Wrestling Lockup with Brandon, 9.18.14: TNA Impact

By @BSA1978.

Wrestling Lockup with Brandon, brought to you by Triple Threat CLE is here with your TNA Impact recap for the week. Last nights Impact was the No Surrender made for TV pay per view. The show kicks off with a Knockouts Battle Royal.

- "Knockouts Battle Royal": Newcomer Havok, goes nuts on all the other knockouts, early in the match. The other knockouts try to gang up on Havok, Havok easily tosses Madison Rayne and Taryn Terrell to the floor. Havok next eliminates Brittany, as Brittany gave it her all on Havok. Angelina Love eliminates herself, probably making the smartest decision of the night in this match. Rebel climbs to the top rope but gets spun off the ropes and bounced from the steps to the floor by Havok. We're down to Havok and Velvet Sky as the final two. Havok attempts the "Air Raid Crash" but Sky slips out and applies a sleeper. Havok misses a leg drop allowing Sky to run the ropes and go for a crossbody block. Havok catches Sky and dumps her to the floor for the victory.

- Backstage Segment with Gunner and Samuel Shaw: Gunner tells Shaw he needs to go back to his therapist. Shaw hates the idea so Gunner mentions Brittany asking about him last week and how he should go get some of that. Shaw says he has his sights set on someone else.

- In Ring Promo with MVP and Kenny King: MVP says Bobby Lashley will crush Bobby Roode's chance at winning the TNA World Title tonight. MVP invites Sgt. Chris Melendez out next and out comes Melendez. MVP thanks Melendez for his military service and King offers Melendez a spot in MVP's group. Melendez turns down the offer. King accuses Melendez of thinking he's too good for them and demands a match with Melendez right now. MVP distracts Melendez allowing King to attack Melendez from behind and we have an impromptu match.

- Kenny King vs Sgt. Chris Melendez: King goes for the "Coronation" on Melendez. Melendez escapes and sunset flips King for the pinfall. After the match King hits a "Royal Flush" on Melendez. King disrespects Melendez on the mic and threatens to stick Melendez's prosthetic leg up his ass. As King tries to rip Melendez's leg off, Mr. Anderson hits the ring and makes the save.

- "X-Division Title Match": Samoa Joe (c) vs Homicide: Homicide blocks the "Musclebuster" and hits a tornado DDT. Homicide hits an ace crusher then goes for the "Cop Killa". Joe breaks out of that so Homicide goes for another ace crusher. Joe steps into the move and locks in the "Kokina Clutch" in midair. Homicide tries to fight it but eventually taps out. Joe retains the X-Division Title. After the match Joe and Homicide go to shake hands but James Storm, The Great Sanada and Manik hit the ring and attack Joe and Homicide. Manik comes off the top rope with a frog splash on Homicide as he and Joe are left laid out.

- Backstage Promo with The Wolves: The Wolves came into the series with something to prove and their legacy is on the line tonight. Tonight they scale the ladder and take what is theirs because the hunt never dies.

- Backstage Segment with Bobby Roode and Eric Young: They talk about how crazy things have been this year for both men. When Roode wins the TNA World Title tonight things will really get crazy.

- "Tag Team Title Series Match #3, Ladder Match": The Wolves vs The Hardy Boys vs Team 3D: The Wolves go airbourne and take out both teams early. Jeff misses "Whisper in the Wind" and takes a hard bump on a ladder. Team 3D hit the wazzup off the ladder on Davey Richards but get taken out with a ladder by Matt afterwards. Bully Ray power bombs Jeff on a ladder. The Wolves double power bomb Bully off the ladder. Matt hits a "Twist of Fate" off the ladder on Eddie Edwards. Bully superplexes Jeff off the ladder. Team 3D hit the "Doomsday Device" on Richards. Jeff hits "Poetry in Motion" on Richards into a ladder. The Wolves unload chair shots on the Hardy's and Matt gets double stomped through a table by Richards. Edwards and Jeff are climbing on side by side ladders. Edwards kicks Jeff off his ladder, then grabs the tag titles for the victory as Richards stops Bully Ray from interfering.

- Bram vs Gunner: This match was just an all out brawl. Gunner appeared to hurt his knee as Bram took advantage by slamming the leg into the ring steps. Samuel Shaw comes out as Gunner continued to get a beating on his leg. Gunner goes for a power bomb but his leg gives out and Bram falls on top of him. Shaw gets in the ring to make the save but accidentally hits Gunner. Bram throws Shaw to the floor then rolls Gunner up with a handful of tights for the pinfall. After the match Gunner yells at Shaw for interfering and walks off.

- Backstage Promo with Gail Kim: She has no problem with Havok gunning for her Knockouts Title. Doesn't like how Havok decided to just hurt people to get a title shot. Tells Havok that she's ready and to bring it.

- "TNA World Title Match": Bobby Lashley (c) vs Bobby Roode: MVP and Kenny King are ringside with Bobby Lashley for this match. MVP and King get ejected from the match by the referee, after getting involved in the match. Roode dodges a spear and locks Lashley in a crippler crossface. King back out grabs Roode's leg and breaks up the submission. Eric Young hits the ring and brawls with King on the floor. Lashley hits the spear on Roode but Roode kicks out at two, stunning Lashley. Lashley tries to use his title for a weapon and swings at Roode. Roode ducks, hits a Roode Bomb and covers Lashley, but Lashley kicks out at two. Both men trade punches and pinfall attempts as Lashley hits a power slam and Roode hits a spine buster. Roode gives Lashley the Roode Bomb over the top rope and Lashley crashes on the floor. Lashley goes for another spear but Roode leapfrogs Lashley, landing gingerly on his leg. Roode goes for the Roode Bomb but his leg gives out and Lashley finally hits a spear attempt. Lashley covers Roode and scores the pinfall. Impact closes out with Bobby Lashley STILL TNA World Heavyweight Champion.

Bully's Team 3D partner, Devon, makes his way to the ring. Devon talks about how they rid TNA of Dixie when suddenly The Hardy Boys arrive. Matt says it's been a long time since both teams were in the same ring together. Both teams talk about their past history together and we have a match set up tonight as a reward to the fans.

Homicide and Low Ki are the final two in the match. Homicide goes for the "Gringo Killer" but Low Ki escapes. Low Ki sends Homicide into the turnbuckles with a dropkick and hits the "Ki Krusher" for the pinfall. Low Ki gets a TNA X Division Championship Match against Samoa Joe.

- Rockstar Spud, Ethan Carter III and Rhino come out to the ring to cut a promo. Spud rips on the fans. ECIII is mad because the Carter family was hurt, the fans cheer and wants Bully Ray fired. Kurt Angle arrives and has the trio arrested as they refuse to wrestle tonight. Spud threatens to fight the police and has diplomatic immunity. Spud gets tossed to the mat and handcuffed. ECIII says he knows Carmelo Anthony, is the real wolf of wall street and throws money around. ECIII is handcuffed and he and Spud are escorted out by NYPD.

Abyss asks for "her" back but Bram says "she" belongs to him now. Abyss asks for one last match that would involve different weapons that Abyss rattles off. And "Janice" will hang above the ring, first one to grab "her" can use "her". Bram accepts. Magnus mocks Abyss saying "Janice" screwed him twice and is probably the only "girl" to screw him. Wrestling Lockup with Brandon 8.1.14: TNA Impact

Wrestling Lockup with Brandon is upon us again, brought to you by Triple Threat Podcast. TNA Impact received a major blow this week as Spike TV announced that TNA Impact will be cancelled from their tv programming. It is unknown at this time what will become of TNA but they need to act fast if they want to get a new tv deal with a new channel. Many are worried that this may be the end of that little company that Jeff Jarrett started in 2002. Only time will tell. Until then let's enjoy what TNA action we still have and hope they get a new deal soon.

Last night was a very special TNA Destination X made for TV pay per view. The Hardy Boys reunited to take on The Wolves for the TNA World Tag Team Championship. A TNA X Division Title Triple Threat Tournament kicked off to determine a new TNA X Division Champion. And Austin Aries cashed in his TNA X Division Title last week to get a shot at Bobby Lashley and the TNA World Title. Let's hit the recap.

- Destination X kicked off from New York City with Dixie Carter and Team Dixie inhabiting the ring. Dixie has a mic and brags about how she keeps outsmarting everyone. Dixie rips on Team 3D and Tommy Dreamer and builds up her nephew, the next big star, Ethan Carter III. ECIII builds up Team Dixie's new recruits Snitsky and Zeke Jackson. ECIII christians Zeke with the new name of Rycklon, challenges Bully Ray to one final match and states that he'll put Team 3D and Dreamer down for good.

- "TNA World Tag Team Championship": The Wolves (c) vs The Hardy Boys: One of the most famous tag teams of the WWE Attitude Era reunited tonight for a shot at the gold. Matt Hardy puts Davey Richards on the top turnbuckle and sets him up for a super twist of fate. Eddie Edwards runs up and hits an enziguiri on Matt. The Wolves hit the powerbomb/backstabber combo on Matt and The Wolves score the pinfall to retain the TNA World Tag Team Championship.

- "Triple Threat X Division Tournament": DJ Z vs Manik vs Low Ki: The first of three triple threat tournament matches tonight. Low Ki sends DJ Z to the floor then reverses Manik's double underhook with a double stomp. Low Ki hits the "Ki Krusher" on Manik to score the pinfall and advance to next week's TNA X Division Triple Threat Title Match.

- James Storm cuts a promo and says that he is Sanada's new mentor, leader and friend because he was sick of what The Great Muta was doing. Storm introduces Sanada for his match, Sanada bows to Storm.

- "Triple Threat X Division Tournament": Sanada vs Brian Cage vs Crazzy Steve: Cage hits a firemans carry on Steve then spring board moonsaults at Sanada. Sanada avoids it and hits a bridging tiger suplex for the pinfall. Sanada advances to next week's TNA X Division Triple Threat Match.

- Team 3D and Tommy Dreamer arrive for a promo. Dreamer says extreme has nothing to do with tables and chairs, it's about work ethic. Dreamer puts over guys on the TNA roster then tells ECIII that they should just fight tonight. ECIII comes out and says they'll fight next week. Bully Ray says that since ECIII picked the time then he's picking the stipulation. Next week it'll be a "Hardcore Weapons of War, Eight Man Tag Team Match" and Bully promises Dixie Carter will go through a table.

- The Beautiful People cut a promo backstage. Angelina Love says Kurt Angle keeps blocking her from getting a rematch for the TNA Knockouts Title. Love promises a huge announcement next week.

- "Triple Threat X Division Tournament": Samoa Joe vs Homicide vs Tigre Uno: Homicide returns to TNA for the match. Joe hits the "Musclebuster" on Homicide to score the pinfall. Joe and Homicide show respect to each other after the match by following Ring of Honor's Code of Honor by shaking hands. Next week it'll be Samoa Joe vs Sanada vs Low Ki for the TNA X Division Title.

- "TNA World Title Match": Bobby Lashley (c) vs Austin Aries: Aries hits the brainbuster on Lashley but Lashley kicks out at two. Aries goes for a suicide dive on Lashley on the floor. Lashley sidesteps Aries and Aries kisses the barricade instead. Lashley rolls Aries back in the ring and hits the spear on Aries. Lashley covers for the pinfall. TNA closes out with Bobby Lashley STILL TNA World Heavyweight Champion.

And that closes out this week's TNA Impact. I will be back next week for another edition of TNA Impact recap, as long as Spike TV doesn't pull the plug early on TNA. Till then, tap or snap.
