquina Clutch submission.
Nakamura escapes, but gets dropped by a Joe Chimera-plex and barely kicks out at two and a half. Joe misses a punch on Nakamura, gets cracked with another Kinshasa to the back of the head and it sends Joe crashing outside. Nakamura goes after Joe outside, but Joe kicks Nakamura below the belt and then Uranage suplexes Nakamura into the steel steps. The referee completely missed the low blow, as Joe hits Nakamura with the Muscle Buster, scores the pinfall and becomes a 2 time NXT World Champion. Winner: Samoa Joe, by pinfall, to win the NXT World Championship.
And with that, that closed out another great NXT Takeover.

Dillinger unloads a series of clotheslines on Blake, does the perfect ten stops in the corner, hits a Russian leg sweep and finishes Blake off with the Tye Breaker for the pinfall. Winner: Tye Dillinger, by pinfall.
- Austin Aries is interviewed and he says he's sick of everyone interrupting him. First it was Baron Corbin, then No Way Jose, now Hideo Itami. Aries promises to teach Itami a lesson.
- Bayley is interviewed and talks about winning her first NXT Women's Championship, having the chance to do it again and her body giving out the first time against Asuka. New comer Ember Moon interrupts and tells Bayley she took Asuka to the limit, Bayley is the reason Moon is here and then thanks Bayley.
- The Revival are interviewed and tell everyone that they proved that they are the greatest tag team in NXT history.
- TM61 vs. The Authors of Pain: The match closes out with AOP 1 going for a power bomb on Thorne, but Thorne counters and hits an enziguri. Miller tags in and hits AOP 1 with a clothesline and then knocks AOP 2 off the apron. Miller gets a near fall cross body block off the top rope. TM61 hit a clothesline/leg sweep. Thorne gets pulled outside by AOP 2 and AOP 1 hits a spine buster on Miller. The Authors Of Pain hit power bombs on Miller and Thorne and then finish Miller off with their double team finisher for the pinfall. Winners: Authors Of Pain, by pinfall.
