Weekend 3 Count: 4/6 - 4/12 #WWE #TNA #IMPACTWrestling

By @B_Rock1978

The Weekend 3 Count is brought to you by Triple Threat CLE. This week I bring you all the news and rumors around the WWE, TNA, GFW and the Independent wrestling scene for April 6th - April 12th.

*** Weekend Flashback ***

- Ok this is one of my guilty pleasure matches. Looking at it today, if a company did this now, it would be a very dumb idea. But for some reason this worked back in 1999 and everyone (including myself) marked out when it happened. Vince McMahon defeats Triple H on Smackdown to win the WWE World Heavyweight Championship.

*** WWE News and Rumors ***

- Randy Orton defeated Ryback and Roman Reigns this past RAW, to earn a WWE World Heavyweight Championship Match against Seth Rollins at Extreme Rules.

- John Cena was on Chris Jericho's podcast after RAW went off the air. Cena talked about Ohio Valley Wrestling, his old Prototype wrestling gimmick, growing up a bodybuilder, old and current WWE stories, personal stories and how it feels being booed all the time.

- It was announced this past Tuesday that Smackdown will be moving to the USA Network in 2016. USA Network will now be the home of RAW, Smackdown and the returning WWE Tough Enough.

- WWE have stated that they would love to do more work with UFC's Ronda Rousey. WWE have even mentioned a possible Rousey vs. Stephanie McMahon match at Wrestlemania 32. Stephanie commented recently that she would love to have that Wrestlemania moment she could be proud of. Fighting Rousey would definitely be a great moment.

- Ross and Marshall Von Erich announced that they will be given a WWE tryout in May. Ross and Marshall's father Kevin Von Erich officially announced the tryout on his Twitter page.

- DirecTV have stated that they may try to show WWE pay per view's again. Sources have said that both parties have met and there is a good possibility WWE would return to pay per view. DirecTV dropped WWE pay per views back in February of 2014, after a falling out, due to WWE creating the WWE Network and announcing all their pay per view's would be shown there.

- WWE has started a poll on WWE.com on who Sting's next opponent should be. The Undertaker is currently winning with 62% of the votes.

- WWE ring announcer, Lilian Garcia, will be out of announcing for a little while. Garcia recently had surgery to repair a torn meniscus in her knee.

*** TNA News and Rumors ***

- Destination America announced this week that thanks to TNA Impact, they have had a solid first quarter in channel ratings.

- This week on TNA Impact, Awesome Kong became the #1 Contender to the TNA Knockouts Championship.

- We found out on TNA Impact, that an 8 Man Tag Team Tournament would take place next week. The final four teams in the tournament will then go on to fight in an Ultimate X Match to crown new TNA World Tag Team Champions.

- Women's Independent wrestlers, Mia Yim and Marti Belle will be making their TNA debuts very soon.

*** GFW News and Rumors ***

- Nothing to report this week from Jeff Jarrett land.

*** Other Wrestling News ***

- Former TNA alumni, Christopher Daniels and Frankie Kazarian, became the new ROH World Tag Team Champions, last weekend.

- Former WWE Superstar, The Great Khali, has stated that he may be returning to the WWE soon. Khali left WWE six months ago and went back home to his home country of India. WWE responded by saying Khali's statement is false, he's not returning.

- Rey Mysterio, stated recently that he will be signing with Lucha Underground very soon.

- A few weeks ago, I mentioned how Scott Steiner was banned from the WWE Hall of Fame Ceremony, for allegedly, grabbing and threatening Hulk Hogan's wife at an airport. Sources are now stating that Steiner told Hogan's wife that he was going to kill the creator of Hulkamania when he landed. Steiner is currently being investigated for felony terrorist threats. Steiner commented on the whole incident and stated that he never once touched Hogan's wife, or threatened Hogan's life. All he said was he felt that Hogan inducting Randy Savage into the hall of fame was bullshit, because Hogan hated Savage and everyone knew that.

- Fans of podcast radio will be happy to know that Ric Flair's new podcast will be entitled "Woo Nation".

And that is this weekend's 3 Count. Join me every Sunday afternoon, where I give you the major stories in WWE, TNA, GFW and the independent wrestling scene. Till next time, tap or snap.
