Wrestling Lockup with Brandon 1.3.15: #SmackDown Results

By @B_Rock1978

Happy New Year everyone and welcome to another edition of Wrestling Lockup with Brandon, brought to you by Triple Threat CLE. Today's edition is your SmackDown recap from last night's show. SmackDown took place in Norfolk, Virginia. Edge and Christian, who served as RAW General Manager's on Monday, returned as the SmackDown General Managers. Seth Rollins and Big Show used Edge as bait to get John Cena to reinstate The Authority this past RAW. What will happen now that The Authority is in charge again?

- Smackdown kicks off with Edge and Christian: Edge apologized to the WWE Universe for him being the reason John Cena had to reinstate The Authority this past RAW. Edge and Christian announce that they have filed a lawsuit against WWE for breach of contract, assault and battery and loss of consortium. Joey Mercury and Jamie Noble interrupt E&C and have a folder from The Authority in their possession. Inside the folder it states that The Authority knew nothing about Seth Rollins and Big Show's planned attack on RAW. The Authority will not be held responsible for what happened to E&C on RAW. It also states that The Authority have sent Mercury and Noble to Smackdown to oversee what E&C do tonight. Edge announces Big Show vs. Ryback and Rusev vs. Roman Reigns to close out the segment.

- Bray Wyatt battled his former Wyatt Family brother, Erick Rowan: Bray orders Rowan to lie down, reminding Rowan where he came from within the Wyatt Family. Rowan refuses and we have a match. Rowan beats down Bray until Bray distracts Rowan by asking him "Do you not remember me?". Rowan stops and says "I'm sorry". Bray capitalized on the distraction and hits Rowan with "Sister Abigail". Bray covers and scores the pinfall.

- In Ring Bray Wyatt Promo: Bray asks Dean Ambrose if he's willing to do what he just did to someone he loves, like Bray just did to Rowan. Bray says its been fun but all good things must come to end. And it'll end when Ambrose is in an ambulance. Follow The Buzzards.

- Backstage, Mercury and Noble make fun of Edge and Christian's "5 Second Pose" shtick.

- "Six Man Tag Match" as The Usos and R-Truth battled Goldust, Stardust and Adam Rose: Rose and Truth continued their feud as The Usos and The Rhodes Brothers renewed theirs. Truth goes over the ropes taking out Goldust. Stardust hits the "Falling Star". The match closes out with The Usos hitting their super kick and "Superfly Splash" combo and scoring the pinfall for their team.

- Ryback battled Big Show: Show clotheslines Ryback over the top rope. Ryback hits two axe handles off the turn buckle. Ryback goes for the "Meat Hook" but Show escapes out to the floor. Show works on Ryback's leg and applies a leg lock. Show charges at Ryback, Ryback moves, pulls the ropes down and Show flips over to the floor. Ryback goes for a splash but Show catches him and goes for a choke slam. Ryback counters the choke slam and lands a spine buster on Show. Ryback goes for the "Meat Hook" however Rusev's Russian Flag drops from the rafters, distracting Ryback. Rusev and Lana appear, grabbing Ryback's attention. Show hits Ryback with the knockout punch on the floor, causing Ryback to get counted out. After the match, Rusev goes to apply "The Accolade" on Ryback. Ryback escapes and lays Rusev out with the "Meat Hook", chasing Rusev from the ring.

- Backstage, Edge pranks Noble by making him walk into the ladies room and getting screamed at.

- Tag team action as Tyson Kidd and Cesaro faced Los Matadores: Fernando goes for the suicide dive but catches a european uppercut from Cesaro. Cesaro lands the "Cesaro Swing" next. Kidd flies off the top rope but eats a Fernando drop kick. Cesaro and Kidd close out the match by hitting a double team finisher on Diego to score the pinfall.

- Dean Ambrose battled Curtis Axel: Ambrose attacks Axel immediately, beating Axel around the outside of the ring. Ambrose throws Axel back in the ring and hits "Dirty Deeds" on him. The referee calls off the match.

- In Ring Dean Ambrose Promo: Ambrose says he'll smash the ambulance windshield with Bray's face, run over Bray's body, throw Bray in the back of the ambulance and drive them both into a happy new year hell.

- Backstage The Ascension Promo: First there was Legion of Doom, than Demolition, now it's The Ascension! Welcome to the wasteland.

- Tag team action as The Ascension made their Smackdown debut against two local jobbers: Quick Ascension squash match. Finished the jobbers off with their "Fall of Man" finisher for the pinfall.

Backstage, Mercury and Noble tell Edge and Christian their time running Smackdown is over and to leave. Edge and Christian draw all over Triple H and Stephanie McMahon's Muscle and Fitness posters before the segment ends.

- Main Event time saw Roman Reigns vs. Rusev: Reigns sends Rusev out to the floor with a clothesline early. Rusev with a lot of power moves and mat wrestling on Reigns. Rusev switched up to bear hug and chin lock submissions next on Reigns. Reigns fights back into the match and goes for the "Superman Punch" but Rusev counters and hits a drop kick on Reigns. Rusev goes for the thrust kick but eats a Reigns "Superman Punch" instead. Big Show heads to the ring, Reigns meets him halfway and lays the giant out with a "Superman Punch". Rusev connects with a thrust kick on Reigns on the Big Show distraction. Rusev goes for a second thrust kick but catches a spear from Reigns instead. Reigns covers for the pin attempt but Show again gets involved causing a DQ. After the match, Show tosses Reigns into the barricade a couple times then spears Reigns. Show goes for a choke slam but Reigns counters and ends up sending Show over the announcers table. Reigns does exactly what Show did to Reigns on RAW, flipping the announcers table over and pinning Show underneath. Smackdown closes out with Reigns celebrating.

*** My Thoughts ***

- Edge and Christian with their usual pranks. Honestly I'm not liking the retired E&C. I think their routine just reeks now instead of reeking of awesomeness.
- The Authority is back and they send Mercury and Noble to represent them on SmackDown?
- Found it weird how they just threw a Wyatt vs. Rowan match together and basically treated it like it didn't matter. They were 2/3rds of The Wyatt Family and they made it a short pointless match.
- Plus side, I'm looking forward to the "Ambulance Match" between Bray Wyatt and Dean Ambrose on this week's RAW.
- Cesaro and Kidd together is awesome!
- Honestly I don't care about the Rose/Truth feud and giving The Rhodes Brothers another storyline with The Usos I think is just a filler until The Usos get fed to The Ascension.
- Not sure about WWE comparing The Ascension to two of the best tag teams in wrestling, The Legion of Doom and Demolition. See how that works out.
- Poor Curtis Axel was just a prop this week.
- Rusev vs. Reigns and Ryback vs. Show I actually enjoyed.

And that's this week's Smackdown. Have a great weekend, till next time, tap or snap.

Bryan hooks us all in as he says his big announcement is that his career is far from over and he will be entering into the 2015 Royal Rumble. The fans start the "Yes Movement" chant as Bryan celebrates with the fans.
- Backstage Segment with Edge, Christian, The Miz and Damien Sandow: Miz demands a rematch with The Usos for the tag team titles. Edge gives them a match but it's not a rematch for the titles and it's tonight.
- Edge and Christian are announced as the Smackdown General Managers this Friday and they will have another Cutting Edge Peep Show with Dean Ambrose and Bray Wyatt.
- The Ascension make their RAW debut against The Miz and Damien Sandow: The Ascension dominate with Miz and Sandow getting a little bit of offense in. Konnor and Viktor hit the "Fall of Man" on Sandow and score the pinfall for the debut win.
- Cutting Edge Peep Show: Seth Rollins, Mercury and Noble are out as guests. Rollins talks about Edge and Christian being his idols growing up. E&C don't believe Rollins as they make fun of Rollins and The Stooges. Rollins wants to celebrate the new 2015 Seth Rollins and calls out Big Show to join him in his celebration. Rollins calls out John Cena next to celebrate but Cena no-shows. Rollins says he's better than Edge. Edge says even if Rollins had a live sex celebration with Big Show he'd still never be as good as Edge. Rollins yells for John Cena to come out, but Cena still no-shows. Rollins says he'll force Cena to come out then. Rollins hits Christian with the briefcase as Show grabs Edge by the throat. Edge gets his face forced down on the briefcase and Rollins threatens to re-break Edge's neck with a "Curb Stomp" unless Cena comes out. John Cena finally runs out but Rollins keeps Edge held hostage and orders Cena to stop. Rollins orders Cena to either reinstate The Authority or else he'll "Curb Stomp" Edge and make him paralyzed.
Rollins reminds Cena that Edge has a wife and a baby and being paralyzed would be bad for their family. Rollins continues to taunt Cena and threaten to paralyze Edge until Cena finally caves in and says "Yes" The Authority can come back. Rollins goes to "Curb Stomp" Edge anyway, however, Cena tackles Rollins for the block, just in time. Cena fights off Rollins and The Stooges but gets hit with the knockout punch by Show. Rollins lands a "Curb Stomp" on Cena, laying Cena out. RAW closes out with Brock Lesnar, Paul Heyman, Seth Rollins, Big Show, Mercury, Noble and finally the returning Triple H and Stephanie McMahon all on stage champagne toasting 2014 out and the rebirth of The Authority being back for 2015.

I want to say that tonight's RAW was pretty good. Ziggler and Rusev were used properly, both looking like legit champions. The debut of The Ascension was good, however, not sure the fans were into them like the NXT fans are. The Usos, 2-time tag team champions now. Brock Lesnar could've earned his paycheck a little bit more tonight, in my opinion. Countering a "AA" than staring down Cena was pretty weak. Daniel Bryan will be champion again in 2015, no doubt. And Seth Rollins pulled off some A+ sadistic heel moves tonight. BRAVO
And that's a wrap on this week's RAW results, till next time tap or snap.

Wrestling Lockup with Brandon, 10.7.14: #RAW Results

By @BSA1978

Wrestling Lockup with Brandon, brought to you by Triple Threat CLE. It's the RAW recap from last night's show. RAW took place live from Brooklyn, New York, home of one of the roughest, toughest son of a bitches to ever lace up a pair of boots in the WWE..........that's right I'm talking about the Brooklyn Brawler. Some highlights of last night's show consisted of Roman Reigns informing us of his current medical issue and timeline of a return to action. Rusev was supposed to face Big Show, however, The Authority ordered Show out of his match after the flag incident. The main event would see a "Handicap Match" with Dean Ambrose and John Cena vs Seth Rollins, Randy Orton and Kane. All that and more, let's get to the recap.

- In Ring Segment with Seth Rollins: Rollins storms to the ring, angry about what Dean Ambrose did to him last week. Rollins shows off on the TitanTron what he did to Ambrose with the "Curb Stomp" on the briefcase last week and brags about being the future of the WWE. Joey Mercury and Jamie Noble come out and try to get Rollins attention. Rollins ignores them and continues talking. John Cena runs out and attacks Rollins. Rollins escapes and runs through the crowd. Rollins mocks Cena in the crowd but doesn't see Dean Ambrose appear behind him. Ambrose unloads on Rollins and Rollins runs back toward the ring. Cena grabs Rollins at ringside and Ambrose flies through the air taking out both Cena and Ambrose. Mercury and Noble hold Ambrose back as Rollins escapes. Triple H and Stephanie McMahon appear. Stephanie says they will not let tonight's show turn to chaos. Noble and Mercury were sent out to warn Rollins but his ego wouldn't listen. Triple H announces Dean Ambrose and John Cena vs Seth Rollins, Randy Orton and Kane in the main event later.

- "Six Man Tag Match": The Usos and Dolph Ziggler vs Goldust, Stardust and Cesaro: Goldust attacks Jimmy Uso before the match and throws him shoulder first into the ring steps. Ziggler hits the "Famasser" on Cesaro but the pin is broken up. The Usos suicide dive onto the Rhodes Brothers on the floor. Cesaro with the european uppercut on Ziggler but the pin is broken up. Stardust hits his finisher on Ziggler but Ziggler kicks out. Stardust gets a triple super kick to the face from the trio of good guys. Jimmy hits the splash from the top rope for the pinfall.

- In Ring Segment with Adam Rose, Kathie Lee Gifford and Hoda: Dancing and Shenanigans. The New York crowd was very hostile in this segment which was the only enjoyable thing about it. Again, great talent wasted for this five minute segment of nothing.

- Segment with The Wyatt Family: A video on the TitanTron appeared with Bray Wyatt talking about setting Luke Harper free again.

- Mark Henry vs Bo Dallas: Mark Henry beats the life out of Dallas on the floor. Henry goes for the "World's Strongest Slam" on the floor, but Dallas escapes and rolls back into the ring before the ten count and wins by countout.

- In Ring Segment with Dean Ambrose: Ambrose says John Cena's been in his space and he doesn't like it. Calls Cena out to settle their issue now. Cena's music hits and out comes Cena. They agree that they don't like each other. Ambrose has no problem knocking Cena out and fighting The Authority alone if need be. Cena reminds Ambrose that The Authority put Ambrose out for five weeks. Cena says Ambrose has guts but Cena doesn't have an issue knocking Ambrose out right now too. Ambrose says he's going to eat at Coney Island and ride the Cyclone and Wonder Wheel, and tells Cena good luck alone tonight.

- Backstage Segment: During the commercial break, cameras followed Dean Ambrose. Ambrose gets on the subway train that leads to Coney Island.

- Backstage Segment with Triple H and John Cena: Triple H jokes about Ambrose leaving Cena alone tonight. Cena says he'll go through Randy Orton and Kane to get to Seth Rollins. Triple H promises he'll make sure Rollins start the match first.

- "Brie With One Hand Tied Behind Her Back": Brie Bella vs Summer Rae (w/Layla): Nikki Bella watches from the stage. Brie makes Summer smack into Layla and scores the pin with a knee to Summer's face.

- Backstage Segment with Kane, The Miz and Damien Sandow: Miz and Sandow sent Kane a fruit basket trying to apologize to The Authority. Kane says The Authority see right through Miz and order him to face Sheamus later.

- Jack Swagger (w/Zeb Colter) vs Tyson Kidd (w/Nattie Neidhart): Kidd goes for the "Sharpshooter". Swagger reverses into the "Patriot Lock" but Kidd escapes. Kidd goes to the top rope but Swagger knocks Kidd off the ropes and locks in the "Patriot Lock" making Kidd tap out.

- Edge and Christian promote WWE Network for only $9.99 and promote watching their Smackdown best of show on the Network after RAW.

- Roman Reigns is live via satellite and says he's been good since his hernia surgery, will get back to 100% and be back soon.

- El Torito (w/Los Matadores) vs Mini Gator Hornswoggle (w/Heath Slater and Titus O'Neil): El Torito wins as the New York fans chanted "This Is Stupid" and "Derek Jeter".

- In Ring Segment with Rusev and Lana: Lana says today is Russian President Putin's Birthday. Lana says Big Show should be in jail for what he did to the Russian Flag. Rusev says America is nothing and Big Show is a coward just like all of America are cowards. IF YOU SMEEEEELLLLLL WHAT THE ROCK IS COOKIN'! The most electrifying man in sports entertainment, The Rock, arrives, and is headed to the ring. Rock delivers his classic lines. Tells Lana and Rusev to know their role. Rock works out in the morning but doesn't pull his shorts up to his nipples like Rusev.
Rock tells Rusev he has a moose knuckle. Rock talks about hitting all five boroughs and chanting Derek Jeter just to get to RAW, setting up his "Finally The Rock has come back to Brooklyn" shtick. Lana tells Rock to shut up. Rock tells Lana to stop dressing like a Soviet street walker. Rusev calls Rock garbage and tells Rock to leave before Rusev crushes him. Rock tells Lana in person she's smoking hot but it's too bad she's walking around like someone shoved a Smirnoff bottle up her putin. Rusev gets angrier and begins speaking in Russian. Rock hits Rusev with the classic "It doesn't matter what you think" line. Rock calls Lana and Rusev international a-holes. Lana says Rusev is hungry, so Rock unloads punches to Rusev's face and sends Rusev to the floor. Rock dares Rusev to step back in the ring but Rusev and Lana leave.

- Paige and Alicia Fox vs A.J. Lee and Emma: A.J. walks out on Emma cause she wanted nothing to do with Emma. Paige hits the "Ram-Paige" on Emma for the pinfall.

- Segment with The Wyatt Family: Bray talks about setting Erick Rowan free.

- The Miz (w/Damien Sandow) vs Sheamus: Sheamus goes for the "Brogue Kick" but Sandow pulls Miz out of the ring. Sheamus goes for another "Brogue Kick" but Sandow jumps on the apron, shoves Miz out of the way and takes the hit. Miz rolls Sheamus up from behind for the pinfall. After the match, Sheamus grabs a steel chair and chases Miz and Sandow away.

- Joan Lunden advertised for breast cancer awareness month.

- Edge and Christian with more WWE Network advertising.

- "Handicap Match": Seth Rollins, Randy Orton and Kane vs John Cena: Rollins starts the match like Triple H promised, but Rollins tags out right away. Cena goes for "AA" on Rollins but he gets attacked by Orton and Kane causing a DQ. Kane choke slams Cena. Dean Ambrose returns with a hot dog cart. Ambrose squirts ketchup and mustard in Orton and Kane's face and runs them down with the hot dog cart. Ambrose slides into the ring and attacks Rollins. Cena hits Orton with an "AA" as Ambrose dumps sauerkraut and relish on Rollins. Cena hits "AA" on Kane as The Authority finally retreat. Triple H and Stephanie arrive and announce that at WWE Hell In A Cell it'll be Dean Ambrose vs John Cena with the winner meeting Seth Rollins inside Hell In A Cell. The show closes out with Ambrose laying Cena out with a DDT.

And that's a wrap on this week's RAW recap, till next time tap or snap.
