Wrestling Lockup with Brandon, 9.23.14: RAW

By @BSA1978.

Wrestling Lockup with Brandon, brought to you by Triple Threat CLE is here with your RAW recap from last night. Last night's RAW was the first RAW after Night of Champions on Sunday. Going into last night's show, Brock Lesnar is still the WWE World Heavyweight Champion, Sheamus is still the United States Champion, The Miz is the NEW Intercontinental Champion, The Rhodes Brothers are the NEW World Tag Team Champions and A.J. Lee is the NEW Divas Champion. What would RAW have in store for us this week, live in Memphis, Tennessee, as we move forward to WWE Hell In A Cell in five weeks. Let's recap, shall we?

- In Ring Promo with Dean Ambrose and John Cena: The "Lunatic Fringe" Dean Ambrose returns and kicks off RAW. Ambrose, has been replaying in his mind, Seth Rollins and Corporate Kane busting the cinder block over his head last month. Tonight, Ambrose is The Authority until the actual Authority give him Seth Rollins on a silver platter. Ambrose takes a seat on a chair in the ring and waits patiently. John Cena's music hits and out comes Cena. Ambrose is not happy that Cena just interrupted his sit down. Cena says he and Ambrose have something in common. Cena's not happy with Rollins for costing him his shot at the WWE World Heavyweight Championship last night. Ambrose warned Cena to leave the ring and refused so now Ambrose has a problem with Cena. Ambrose and Cena prepare to fight, when The Authority arrive and are on stage. Triple H says Rollins isn't fighting anyone tonight. Cena and Ambrose, not caring to listen to The Game, charge The Authority and brawl with Randy Orton, Kane and Rollins. Ambrose and Cena both brawl with Rollins and chase him to the backstage area. Rollins takes out a WWE backstage hand, steals his car and drives off.

- Backstage Segment with The Authority: Triple H announces Kane vs Dean Ambrose and Randy Orton vs John Cena. Orton tells Triple H to tell Seth Rollins to stop starting fires he can't put out.

- "WWE Intercontinental Championship Match": The Miz (c) (w/Damien Sandow) vs Dolph Ziggler: Ziggler blocks the "Skull Crushing Finale". Ziggler gets caught by Miz in the figure four but Ziggler rope breaks it. Ziggler takes out Sandow who gets involved. Miz hits a "Skull Crushing Finale" after Sandow's distraction, but Ziggler kicks out. Sandow jumps on the apron but catches a super kick in the face from Ziggler. Miz rolls up Ziggler with a handful of tights but Ziggler reverses the rollup with a handful of tights of his own and scores the pinfall. Dolph Ziggler is the NEW Intercontinental Champion.

- Bo Dallas vs Jack Swagger (w/Zeb Colter): Swagger applies the "Patriot Lock" and Dallas taps out. Colter grabs a mic and says he "Bo-Lieves" Swagger just made Dallas tap out.

- Nattie Neidhart (w/Rosa Mendez) vs Summer Rae (w/Layla): Summer goes for a rollup but Nattie rolls out and locks in the "Sharpshooter". Summer taps out.

- Dean Ambrose vs Corporate Kane: Kane goes for the choke slam, Ambrose escapes and hits "Dirty Deeds". Seth Rollins hits the ring and we have another Rollins/Ambrose brawl. Right when Ambrose gained the upper hand Kane grabs Ambrose and drops Ambrose with the choke slam.

- Backstage with The Authority: Triple H tells Seth Rollins to stop starting fires he can't put out. Dean Ambrose appears and nails Rollins from behind and the Rollins/Ambrose brawl is on again. WWE Security grab Dean Ambrose and Stephanie McMahon tells them to lock Ambrose in a room.

- "Six Man Tag Match": Sheamus and The Usos vs Cesaro, Goldust and Stardust: The Usos suicide dive on Stardust and Cesaro. Jey "Superfly Splash" off the ropes but Goldust puts the knees up and then hits the "Final Cut". Sheamus breaks up the pin and we have a six man brawl. Jey hits the "Superfly Splash" on Goldust on the second attempt and scores the pinfall.

- Backstage Segment with Randy Orton and Seth Rollins: Rollins understands that Orton is sick of fighting Rollins' battles. Rollins says he appreciates it and has a surprise for Orton later. Orton likes surprises.

- In Ring Promo with Mark Henry: Henry apologizes for losing, knows he let America down and is heart broken. Rusev and Lana arrive. Lana says Henry doesn't need to apologize because Americans are pathetic just like him. Lana challenges Henry to face Rusev again tonight. Henry accepts and Lana tells Rusev to "crush".

- Mark Henry vs Rusev (w/Lana): Rusev works on Henry's lower back, Henry is less then 100%, still suffering from his back injury from Night of Champions. Henry mounts a come back, but it's short lived. Rusev locks Henry in "The Accolade" where Henry passes out from the pain.

- Adam Rose and The Bunny vs Heath Slater and Titus O' Neil: Rose hits the "Party Foul" on Slater after The Bunny spin kicks Slater for the pinfall.

- In Ring Promo with Nikki Bella: Nikki blames Brie for Nikki losing at Night of Champions and calls Brie out. Brie arrives. The sisters bicker back and forth more about growing up Bella. Nikki wants Brie to drop the Bella name. Nikki says Brie won't take Daniel Bryan's name because he's an ugly, broken down troll. Brie slaps Nikki then goes for a "Yes Lock" on Nikki but Nikki escapes the ring.

- A.J. Lee vs Nikki Bella: Paige is on commentary for this match. Nikki throws A.J. into Paige, knocking Paige out of her chair. A.J. locks Nikki in the "Black Widow" and Nikki taps out.

- Backstage Segment with Triple H: Triple H double checks with WWE security, making sure Dean Ambrose is still locked up.

- Randy Orton (w/Kane and Seth Rollins) vs John Cena: We see a large box at ringside which have held cinder blocks in the past. Orton goes for the "RKO" but Cena blocks and locks in the "STF". Rollins and Kane attack Cena causing the DQ. The Authority set Cena up for the cinder block to the head move. Kane lifts the box to reveal the cinder blocks but...surprise...it's Dean Ambrose under the box. Ambrose and Cena take out Kane and Orton as Seth Rollins jumps the barricade and escapes through the crowd. RAW closes out with Cena and Ambrose in the ring celebrating.

And that closes out this week's RAW, be sure to check back for the following recaps.

Wrestling Lockup with Brandon, 9.22.14: Night of Champions

By @BSA1978.

Wrestling Lockup with Brandon, brought to you by Triple Threat CLE, is here with your Night of Champions recap. Night of Champions took place live last night in Nashville, Tennessee. The show kicked off with the usual pre-game show, with Renee Young, Alex Riley, Booker T and Big Show going over tonight's card. We head to the ring for the return of former World Heavyweight Champion, Christian.

- The Peep Show with Christian, with guest Chris Jericho: Christian addresses his fans who welcome Christian back to the WWE. Christian welcomes Chris Jericho to his show as Jericho comes to the ring. Christian and Jericho trade friendly jabs about who was the leader in their old tag team. Jericho is about to talk about his opponent tonight, Randy Orton, when Orton interrupts on the titantron. Orton mocks Jericho's catchphrases. Jericho calls Orton a total jackass and says Orton will never...ever...be the same again after tonight.

Night of Champions goes live and we kick off with the WWE World Tag Team Championships on the line.

- "WWE World Tag Team Championship Match": The Usos (c) vs Goldust and Stardust: Stardust hits "Cross Rhodes" on Jey but Jey kicks out. The Usos go airbourne on the Rhodes Brothers on the floor, taking them out. Jey climbs the ropes and goes for the "Superfly Splash" but lands on Stardust's knees instead. Stardust rolls up Jey and grabs his tights for the pinfall. Goldust and Stardust are the NEW World Tag Team Champions.

- "WWE United States Championship Match": Sheamus (c) vs Cesaro: Cesaro ducks a "Brogue Kick" and rolls up Sheamus but Sheamus kicks out. Cesaro goes for " The Neutralizer" but Sheamus back body drops Cesaro, who lands on his feet. Cesaro dodges another "Brogue Kick" and hits a slam for another two count on Sheamus. Cesaro pounds on Sheamus in the corner and Sheamus wants him to bring more. Cesaro charges into the corner but catches the "Brogue Kick" right in the face. Sheamus covers and scores the pinfall to retain the United States Championship.

- Backstage Segment with Mark Henry and Big Show: Henry says he won't let America down tonight. Show says Henry has America as his tag team partner tonight and gets Henry pumped up.

- "WWE Intercontinental Championship Match": The Miz (w/Damien Sandow) vs. Dolph Ziggler (w/R-Truth): Country artists Florida Georgia Line are on commentary for this match. Sandow takes out R-Truth and gets in Florida Georgia Line's face. The country duo shove Sandow down and set up R-Truth to drop Sandow with a punch. Miz with a figure four on Ziggler but Ziggler escapes by rope break. Sandow jumps on the apron and catches a super kick in the face from Ziggler. Miz rolls Ziggler up from behind and scores the pinfall with a handful of tights. Miz is the NEW Intercontinental Champion.

- Seth Rollins vs. Roman Reigns: Rollins talks about Reigns' emergency surgery and demands a ten count by the referee to officially win the match. The referee makes the ten count and Rollins wins by forfeit. Rollins then throws out an open challenge to anyone in the backstage area. A taxi pulls in the parking lot and out pops Dean Ambrose. Ambrose hits the ring and unloads on Rollins. Ambrose and Rollins brawl all over the arena as Triple H sends out WWE security. Ambrose does a flying elbow and takes out all of WWE security and is back on Rollins, unloading on him. WWE security finally tackle Ambrose, handcuff him and carry him out of the arena.

- Mark Henry vs Rusev (w/Lana): Lilian Garcia sings the national anthem before this match starts. Henry hurts his back as Rusev tossed Henry into the ring steps. Henry gets a "World's Strongest Slam" on Rusev but can't capitalize. Rusev gets "The Accolade" applied on Henry and Henry taps out. Rusev celebrates after the match with the Russian Flag dropping from the rafters.

- Chris Jericho vs Randy Orton: Jericho blocked an "RKO" and hits a "Lionsault" on Orton. Orton goes for the punt kick but Jericho dodges and rolls Orton up for two. Jericho gets the "Walls of Jericho" locked on Orton. Orton fights out of the move, kicks Jericho to the floor then hits the drop DDT. Orton goes for the "RKO" but Jericho hits the "Code Breaker". Jericho climbs the ropes and waits for Orton. Orton hits the "RKO" on Jericho as he leaped off the top rope. Orton covers Jericho and scores the pinfall.

- "WWE Divas Championship, Triple Threat Match": Paige (c) vs A.J. Lee vs Nikki Bella: A.J. locked Nikki in the "Black Widow" but Paige kicks both girls in the head and gets a two count on both. We see a tower of doom suplex off the top rope by the trio. A.J. locks Paige in the "Black Widow" but Paige powers out. A.J. recoups and reapplies the "Black Widow" and this time Paige taps out. A.J. Lee is the NEW Divas Champion.

- "WWE World Heavyweight Championship Match": Brock Lesnar (c) vs John Cena: Cena with "AA" early but Lesnar kicks out. Lesnar locks in his armbar submission but Cena gets the rope break escape. Cena gets a good fight in during this match, not like last month when Lesnar owned him. Lesnar hits his version of "Three Amigos" and continues to ground and pound Cena in the corner and on the mat. Cena suffers a red welt on his side, courtesy of Lesnar knee to the rib shots. Cena blocks an "F5" and locks in the "STF", Lesnar reverse into the armbar submission. Cena lifts Lesnar up, hits an "AA" then locks in the "STF" again.
Lesnar tries to escape and Cena lifts Lesnar up and hits another "AA" and covers. Seth Rollins hits the ring and hits Cena with the money in the bank briefcase, ending the match by DQ. Rollins "Curb Stomps" Lesnar and looks to cash in his contract. Cena stops Rollins from cashing in and chases him from the ring. Lesnar drops Cena with an "F5" and leaves still WWE World Heavyweight Champion as Night of Champions comes to an end.

And that is your Night of Champions recap, I'll be back tomorrow with your RAW recap. Till then, tap or snap.

On The Mark 9.21.14: Browns Recap

Heartbreak Kids: Browns lose in last seconds to the Ravens 23-21
By @MarkW2112

The saying goes "same old Browns".  And while I hate that phrase, sadly, it was the same old Browns to end the game on Sunday as they lost 23-21 to the hated Baltimore Ravens on a game winning field goal by Justin Tucker with 4 seconds left in the game.  It was a frustrating end to a game that gave Browns fans hope and yet felt like the rug had been pulled out from them as has happened to them so many times in the last 15 years.  It leaves the Browns 1-2 before their bye week.

Brian Hoyer did have a great game, going 19-of-25 for 290 yards and a touchdown.  However, whether it was the play calling of Kyle Shanahan or his own execution, he could secure a first down with 2:30 left in the game.  His incomplete pass to Andrew Hawkins was the same type of death knell that the Browns went through in week one against the Steelers.  Both Terrance West and Isaiah Crowell had touchdowns and some good plays but also made rookie mistakes.  Andrew Hawkins made some huge plays as well, setting up Crowell's touchdown.  Mile Austin also had a touchdown.

Joe Flacco, who was barely touched all day by the Browns "swarming" defense, was 19-of-31 for 217 yards and an INT but did just enough to win the game.  The biggest surprise was the running of Lorenzo Taliaferro, who ran for 91 yards and touchdown.  He bruised his way through big holes opened up by his offensive line and was a pain the side of the Browns defense all day.  Another pain was local product Kyle Juszczyk, who scored a touchdown and mocked LeBron James and his powder toss to taunt the Dawg Pound.  It appears he will get some looks going forward with the possible season ending injury to Dennis Pitta.  Steve Smith was responsible for the game winning catch that helped set up the winning field goal.

My take: this game was frustrating on so many levels.  Bad execution and bad coaching allowed the Ravens to stick around when the Browns should have won the game.  A missed 50 yard field goal by Billy Cundiff and blocked FG on a blown blocking assignment by Billy Winn cost the Browns this game.  Questionable calls by the refs didn't help matter either.  It was a bad day all around for the Browns.  They'll have 2 weeks to stew in this mess of a game.

Next up for the Browns; a week 4 bye.  Then on to Tennessee where they'll meet the very bad Titans October 5.  Hopefully the Browns won't pull a "same old Browns" and will be prepared to beat their opponent.

Wrestling Lockup with Brandon, 9.21.14: Night of Champions Preview

By @BSA1978.

Wrestling Lockup with Brandon, brought to you by Triple Threat CLE, comes to you with a special Night of Champions preview for tonight's "special event". Night of Champions starts with the pre-show at 7:30 and the "special event" at 8:00, live from Nashville, Tennessee.

- "WWE World Heavyweight Championship Match": Brock Lesnar (c) vs John Cena: This match serves as the rematch to last month's SummerSlam match between the two. SummerSlam saw John Cena suffer probably the worst loss of his professional career as Brock Lesnar ran Cena over with ease. 16 German suplexes and 2 "F-5's" later, Lesnar walked out the champion. John Cena vows to avenge his defeat, prove that his career is far from done and get back the WWE World Heavyweight Championship. Brock Lesnar vows to destroy and rid the Universe of Cena once and for all.

- "WWE Intercontinental Championship Match": Dolph Ziggler (c) vs The Miz: This match serves as a rematch from last month's SummerSlam event. At SummerSlam, Ziggler defeated Miz to win the WWE I-C Title. Miz demanded his rematch and now has Damien Sandow in his corner as his "Hollywood Stunt Double". Ziggler looks to drop the self proclaimed "Hollywood A-Lister" and his "Hollywood Stunt Double" from this sequel match. Ziggler has also enlisted his own "stunt double" in his corner. R-Truth has been watching Ziggler's back for the past few weeks and may possibly back Ziggler tonight.

- "WWE United States Championship Match": Sheamus (c) vs Cesaro: Cesaro earned the right to face Sheamus a few weeks back, by winning a #1 Contender's Match. Cesaro looks to become a 2-Time U.S. Champion. Sheamus and Cesaro both love a good fight and that is exactly what the "King of Swing" and the "Celtic Warrior" will give us.

- "WWE Divas Championship Match": Paige (c) vs A.J. Lee vs Nikki Bella: As a reward for turning on Brie Bella, Stephanie McMahon, has announced Nikki Bella as the new face of the WWE Divas Division. Meanwhile, Paige and A.J., are in a feud of their own over the Divas Championship, that's filled with love, hate, respect and "craziness".

- "WWE World Tag Team Championship Match": The Usos (c) vs Goldust and Stardust: What started as a respectful title shot from The Usos to the Rhodes Brothers, turned violent. The Rhodes Brothers failed to win the titles and turned heel on The Usos, beating down The Usos and taking out Jey's knee in the process. The bizarre brothers look to finally defeat The Usos and leave with their "cosmic keys" (Tag Titles). The Usos look to avenge Jey's injury and send the brothers back to bizarre world.

- Rusev (w/Lana) vs Mark Henry: Mark Henry stood up for America during another Lana anti-America rant. Rusev seemed to back down from Henry's weekly challenges as he would do just that when Henry would arrive. Lana finally accepted Henry's challenge for Night of Champions and guaranteed another Rusev "crushing". Henry, a former U.S. Olympic, promises to induct Rusev into the hall of pain.

- Roman Reigns vs Seth Rollins: The former Shield members were supposed to have a rematch from their first bout on RAW last week. Roman Reigns, however, had to have emergency surgery for an incarcerated hernia over the weekend. Reigns will miss Night of Champions and it is unknown if there will be an opponent replacing Reigns or if the match will be dropped from the card. There have been rumors circulating that we could see the return of Dean Ambrose to take Reigns' spot, but it is still unclear at the moment.

- Randy Orton vs Chris Jericho: This match was signed after Randy Orton attacked Chris Jericho from behind in the medical room after Jericho injured his knee against Bray Wyatt. Orton looks to return to being the face of The Authority, Chris Jericho looks to get revenge on Orton.

And that is the card as of right now. There was also talk of Christian making a return on the pre-game show and hosting a special Peep Show segment. I'll return tomorrow afternoon with the Night of Champions recap. Until then, tap or snap.

Wrestling Lockup with Brandon, 9.21.14: Smackdown

By @BSA1978.

Wrestling Lockup with Brandon is here again and as always it's brought to you by Triple Threat CLE. It's the last Smackdown show before this Sunday's Night of Champions special event on WWE Network. The show kicks off with a singles match between two teams that will meet at Night of Champions for the WWE World Tag Team Championship, The Usos and The Rhodes Brothers.

- Jimmy Uso (w/Jey Uso) vs Stardust (w/Goldust): Jimmy misses a super kick attempt, but rebounds and nails the second attempt on Stardust to score the pinfall. After the match, Goldust gets involved, but catches double super kicks from brothers Uso.

- Sheamus and Dolph Ziggler (w/R-Truth) vs. The Miz and Cesaro (w/Damien Sandow): R-Truth and Sandow brawl with each other on the floor. Miz nails a DDT on Sheamus and signals for the finish. Ziggler catches Miz's attention and Sheamus capitalized by hitting the "Brogue Kick" on Miz. Sheamus covers and scores the pinfall.

- Heath Slater (w/Titus O'Neil) vs Adam Rose (w/The Exotic Express): Rose gets his ankle grabbed by O'Neil which angers The Bunny. The Bunny suicide dives over the ropes and takes out O'Neil. A "Party Foul" on Slater and Rose scores the pinfall.

- "Six Man Tag Match": Big Show and Los Matadores vs. The Wyatt Family: Big Show and Rowan brawl on the floor. Diego takes Harper out on the floor with a suicide dive. Diego slides back into the ring and walks right into "Sister Abigail" from Bray Wyatt. Bray covers and scores the pinfall.

- Backstage Promo with Roman Reigns: Says he'll defeat Rusev tonight in the main event and will defeat Seth Rollins at Night of Champions just like he did on RAW.

- Paige vs Nikki Bella: A.J. Punk....I mean A.J. Lee is on commentary tonight for this match. Paige hits the "Paige-Turner" on Nikki to score the pinfall. After the match, A.J. grabs Paige's Divas Championship and goes to deliver it to Paige. Nikki grabs the title and lays both Divas out with it, sending a message to them for their triple threat match at Night of Champions.

- Jack Swagger (w/Zeb Colter) vs. Bo Dallas: Dallas delivers a "Bo-Dog" on Swagger and scores the pinfall. After the match, Dallas grabs a mic and it's promo time. Dallas makes fun of Swagger for following Zeb Colter. Dallas is about to deliver his inspirational "Bo-Lieve" line when Swagger kicks Dallas, sending Dallas rolling to the floor.

- Backstage Promo with Mark Henry: Says he feels good about his match with Rusev at Night of Champions. Beating Rusev will be redemption for when he lost to a Russian in the 92' Olympics.

- Roman Reigns vs. Rusev (w/Lana): Reigns sets Rusev up for the "Superman Punch" but Seth Rollins appears at ringside for the distraction. Rusev hits Reigns from behind and goes for "The Accolade". Reigns escapes as Rollins climbs the top rope, briefcase in hand, and leaps off at Reigns. Reigns moves causing Rollins to hit Rusev with the briefcase and getting Reigns DQ'ed. After the match Reigns and Rollins brawl into the crowd as Rusev and Lana celebrate in the ring. Mark Henry hits the ring as the U.S. Flag drops from the rafters. Rusev and Henry charge at each other. Henry lifts Rusev and plants him with the "World's Strongest Slam" as Smackdown comes to an end.

And that closes this week's Smackdown recap. Be sure to return for the following recaps this week.

The Puck Drops Here 9.19.14

By @CLulovics

This past week the Columbus Blue Jackets prospects took part in the Traverse City tournament. The prospect tournament is a traditional tournament where the younger guys bond and gives the organization a glimpse into the future. The young Blue Jackets went 4-0 capturing the organizations third championship in history. They opened the tournament against the Minnesota Wild winning by a 6-4 score. Then went on to defeat the Detroit Red Wings (5-3) and the St. Louis Blues (7-2) before defeating the Dallas Stars 3-2 in overtime.

Training camp has officially opened and everyone passed their physicals except for Nathan Horton who is recovering from back issues. The shoulder issue that had sidelined him for most of last year along with other issues he had to deal with have fully recovered. Horton is expected to miss most if not all of camp and perhaps the start of the season but is expected back 100% unlike last year where he dealt with injuries.

Ryan Johansen has still not been signed as camp opened up on 9/18. The two sides are still apart after a "bridge deal" (a deal where the contract expires before the player enters RFA and is still a UFA) of 2-3 years was being discussed. After contracts of 2 years, $6 million; 6 years at $32 million and 8 years at $46 million were turned down by Johansen's agent. Things could turn ugly if a contract is not settled upon soon as with any athlete in any sport during negotiations fans/ownership/teamates start to get upset.

Preseason games began on Sunday, September 21. The Blue Jackets will play the St. Louis Blues 9/21 and the Carolina Hurricanes 9/21 in a split squad game with the Blues being at home and the Hurricanes on the road. Then they are at home against Pittsburgh to take on the Penguins on 9/23. They hit the road to take on the St. Louis on 9/25 and again on the road against the Penguins on 9/27 which can be seen on the NHL Network at 4pm. The last two preseason games are at home against the Hurricanes on 10/1 and finishing up against the Nashville Predators on 10/4 before opening up the regular season on the road against the Buffalo Sabres on 10/9 and then that Saturday the home opener on 10/11 against the New York Rangers. All regular season games can be seen on FSO Ohio.

Wrestling Lockup with Brandon, 9.18.14: TNA Impact

By @BSA1978.

Wrestling Lockup with Brandon, brought to you by Triple Threat CLE is here with your TNA Impact recap for the week. Last nights Impact was the No Surrender made for TV pay per view. The show kicks off with a Knockouts Battle Royal.

- "Knockouts Battle Royal": Newcomer Havok, goes nuts on all the other knockouts, early in the match. The other knockouts try to gang up on Havok, Havok easily tosses Madison Rayne and Taryn Terrell to the floor. Havok next eliminates Brittany, as Brittany gave it her all on Havok. Angelina Love eliminates herself, probably making the smartest decision of the night in this match. Rebel climbs to the top rope but gets spun off the ropes and bounced from the steps to the floor by Havok. We're down to Havok and Velvet Sky as the final two. Havok attempts the "Air Raid Crash" but Sky slips out and applies a sleeper. Havok misses a leg drop allowing Sky to run the ropes and go for a crossbody block. Havok catches Sky and dumps her to the floor for the victory.

- Backstage Segment with Gunner and Samuel Shaw: Gunner tells Shaw he needs to go back to his therapist. Shaw hates the idea so Gunner mentions Brittany asking about him last week and how he should go get some of that. Shaw says he has his sights set on someone else.

- In Ring Promo with MVP and Kenny King: MVP says Bobby Lashley will crush Bobby Roode's chance at winning the TNA World Title tonight. MVP invites Sgt. Chris Melendez out next and out comes Melendez. MVP thanks Melendez for his military service and King offers Melendez a spot in MVP's group. Melendez turns down the offer. King accuses Melendez of thinking he's too good for them and demands a match with Melendez right now. MVP distracts Melendez allowing King to attack Melendez from behind and we have an impromptu match.

- Kenny King vs Sgt. Chris Melendez: King goes for the "Coronation" on Melendez. Melendez escapes and sunset flips King for the pinfall. After the match King hits a "Royal Flush" on Melendez. King disrespects Melendez on the mic and threatens to stick Melendez's prosthetic leg up his ass. As King tries to rip Melendez's leg off, Mr. Anderson hits the ring and makes the save.

- "X-Division Title Match": Samoa Joe (c) vs Homicide: Homicide blocks the "Musclebuster" and hits a tornado DDT. Homicide hits an ace crusher then goes for the "Cop Killa". Joe breaks out of that so Homicide goes for another ace crusher. Joe steps into the move and locks in the "Kokina Clutch" in midair. Homicide tries to fight it but eventually taps out. Joe retains the X-Division Title. After the match Joe and Homicide go to shake hands but James Storm, The Great Sanada and Manik hit the ring and attack Joe and Homicide. Manik comes off the top rope with a frog splash on Homicide as he and Joe are left laid out.

- Backstage Promo with The Wolves: The Wolves came into the series with something to prove and their legacy is on the line tonight. Tonight they scale the ladder and take what is theirs because the hunt never dies.

- Backstage Segment with Bobby Roode and Eric Young: They talk about how crazy things have been this year for both men. When Roode wins the TNA World Title tonight things will really get crazy.

- "Tag Team Title Series Match #3, Ladder Match": The Wolves vs The Hardy Boys vs Team 3D: The Wolves go airbourne and take out both teams early. Jeff misses "Whisper in the Wind" and takes a hard bump on a ladder. Team 3D hit the wazzup off the ladder on Davey Richards but get taken out with a ladder by Matt afterwards. Bully Ray power bombs Jeff on a ladder. The Wolves double power bomb Bully off the ladder. Matt hits a "Twist of Fate" off the ladder on Eddie Edwards. Bully superplexes Jeff off the ladder. Team 3D hit the "Doomsday Device" on Richards. Jeff hits "Poetry in Motion" on Richards into a ladder. The Wolves unload chair shots on the Hardy's and Matt gets double stomped through a table by Richards. Edwards and Jeff are climbing on side by side ladders. Edwards kicks Jeff off his ladder, then grabs the tag titles for the victory as Richards stops Bully Ray from interfering.

- Bram vs Gunner: This match was just an all out brawl. Gunner appeared to hurt his knee as Bram took advantage by slamming the leg into the ring steps. Samuel Shaw comes out as Gunner continued to get a beating on his leg. Gunner goes for a power bomb but his leg gives out and Bram falls on top of him. Shaw gets in the ring to make the save but accidentally hits Gunner. Bram throws Shaw to the floor then rolls Gunner up with a handful of tights for the pinfall. After the match Gunner yells at Shaw for interfering and walks off.

- Backstage Promo with Gail Kim: She has no problem with Havok gunning for her Knockouts Title. Doesn't like how Havok decided to just hurt people to get a title shot. Tells Havok that she's ready and to bring it.

- "TNA World Title Match": Bobby Lashley (c) vs Bobby Roode: MVP and Kenny King are ringside with Bobby Lashley for this match. MVP and King get ejected from the match by the referee, after getting involved in the match. Roode dodges a spear and locks Lashley in a crippler crossface. King back out grabs Roode's leg and breaks up the submission. Eric Young hits the ring and brawls with King on the floor. Lashley hits the spear on Roode but Roode kicks out at two, stunning Lashley. Lashley tries to use his title for a weapon and swings at Roode. Roode ducks, hits a Roode Bomb and covers Lashley, but Lashley kicks out at two. Both men trade punches and pinfall attempts as Lashley hits a power slam and Roode hits a spine buster. Roode gives Lashley the Roode Bomb over the top rope and Lashley crashes on the floor. Lashley goes for another spear but Roode leapfrogs Lashley, landing gingerly on his leg. Roode goes for the Roode Bomb but his leg gives out and Lashley finally hits a spear attempt. Lashley covers Roode and scores the pinfall. Impact closes out with Bobby Lashley STILL TNA World Heavyweight Champion.

On The Mark 9.18.14: Browns vs. Ravens Preview

By @MarkW2112

Since there's no Buckeyes game to preview this weekend, I thought it would be fun to preview the Browns instead!

The Cleveland Browns come in to Sunday's division matchup against the Cleveland Browns...err...Baltimore Ravens with both teams owning a 1-1 record.  To say that, after only 3 games, this match up is huge for both teams is an understatement.

The Browns could easily be 2-0 or, just as easily, be 0-2.  The second half the Pittsburgh Steelers game gave hope to Browns fans that perhaps this was a different team than the ones of the past 7 years.  They showed that perhaps they were with their stunning 26-24 victory over a very talented New Orleans Saints team.  The Browns won with complicated defensive formations and a quarterback in Brian Hoyer who willed his team to victory with an 85 yard game winning drive, as Billy Cundiff hit his field goal with 3 seconds left in the game.  It was an awe inspiring victory of perseverance and toughness on both sides of the ball for the Browns.

This weekend comes a new challenge; a Ravens team that is known for it's hard hitting, turnover producing style defense.  Talented nose tackle Haloti Ngata and defensive end Terrell Suggs lead the defensive front while Jimmy Smith has emerged as a shutdown type cornerback in the first 2 games of the season.  The Browns will need to run the ball with success as they start their rookie running backs Terrance West and Isaiah Crowell.  They will both need to hold on to the ball as the Ravens have mastered the art of stripping the ball from opponents hands.  Brian Hoyer will need to continue his play it safe role to keep the ball out of the hands of the defensive backs and linebackers.  If Jordon Cameron does return this weekend, it will be a big help.

The Browns defensive line, led by Paul Kruger, can contain the less than spectacular running game of the Ravens, who are now without Ray Rice.  They will also need to keep the blitz coming to contain Joe Flacco from finding  Steve Smith, who has come on strong so far this year.  Torrey Smith is also a down field weapon along with Dennis Pitta. who needs to be contained by Craig Robertson and/or Chris Kirksey.  With Barkevious Mingo looking to return, the defensive line should be fresh throughout the game to keep the attacking defense coming.

My take: this is a winnable game for the Browns.  But they need to keep playing mistake free football in order to win.  If Hoyer can keep from throwing interceptions and the young running backs can keep their hands on the ball, I say the Browns can win by a touchdown.  If the Ravens have their way on D, it's going to be a long day for the Browns defense.

Prediction: it will be a close, nail biting game until the end.  Which ever team wins, it will be by a touchdown or less.

By @ClvlndK8

Well, friends, it was a brutal weekend for the Big Ten, winning only 4 games out of 11. Yikes. This is not the way to show the nation that we are a power conference! Any way... Penn State and Nebraska are unsurprisingly leading their divisions with 3-0 records at this point and just may be the teams to beat.

Indiana: The Hoosiers lost a shoot-out to Bowling Green and their backup QB 45-42. While their offense looked good, their defense was horrendous. Their were 9 touchdowns scored in the second half! Coach Kevin Wilson is taking a lot of heat and rumor has it his job in on the line. When your record shows 14 games that were decided by a TD or less, and you lose 11 of those, you can't expect fans to be very happy with you.

Northwestern: The Big Purple Machine will be wearing their White Helmets this Saturday when they face off against the Western Illinois Fighting Leathernecks. Uh, yeah. Ok. That's really the top story this week in Evanston? I guess it's better than talking about the underwhelming performances from the offense. The transfer of Venric Mark to West Texas A&M has left them without the services of their All-American punt returner and one of the top running backs in the Big Ten. He missed most of last season with an injury but big things were expected for him this year. Then he gets suspended for the first two games of this season for "violating team policy" and suddenly, wah wah wah, he's leaving NW and moving on. Add to that the season-ending knee injury to their best WR Christian Jones and you've got the makings of an offensive disaster. While they have quite a few promising kids to take on the RB role, namely Treyvon Green and Stephen Buckley, they just haven't gotten it done behind a pretty awful offensive line. I've always had a soft spot for Northwestern and seeing the mess going on for them this year just makes me sad.

Illinois: From Brian Hamilton (@BrianHamiltonSI) we have the story of infighting and trolling amongst the many esteemed football programs in the state of Illinois. Ok, I'm being a bit sarcastic, but it seems the alumni association of Northern Illinois University took out a full page ad in the Chicago Tribune to poke a bit of fun at our B1G Illini. Better watch out, Huskies, or you'll be the one getting bitten!

Respectfully Submitted,

Cleveland Kate
