On The Mark 10.13.14: #Browns Recap

NOT The "Same Old Browns" as Cleveland Destroys Pittsburgh, 31-10
By @MarkW2112

You read it right.  This is NOT the Same Old Browns.  This is a new team and new attitude as the Browns decimate the Pittsburgh Steelers 31-10 in a game that was never really close after the second quarter.

The Steelers were able to get on the board first, 3-0 while the Browns offense seemed to struggle to get off the ground, having -8 yards in the first quarter.  But once the second quarter rolled around, Brian Hoyer and the offense got on a roll and didn't stop.  With big time plays to Miles Austin and a bomb to Jordan Cameron, the Browns scored the first TD of the game in the second quarter on a 5 yard touchdown run by Isaiah Crowell to make it 7-3.  After getting the ball back on downs from the Steelers, Hoyer connected to Cameron again on a 51 yard touchdown pass to make it 14-3.  Ben Tate scored his first of two touchdowns of the game later in the second quarter to make it 21-3 before halftime.

It appeared the Steelers just couldn't get it going on offense with the Browns defense finally stepping up amid injuries to Phil Taylor and, during the game, to his replacement Armonty Bryant.  Even without them along with an inactive Ahtyba Rubin, the Browns were able to keep everything in front of them with Buster Skrine and Joe Haden having their best games of the year.  In fact, it may have been the defenses best all around game this year.

As great as the Browns offense was, the biggest blow to the team was the possible loss of Alex Mack to a broken leg.  He had to carted off the field and appeared to be in tremendous pain.  Mack had played every game as a Cleveland Brown since he was drafted in 2009.  While it would appear to be a huge loss, John Greco came in and performed admirably in his place even though he has never played a game at center (only during practice).

Hoyer, Tate, Cameron and Crowell were the offensive stars of the game.  Even though Hoyer only went 8-for-17, he did throw 217 yards and a touchdown with a 93.6 QBR according to ESPN.com.  Tate ran for 78 yards and 2 TD's, Crowell 77 yards and a TD and Cameron 3 catches for 102 yards and a touchdown.

My take: This team has taken on the personality of its tough as nails head coach Mike Pettine.  It was a team effort all of the way around.  Hoyer is the leader at QB the Browns have desperately searching for since 1999 and while Mack's loss is tough, the o-line performed well without him.  The defense seems to finally be gelling together even with the losses of A. Bryant and Phil Taylor.  The depth on the team should keep them playing at a high level.

Next up for the Browns: in Jacksonville against a very bad Jaguars team.  The Browns, however, should not take them lightly.  And I don't anticipate they will.

TNA Bound For Glory Preview #TNA #BFG

By @BSA1978

TNA Bound For Glory, taking place at the Korakuen Hall in Tokyo, Japan. This event is TNA's first ever pay per view to take place in Japan. TNA partnered with Japan's Wrestle-1 organization to make this pay per view possible. There will be a nice mixer of TNA and W-1 talent on tonight's card. TNA will not be defending the TNA World Title on tonight's card which is always a staple for pay per view cards. TNA and W-1 have promised to deliver with the TNA talent we know and get a look at some of what Japan has to offer with their W-1 talent. Here is tonight's card:

- The Great Muta and Yoshihiro Tajiri vs James Storm and The Great Sanada: James Storm insulted The Great Muta, calling him a horrible mentor towards Sanada. Sanada defended Muta's honor only to turn on his mentor and join with Storm. Storm created his own stable of men, has trained them as his own students and re-debuted Sanada as The Great Sanada. Yoshihiro Tajiri arrived in TNA to join in the battle, siding with his friend Muta. This match is being advertised in Japan as the main event.

- Team 3D's TNA Hall of Fame induction ceremony: One of the greatest tag teams in wrestling history will be inducted into the TNA Hall of Fame, Team 3D, Bully Ray and Devon. Counting ECW, WCW, WWE, TNA and New Japan, Team 3D are 23 time World Tag Team Champions. Like I said one of the greatest tag teams of all time!

- "Hardcore Match": Tommy Dreamer and Abyss vs. Team 3D: After Team 3D is enshrined in the TNA Hall of Fame, they will get hardcore. Team 3D will take on their best friend and fellow ECW alumni, Tommy Dreamer and his partner TNA's king of hardcore, Abyss.

- "TNA X-Division Championship": Samoa Joe vs. Low Ki vs. Kaz Hayashi: The first of two title defenses on the card. The Samoan Submission Machine, Samoa Joe renews his rivalry with a man that he's had many wars with, Low Ki. Mixed in is W-1's own, Kaz Hayashi. Hayashi is a two time New Japan World Junior Heavyweight Champion and is looking to add his first TNA X-Division Championship to his resume.

- Ethan Carter III vs Ryota Hama: ECIII claims to have done it all and beaten all the legends who have stood in his way. Hama an ex-sumo wrestler is next up for ECIII to face. Hama was the fastest to win Japan's Triple Crown Championship. Hama looks to continue his wrestling legacy, ECIII looks to continue to make a name for himself by defeating an ex-sumo wrestler.

- "TNA Knockouts Championship": Havok (c) vs Velvet Sky: The second TNA title match will see the Knockouts in action. Havok, has been destroying every knockout to get in her path, even putting down former champ, Gail Kim, with a separated shoulder. Velvet Sky of the Beautiful People looks to finally derail the Havok Express and take home the title.

- MVP vs. Kazma Sakamoto: The biggest mouth in TNA, MVP, is in singles action tonight. Kazma Sakamoto will represent W-1 in this match. Sakamoto has a mixed arsenal of power and submission moves and is best known for his tag team wrestling. Sakamoto is a four time Strongest-K Tag Team Champion. Can Sakamoto shut MVP up once and for all?

- Manik vs. Minoru Tanaka: Manik, another recruit of James Storm's stable takes on Minoru Tanaka, representing W-1, in singles action. Tanaka is a veteran of the sport and is a four time IWGP Junior Heavyweight Champion and a five time IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Champion. In a upstart vs veteran battle who will come out on top?

- Andy Wu and Hijo Del Pantera vs Kuroshio Ikemen Jiro and Yusuke Kodama: W-1 will be showcasing four wrestlers from their roster in this tag team match. If you're into Japanese wrestling or want to get a look at how important Japan sees their wrestling, than this match is a must see.

And that's the card for this year's TNA Bound For Glory. Come back on Monday afternoon as I will have the BFG recap.

The Weekend 3 Count 10/6 - 10/12 #WWE #TNA

By @BSA1978

The Weekend 3 Count is brought to you by Triple Threat CLE.

*** WWE News and Rumors ***

- "Stone Cold" Steve Austin making a come back? That's what rumors have been stating. Austin, himself, has even said on his podcast that he's been training for a comeback. Sources have said that Austin wants to have a huge involvement with WWE in 2015.

- Where's the Deadman? The Undertaker was spotted at the Wizard World Austin Comic Con in Austin, Texas this past week. Questions about Wrestlemania 31 and Sting were asked to the Death Valley Demon. Taker stated "never say never" about Wrestlemania but had no plans. As for Sting, Taker hasn't really thought about having a match with the Stinger.

- Happy Birthday Smackdown!! WWE Smackdown turned 15 this month. 15 years ago, Smackdown debuted on the UPN network with Triple H vs The Rock for the WWE Championship as the main event. Shawn Micheals served as special guest referee. I still have that show on VHS tape somewhere back when I used to collect matches on video tape.

- New Bray Wyatt followers? There have been rumors circulating that Bray Wyatt may be taking in NXT's tag team The Ascension as new Wyatt Family members. Which would explain why Bray is setting Erick Rowan and Luke Harper free in recent tv segments.

- If you don't want your luggage lost, than don't fly United Airlines. This week Dolph Ziggler's bags were lost, then found in Canada. What's interesting is that the WWE Intercontinental Championship was one of the items lost. Imagine finding a WWE title, how hard would it be to give back?

- After this Friday's backstage segment on Smackdown between The Rock and Triple H, talk of a match has surfaced. The WWE may possibly go with The Rock vs Triple H as one of the co-main events at Wrestlemania 31.

- Rumors are circulating that WWE World Heavyweight Champion, Brock Lesnar, won't return to defend his title until the Royal Rumble. What happended to the so called "30 Day Rule", where a superstar was stripped of the title if he failed to defend within 30 days??

- It has been officially announced that the 2015 Royal Rumble in January will be a 40 Man Rumble.

- Chris Jericho sent out a tweet on Twitter stating he'll be back in WWE in November.

- When you get time, check out this article written by Rob Simmons. It basically sums up how all of us feel about WWE's current product. Rob wrote a letter to Triple H and posted the link to it on Triple H's Twitter page. Very heart felt and very true.
Chair Shots Presents: Dear Triple H (A Letter From A Struggling 35 Year Fan).

- WWE's Hell In A Cell Card -
** John Cena vs Dean Ambrose
** "Hell In A Cell Match": Seth Rollins vs Winner of Cena/Ambrose

*** TNA News and Rumors ***

- Bellator MMA has officially announced that TNA World Heavyweight Champion Bobby Lashley will face Karl Etherington at Bellator 130, on Friday, October 24th.

- TNA recently made a play for the hottest free agent in wrestling, CM Punk. TNA offered Punk a Hulk Hogan type deal and promised him he would be the face of TNA. As of now, CM Punk, still has no interest whatsoever in wrestling again. TNA currently is denying this.

- TNA President, Dixie Carter, celebrated her 50th birthday this week.

- TNA recently announced new TV deals in Malaysia and Singapore. There has still been no word on if they are close to a new deal with a tv station to show Impact on in the U.S.

- After failing to win the TNA World Tag Team Championship this week on Impact, Bully Ray went to Twitter. Bully Ray stated that even though he and Devon failed to win the titles, they still have their sights set on winning their favorite titles. Rumors are saying that he is talking about the New Japan Tag Team Championship.

- More Kurt Angle free agent talk has surfaced. Sources have said that Angle would stay with TNA if they meet his requirements. Sources are also saying that Angle has also had a sit down with WWE and would be more than willing to return to the company that made him famous, if they give him a part time contract.

More news and rumors next week on Weekend 3 Count.

By @BSA1978

Wrestling Lockup with Brandon brought to you by Triple Threat CLE. Today's edition is the Smackdown recap from last night. Smackdown this week, was the show's 15th Anniversary show held in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Highlights from last night's show included the return of Teddy Long and John Laurinaitis as both men led teams of 8 against each other. John Cena and Dean Ambrose air out their issues with each other on MizTV. Rusev battled Dolph Ziggler. Seth Rollins and WWE Divas Champion, A.J. Lee were in action. Let's get to the recap.

- In Ring Segment with Stephanie McMahon, John Laurinaitis and Teddy Long: Stephanie talks about this being Smackdown's 15th Anniversary show and mentions how her husband, Triple H, defeated The Rock on the very first episode 15 years ago. Steph mentions "the people" and out comes the leader of "People Power", John Laurinaitis. Johnny is ready to inject "people power" into tonight's show...but hold up...playa! It's Teddy Long, making his way to the ring. Johnny and Teddy argue over who the best GM of Smackdown was and decide to settle it in the ring. It'll be Team Johnny vs Team Teddy in a 16 Man Tag Team Match later, winning team will crown either Johnny or Teddy the best GM of Smackdown.

- In Ring Segment with Adam Rose and Stephanie McMahon: Before Stephanie can leave the ring from the opening segment, out comes Adam Rose and his Exotic Express Party Posse. Rose tells Steph to not be a lemon cause there's a party going on tonight. The billion dollar princess isn't amused with Rose's antics and announces Adam Rose vs Kane right now.

- Adam Rose vs Kane: Rose tries to avoid Kane and get quick offensive moves in. Rose applies a sleeper but Kane crushes Rose into the corner. Kane grabs Rose by the throat and choke slams Rose to hell. Kane covers and scores the pinfall. Ladies and Gentlemen.....Adam Rose's undefeated streak has ended. After the match Kane lays out the Exotic Express with choke slams and goes for The Bunny but The Bunny retreats back to his rabbit hole.

- Smackdown 15th Anniversary Rewind: John Cena's debut against Kurt Angle.

- AJ Lee vs Alicia Fox (w/Paige): Fox works over A.J. with mat wrestling as Paige coaches her from the floor. Fox gets a near fall with a back breaker. A.J. fights back and locks in the "Black Widow" submission, forcing Fox to tap out. After the match, Paige tries to attack A.J. with the Divas Championship. A.J. avoids the attack and sends Fox crashing into Paige.

- Smackdown 15th Anniversary Rewind: The Big Show and Brock Lesnar's superplex that collapses the ring.

- Kofi Kingston vs Seth Rollins (w/Joey Mercury and Jamie Noble): Rollins takes it to Kofi inside and outside of the ring. Kofi attempts a comeback but Rollins delivers a "Curb Stomp" for the pinfall.

- Video Segment: The Wyatt Family have another weird segment. All signs are still pointing to Erick Rowan and Luke Harper going solo.

- Smackdown 15th Anniversary Rewind: Edge and Jack Swagger cashing in Money In The Bank on Smackdown.

- Rusev (w/Lana) vs Dolph Ziggler: Rusev attacks Ziggler quick and mat wrestles him down. Ziggler lands a drop kick but misses a second one. Rusev over powers Ziggler and locks in "The Accolade", forcing Ziggler to tap out. After the match Lana complains about The Rock interrupting them on RAW. Rusev challenges The Big Show to a match on this week's up coming RAW.

- Smackdown 15th Anniversary Rewind: Steve Austin brawling with Booker T. in the Supermarket.

- The Philadelphia Eagles are in attendance tonight. They're having a great time considering they almost lost to the Rams on Sunday.

- Backstage Segment with The Rock, Triple H and Stephanie McMahon: Triple H mentions beating The Rock on the debut episode of Smackdown. Rock mentions beating him the following week. Triple H and The Rock then go back and forth about being victorious if they ever had a one on one match in present time.

- Smackdown 15th Anniversary Rewind: Steve Austin destroying the DX Express bus.

- Cake is delivered, celebrating Smackdown's Anniversary.

- Booker T., the 5x 5x 5x 5x 5x WCW World Champion arrives to do commentary in the big Team Johnny vs Team Teddy match.

- "16 Man Tag Team Match": Team Teddy: Mark Henry, Los Matadores, Sheamus, The Usos, Jack Swagger and El Torito vs. Team Johnny: Heath Slater, Titus O'Neil, Goldust, Stardust, Bo Dallas, Cesaro, Damien Sandow and Hornswoggle: A lot of action and hot tags through out the match. Sheamus hits "White Noise" on Cesaro but Sandow breaks up the pin. Los Matadores hit suicide dives over the ropes, taking out a few Team Johnny guys. The Usos go airbourne next, taking out their enemies, Goldust and Stardust. Henry has Dallas for the "World's Strongest Slam" but Dallas escapes and dumps Henry to the floor. Sheamus plants the "Brogue Kick" in Dallas' face but then Sheamus is snatched up by Cesaro for the giant swing. Jimmy Uso breaks the swing with a super kick on Cesaro. Sandow goes for the "Skull Crushing Finale" but gets hit with the "Brogue Kick" from Sheamus. Jey Uso flies through the air and splashes Sandow from the top for the pinfall. Teddy Long is the best GM of Smackdown.

- Video Segment: Another Wyatt Family weird segment. Set them free.

- MizTV with John Cena and Dean Ambrose: We get to see The Miz on the 15th Anniversary of Smackdown, he says we should be honored. Miz promotes Hell In A Cell which will include his guests tonight. Dean Ambrose and John Cena come out for their face to face. Ambrose says he laid Cena out on RAW because he doesn't care who he is or what he's done. You don't cross Ambrose and if you do he'll hunt you down. Says Seth Rollins is his and Cena won't stop him from getting his revenge on Rollins. Cena says Ambrose is unstable and the decision makers are scared of what Ambrose will do. Cena says he's impressed with Ambrose but at Hell In A Cell people may not care about John Cena but Dean Ambrose will know John Cena's name when it's over. Cena likes his chances. Miz tries to instigate more between Ambrose and Cena. Cena tells Miz to shut up. Miz says they are ruining MizTV. Cena and Ambrose decide not to fight each other tonight and instead they both attack Miz. Ambrose hits the double arm DDT, laying Miz out. Cena sneaks in, grabs Ambrose and lays Ambrose out with an "AA". Smackdown closes out with Seth Rollins on stage watching.

And that's this week's show, till next time, tap or snap.

The Raven Report 10.10.14

By @neveRWilliams

-Andrew Luck, T.Y. Hilton and the Indianapolis Colts went down to Houston and pulled out a 33-28 win against the Texans. Luck finished with 370 yards passing and 3 touchdowns, with 223 of those yards going to receiver T.Y. Hilton and his 1 TD. Texans running back Arian Foster gained 109 yards on 20 carries and 2 touchdowns. Texans QB Ryan Fitzpatrick didn't have a bad statistical night, going 15/23 for 212 yards, 1 TD and 0 interceptions. Houston defensive end J.J. Watt had a fumble recovery and scored his 3 touchdown of the season. The Colts had a 24-0 lead at the end of the 1st quarter, but Watt's fumble return TD in the 4th quarter cut the Colts lead to the 33-28 score. Houston had two chances to come back and take the lead, but a fumble by WR Andre Johnson and another by Fitzpatrick nixed that in the last five minutes. The Colts improved their record to 4-2, while the Texans pulled even at 3-3. Next week's Thursday night game will be the New York Jets heading up to Foxboro, Massachusetts to take on the New England Patriots.

-University of Georgia star running back Todd Gurley was suspended by the school indefinitely on Thursday. The suspension is pending an investigation in the alleged NCAA violation of Gurley being given money for his autographs, memorabilia and use of his own likeness. A source told ESPN's Darren Rovell that Gurley would seek $8-$25 per signature. Authentication company James Spence Authentication as authenticated at least 500 signed items with Gurley's signature including mini-helmets, jerseys, photos and cleats. Personally, I still think it's ridiculous and silly that the NCAA and schools can make LITERALLY BILLIONS of dollars on these kids, but then turn around an scream out violation because one of them signs their name, gets an extra taco, another plate of pasta or uses a water hose to wash a car. All of which are true stories that the NCAA seen as violations.

Last weekend against Vanderbilt, Gurley rushed for 163 yards and 2 touchdowns. He will likely be replaced by freshman Nick Chubb. In 2010, Georgia receiver and current Cincinnati Bengal AJ Green was suspended 4 games for selling his own Independence Bowl jersey. Todd Gurley is currently ranked 9th on Mel Kiper's NFL draft board.

-Speaking of silliness, the NFL decided to fine San Francisco 49ers QB Colin Kaepernick $10,000 for wearing pink Beats by Dre headphones around his neck at a press conference. The NFL has an exclusive agreement with Bose, while Kaepernick has an endorsement deal with Beats By Dre. Ridiculous.

-The American League Championship Series opens tonight with Chris Tillman and the Baltimore Orioles hosting James Shields and the Kansas City Royals. Back in April, would anyone have pick these two teams to be the final two of the American League? But as they say, that's why you play the games. Both teams are the epitome of a "miracle run" or a "team of destiny".

-The Blue Jackets opened up the 2014-2015 NHL season against the Buffalo Sabres with a 3-1 victory. The first period ended 0-0 but the Jackets outshot the Sabres 12-7. Both goaltenders were on their game making amazing saves. The second period was a little bit different with Jack Skille(1) opening up the scoring with his first of the year with assists from Jarod Boll(1) and Michael Chaput(1). Buffalo tied it up a minute later with a goal from Zemgus Girgensons (1). Shots for both teams in the second were the same as the first 12-7 making it 24-14 through two periods. The third period just like the first two periods as both teams playing a tight close checking game. Cam Atkinson (1) scored on the power play half way through the period to give the Jackets a 2-1 lead with assists going to Ryan Johansen (1) and Nick Foligno (1). Joining the scoring party was Artem Anisimov (1) with assists to Scott Hartnell (1) and rookie Alexander Wennberg (1). The rookies showed poise and promise while the veterans did the brunt work in the win. Sergei Bobrovsky (1-0) was his usual brick wall self stopping 22 out of 23 shots while Buffalos Jhonas Enroth (0-1) stopped 37 out of 40 with both goalies making highlight real saves. The Blue Jackets (1-0 2 points) have their home opener and play this Saturday October 11 against the New York Rangers at 7pm.

-Pop music and pop culture superstar Katy Perry will be the Super Bowl XLIX halftime performer. The game will be held February 1 in Glendale, Arizona, the home of the Arizona Cardinals. Other artists who were in contention were Rihanna and Coldplay. Adding Perry should be a major draw for the NFL. Last year's Super Bowl that had the Seattle Seahawks and Denver Broncos with Bruno Mars at halftime, brought in over 111 million viewers.

-Opening in theaters today is the action horror film "Dracula Untold", legal drama "The Judge" starring Robert Downey Jr. and Steve Carell and Jennifer Garner's family comedy "Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day". All 3 films should have pretty decent opening numbers, but will anyone of them overcome Ben Affleck's "Gone Girl" which pulled in $37.5 million last week? Not so sure about that one.

-The uber popular zombie action drama "The Walking Dead" starts it's 5th season this Sunday on AMC at 9pm.

-Lastly, I'd like to announce that plans are moving forward to bring TripleThreatCLE.com to internet radio and podcast outlets. Please, stay posted for more on that news coming soon.

Wrestling Lockup with Brandon, 10.9.14: TNA Impact Results

By @BSA1978

Wrestling Lockup with Brandon, brought to you by Triple Threat CLE. It's the TNA Impact recap from last night's show. Impact took place once again from Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. Some highlights of last night's show consisted of Bobby Roode trying to earn another TNA World Title Match. The finals of the Triple Threat Tag Team Series between Team 3D, The Hardy Boys and The Wolves in a "Full Metal Mayhem Match". A Triple Threat Knockouts Match between Angelina Love, Taryn Terrell and Madison Rayne to determine a new #1 Contender to the TNA Knockouts Title. Samuel Shaw and Bram in an "Anything Goes Match". All this and plenty more, now on to this week's recap.

- In Ring Segment with Bobby Roode and MVP's Stable: Impact opens up with former TNA World Champion, Bobby Roode, in the ring. Roode, wants an answer to the challenge for the TNA World Title that Roode gave Bobby Lashley last week. MVP and Kenny King emerge from the back without Lashley. MVP tells Roode he doesn't deserve another shot at the TNA World Title and has no right asking for one. Roode, MVP and King all take verbal shots at each other. MVP finally offers Roode another shot at Bobby Lashley for the TNA World Title...but...only if Roode can beat MVP and King tonight in a 2 on 1 match. And if Roode loses he can never get a shot at the TNA World Title again. Roode accepts the challenge.

- #1 Contender to the TNA Knockouts Title, Triple Threat Match: Madison Rayne vs Taryn Terrell vs Angelina Love (w/Velvet Sky): Before the match even starts, Love and Sky beat down Terrell until Rayne steps in for the save. Rayne and Terrell both go for pinfalls only to have the other break it up. Terrell and Rayne double team Love but Sky gets involved to help by pulling Rayne to the floor. The three go at it again, this time Terrell goes airbourne and takes Love and Rayne out with a cross body. Terrell covers Love but Rayne sneaks in from behind, breaks up the pinfall and rolls Terrell up with a handful of tights to score the pinfall. After the match Rayne and Terrell argue over Rayne cheating to win. The TNA Knockouts Champion, Havok, arrives and enters the ring. Rayne runs for cover as Havok destroys Terrell and leaves Terrell laid out.

- Low Ki and Tigre Uno vs James Storm and The Great Sanada: Sanada and Uno with nice mat wrestling early. Mid match, Storm distracts the referee as Manik slides into the ring. Manik drops Uno with a neckbreaker before exiting. Uno is beat down and double teamed until getting the hot tag to Low Ki. Low Ki hits the double foot stomp on Storm but Storm kicks out at two. Manik fakes interference, distracting Low Ki, who takes a back cracker from Storm. Sanada sprays green mist into Uno's eyes and Storm hits the super kick on Uno for the pinfall.

- "Anything Goes Match": Samuel Shaw vs. Bram: Bram comes out, weapon in hand and Shaw meets him with trash can lid in hand, halfway. Shaw and Bram brawl in and out of the ring with kendo sticks, garbage cans and steel chairs. Shaw lights Bram up with chair shots. Shaw stacked chairs on top of chairs in the ring than reversed a Bram superplex and power bombed Bram on top of the stack of chairs. Bram tosses Shaw into a chair wedged in the corner and scores the pinfall. After the match Brittany gets in the ring and checks on Shaw.

- Backstage Segment with Bobby Roode: Roode is ready and plans on winning the TNA World Title. Plans on going through MVP and King and getting the job done.

- Backstage Segment with Team 3D and The Wolves: Both teams take shots at each other and are ready for tonight's match.

- "2 on 1 Elimination Match": Bobby Roode vs. MVP and Kenny King: MVP and King double team Roode as soon as the bell rings. In and out of the ring MVP and King own Roode as they continue the 2 on 1 onslaught. Roode is tossed into the ring steps and into the guardrail. King accidentally cracks MVP and Roode sends King over the ropes. Roode rolls up MVP for the pinfall and MVP is eliminated. MVP interferes and almost costs Roode the match but Roode kicks out. Roode is in control and going for the win on King, when Bobby Lashley hits the ring and spears the hell out of Roode. Roode wins by DQ but takes a beat down from Lashley.

- In Ring Segment with Ethan Carter III and Rockstar Spud: ECIII says he's unstoppable. Calls out Rockstar Spud so he can take care of the people that let him down. Spud comes out and says he's still ECIII's best friend and tries to prove it. EClll wants nothing to do with Spud as he calls Spud a loser and shoves him down. Spud gets back to his feet and hits ECIII. ECIII says that Spud has a lot of heart and then fires him.

- "TNA World Tag Team Championship, Full Metal Mayhem Match": The Wolves (c) vs Team 3D vs The Hardys: We begin with all six brawling. Matt climbs the ladder but Bully drags him off. Bully climbs the ladder but gets DDT'ed off it by Davey Richards. Devon climbs the ladder but gets pulled down by Matt. Bully suplexed Matt and Eddie Edwards at the same time. Devon builds a bridge from the apron to the ring steps with a guardrail but gets knocked onto it by Richards. Bully grabs Richards and power bombs him through the guardrail bridge. Devon goes nuts with a steel chair then climbs the ladder. Edwards hits Devon with a steel chair, ending the climb. Matt and Edwards take each other out with chair shots. Jeff makes a table bridge with Bully on top of it. Jeff misses the leg drop on Bully and crashes through the table. Bully, Matt and Edwards all climb ladders and trade shots with each other.
All three end up knocking each other off their ladders. Matt lays Richards on a table and lands a leg drop, sending both crashing through. Devon destroys Edwards with a folder ladder. Bully and Devon double team Edwards and Devon goes to the top rope. Jeff shoves Devon off sending Devon crashing through two tables. All three teams make runs up the ladder for the belts only to get stopped. Jeff gets to the top of the ladder but gets thrown off by Richards and onto Bully, both Jeff and Bully crash through tables. Richards power bombs Matt through a table as Edwards climbs the ladder and grabs the titles for the win. Impact closes out with a definite candidate for match of the year. WOW!

And that's a wrap my friends. Till next time, tap or snap.

The Puck Drops Here 10.9.14: Columbus Blue Jackets Preview #CBJ

By @CLulovics

Training camp has wrapped up and the NHL preseason for the Columbus Blue Jackets has come to a close.  The Jackets finished the 2014 preseason with a record of 7-1, their only loss coming against the Pittsburgh Penguins and scoring 28 goals while giving up 17.  The preseason success has the fan base even more excited for the upcoming season which opens up Thursday October 9 in Buffalo against the Sabres.  Game time is 7 pm and can be seen on FSO (check local cable listings).  Then two days later the home opener is Saturday October 11 at 7 pm against the New York Rangers also at 7pm.  If you are heading down for the opener there will be a fanfest outside the arena starting at 3pm. Festivities include music, food, drinks and this year fans can welcome players coming to the arena with a red carpet.  Single game tickets are currently on sale.

The Blue Jackets signed center Ryan Johansen to a 3 year deal worth $12 million. He will receive $3 million the first 2 years of the deal and $6 million in the third year. Johansen will still be a restricted free agent when the deal ends with the Jackets still holding his rights. Johansen was the Jackets leading point leader with 63 points (33 goals and 30 assists) while playing in all 82 regular season games.

Boone Jenner who is young and a huge part of the Jackets future will start the season injured as he currently has a broken wrist and after surgery is expected to be out of action for approximately 5 weeks.  Last year Jenner had 16 goals and 13 assists for 29 points while playing in 72 games.

Brandon Dubinsky and Nick Foligno (16g 34a 50pts and 18g 21a 39pts respectively) look to continue to lead the young Jackets with their veteran leadership.  Dubinsky last year in the playoffs shut down Sidney Crosby who is one of the NHL'S top players. The Blue Jackets will be without Dubinsky for 6 weeks however after he had abdominal surgery on Wednesday. Foligno last year scored the Blue Jackets overtime winning goal in game 4 giving the Jackets their first ever home playoff win.

Artem Anisimov, Cam Atkinson, Matt Calvert, Mark Letestu, and newly acquired Scott Hartnell will all contribute on the top 3 lines looking to create goals along with hard checks.  On the defensive side, (blue line for new hockey fans), Jack Johnson, James Wisniewski, Dalton Prout, David Savard, Ryan Murray, and Fedor Tyutin will hold down the fort in front of goalie Sergei Bobrovsky who is coming back from 2 great seasons.

With Boone Jenner and Brandon Dubinsky out for the first month of the season at least, that will give rookies Marko Dano, Michael Chaput, and Alexander Wennberg an early chance to prove themselves.  It will also give Blue Jacket fans a glimpse at the young rookies and a chance to see the future of the team as all three bring something different to the team and are all capable of scoring and creating chances.

The Jackets, while young, are expected to not only contend for the playoffs, but make it deeper into them.  As with any sport, the main goal is to not only make the playoffs but win the championship. So it is Stanley Cup or bust.  That's the mentality they have to go with and have each others backs, fight for each other, and play team hockey.  If all of those are met, then goals and wins will happen and the Stanley Cup will be coming to Columbus next spring.  As always JOIN THE BATTLE.

Around the B1G with K8 10.8.14

By @ClvlndK8

As we finally start seeing some conference play, the B1G is gaining momentum in the polls.
The latest power rankings from BTN are out and there are a few surprises...

1. Michigan State - well, no surprise here. They were touted as the Team To Beat when the season started and nothing has changed.  A rough loss in week two vs the Oregon Ducks is the lone bad mark on their record. However, with the Ducks losing to Arizona, that loss may haunt them in the final season standings and playoff chances.

2. Ohio State - this one surprised me! I know the offense is just killing it and as JT Barrett gets more comfortable as the starter, the offense gets better each week, but if they don't fix their defensive woes, beating a bunch of mediocre teams won't get them to the playoffs.

3. Nebraska - I'm telling you, keep an eye on the 'Huskers! They got off to a slow start vs Michigan State last week which hurt them but I fully expect them to be in the B1G championship game representing the west.

4. Northwestern - who-da-thunk-it? The Big Purple Machine is looking good and safety Godwin Igwebuike is a large part of that.

...and now I'll skip to a few teams worth noting at the bottom of the list...

10. Penn State - this was the real surprise for me. I had high hopes for this team and Heisman Hopeful QB Christian Hackenberg but, when compared to the rest of the conference, they are not holding up their end of the bargain. Yeah, it's early in the season, but they need to work on their "style point."

12. Purdue - jumping up two spots this week after beating Illinois (yeah, that's impressive) the fact that they are ranked over Michigan speaks VOLUMES to the problems in Ann Arbor.

13. Michigan - and speaking of Ann Arbor, the mess that is Wolverine football is getting to be too depressing even for a die-hard-hater like me. Where's the fun in beating a bad team? Who likes to pull the wings off of flies or kick puppies? Not me. I like to beat a team that thinks it's got a chance to win and these players show serious doubts in their coaches and their program. Sigh.

That's it for me this week... More B1G matchups this weekend including what could lead to riots in Brady Hoke's neighborhood as Penn State travels to Michigan. Sad, just very sad.

Respectfully Submitted,
Cleveland Kate
