Wrestling Lockup with Brandon, 3.2.16: TNA Impact

Wrestling Lockup with Brandon, brought to you by Triple Threat CLE, has returned with your TNA Impact Recap Edition.

TNA Impact took place in London, England, one week removed from their Lockdown made for TV pay per view. Kurt Angle continued his retirement tour, taking on Bobby Roode one on one. Abyss faced Jimmy Havok in a Monster's Ball Match. Gail Kim calls out Maria Bennett. Eric Young defended the TNA King of the Mountain Championship against UK Independent Wrestler Big Damo. The miracle, Mike Bennett battled Drew Galloway one on one. Ethan Carter faced his former best friend Rockstar Spud in an Unsanctioned Match, in the main event.

*** Impact ***

- Backstage, Rockstar Spud greats Matt Hardy and Hardy calls Spud his "#1 Man". Matt, Reby and Tyrus all tell Spud they're proud of him.

- Kurt Angle vs. Bobby Roode: The match closes out with, Roode applying the cross face submission, but Angle counters into the Ankle Lock submission. Roode rolls through and reapplies the cross face submission. Angle counters out for a near fall rollup. Angle misses a clothesline and ends up in the cross face submission again. Angle escapes and hits the Angle Slam on Roode for a near fall. Angle goes for the Ankle Lock submission, but Roode counters with an enziguri, followed by the Roode Bomb for a near fall. Angle traps Roode in the Ankle Lock submission again and applies the pressure, finally forcing Roode to tap out.
Winner: Kurt Angle, by submission.

- Kurt Angle and Bobby Roode Promo: After the match, Angle and Roode go face to face. Roode says there's no shame in losing to Angle, one of the greatest wrestlers of all time. Roode thanks Angle for everything, says he loves him and they share a manly hug. James Storm comes down to the ring and also thanks Angle for everything he's done, his friendship is priceless, says he loves Angle too and shares a manly hug as well. Storm gives Angle a carton of milk and tells him to chug it. Angle talks about his last match against Bobby Lashley and says he'd love to see The Wolves vs. Beer Money. The Wolves arrive now and say that Angle is an inspiration and if the fans want The Wolves vs. Beer Money for the tag team titles, then they won't disappoint them. Both teams state that they are both the best and agree to have a match next week for the TNA World Tag Team Championship.

- Matt Hardy Promo: Matt says he's beaten Ethan Carter so many times now that it's getting boring, he's done with EC3, no more chances for EC3 and Matt's moving on. Matt calls down Rockstar Spud to pay homage to him. Spud arrives and says everyone that lives in a dump sells out one day, never forgave EC3 for the hell he put him through last year and can't believe the UK crowd is cheering for EC3 instead of their own hometown hero, Rockstar Spud. Spud says everyone is jealous, what he did to EC3 was revenge and now dedicates his life to the Matt Hardy Brand. EC3 hits the ring with a steel chair and unloads on Tyrus. EC3 counters a Twist Of Fate from Hardy with a clothesline. EC3 and Spud stare each other down until Spud runs. EC3 announces that tonight it'll be EC3 vs. Rockstar Spud in an Unsanctioned, Anything Goes with no referee match.

- Backstage, Gail Kim says Maria Bennett proved last week how selfish she is and only cares about herself.

- "Monster's Ball Match": Abyss vs. Jimmy Havok: The match closes out with, Abyss tossing a chair at Havok, knocking off the top rope and through a table outside. Rosemary hands Abyss "Janice" and Abyss swings at Havok. Havok ducks, drop kicks Abyss through a table and gets a near fall. Havok grabs a barbed wire board and "Janice". Abyss stops Havok from swinging and goes for a choke slam. Havok escapes and goes for some kendo stick shots on Abyss. Abyss grabs Havok, plants him with the Black Hole Slam and scores the pinfall.
Winner: Abyss, by pinfall.

- Gail Kim Promo: Gail says she needs to address Maria Bennett. Gail says the Knockout's have always been about excellence and wrestling and she got into this business cause she loves wrestling. Gail says last week Maria showed her true colors and is all talk and no action. Gail calls Maria out and Maria arrives. Maria declines fighting Gail, is proud of what she did last week and Gail is nothing compared to her. Gail calls Maria a crazy ass bitch. Maria says Gail always wanted to be famous and she married a restaurant reality star. Maria is proud that she was on The Apprentice with Donald Trump, posed for Playboy, is the first lady of wrestling and will not wrestle cause she's a lady. Gail attacks Maria, as Jade makes the save for Maria. Jade lands a spin kick and hits Gail with her TNA Knockout's Championship. Jade holds up the title and tells Gail she's coming for the championship.

- Backstage, Matt Hardy blames Dixie Carter for not firing Ethan Carter. Dixie blames Matt for being a manipulator. Matt can't believe Dixie is siding with EC3 after everything he's done to her. Dixie says she's done dealing with the issue and approves the EC3 vs. Rockstar Spud Unsanctioned Match.

- Eric Young Promo: EY says he's the TNA King of the Mountain Champion and there is not one person in the United Kingdom that can beat him. UK independent wrestler, Big Damo, arrives and accepts the challenge.

- "TNA King of the Mountain Championship Match": Eric Young (c) vs. Big Damo: The match closes out with Damo landing a powerbomb and an elbow drop on EY for a near fall. EY lands punches on Damo, but Damo bounces back with a flying crossbody to EY for a near fall. Bram gets on the apron, but gets knocked off by Damo. Damo goes for a senton on EY, but EY gets his knees up for the block. EY hits the piledriver on Damo and scores the pinfall.
Winner: Eric Young, by pinfall, to retain the TNA King of the Mountain Championship.

- Backstage, Ethan Carter says Rockstar Spud is a cow headed to its slaughter and he will take every last breath away from Spud.

- Mike Bennett vs. Drew Galloway: The match closes out with, Galloway hitting a spine buster on Bennett for a near fall. Bennett comes back and hits an ace crusher on Galloway for a near fall. Bennett hits a forearm and goes for Miracle In Progress. Galloway counters and drops Bennett with the Celtic Cross and follows with the Claymore. Galloway locks Bennett in the Iron Maiden submission, but Maria reaches in and puts Bennett's foot on the ropes to break the submission. Maria distracts Galloway, allowing Bennett to score the rollup pinfall on Galloway.
Winner: Mike Bennett, by pinfall.

- Outside the building, Grado says he has proof that he was screwed over in the Feast Or Fired Match.

- "Unsanctioned Match": Ethan Carter vs. Rockstar Spud: EC3 gets attacked by Tyrus in the parking lot. Matt Hardy attacks EC3 from behind next. EC3 locks Matt inside a production truck and finally gets his hands on Spud, as they brawl to the ring. The match closes out with, EC3 hitting a TKO on Spud and Spud tries to crawl away. EC3 grabs a table, but Spud drop kicks EC3. EC3 catches Spud in mid air and hits a slam. Spud tries to crawl away again, but gets tossed back in the ring. Spud lands a low blow on EC3 and slaps EC3 in the face. EC3 counters a Spud punch and hits a power bomb on Spud, right through the table. EC3 begins to choke the life out of Spud and refuses to release his grip, as TNA officials have seen enough and storm the ring. The TNA officials finally pull EC3 off Spud to end the show. 
Winner: Ethan Carter, by referee stoppage.

Wrestling Lockup with Brandon, brought to you by Triple Threat CLE, has returned with your TNA Impact Recap Edition.

TNA Impact took place in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, this week. This week Matt Hardy puts it all on the line, as he battles Ethan Carter in a Last Man Standing Match for the TNA World Heavyweight Championship and with Matt Hardy's career on the line. Will we see a new champion crowned, or the end of a Hardy in TNA? Kurt Angle searches for his next opponent in his "Retirement Tour". Awesome Kong gets a shot at Gail Kim and the TNA Knockout's Championship.

*** TNA Impact ***

- Jeff Hardy Promo: Jeff calls out brother Matt and wants to talk about the career decision he made with EC3. Jeff calls the Hardys risk takers, complements Matt on making Jeff the man he is today, but calls Matt's decision risky. Matt says he let his family down, his career is at a cross roads, but he'll beat EC3 tonight and put everything back in line. Matt says he'll make everyone proud and Jeff finally approves. Tyrus interrupts and heads to the ring. Tyrus says Matt made a mistake and his time in TNA is over. Tyrus says everything he's done in TNA has been about business, Jeff made things personal making fun of Tyrus and Tyrus demands a match with Jeff.

- Tyrus vs. Jeff Hardy: The match closes out with, Tyrus working on Jeff's leg. Tyrus drags Jeff to the ring post and grabs a steel chair. The referee orders Tyrus to drop the chair, but Tyrus shoves the referee away and catches a DQ. After the match, Tyrus goes for his Spike finisher, but Jeff counters with a Twist Of Fate.
Winner: Jeff Hardy, by DQ.

- TNA announces the return of Feast Or Fired next week.

- Backstage, The Wolves talk about Beer Money and saving them for last after beating the best teams in TNA. Abyss attacks from behind and Crazy Steve laughs at The Wolves.

- "TNA Knockout's Championship Match": Gail Kim (c) vs. Awesome Kong: The match closes out with, Jade of The Dollhouse distracting Gail. Gail wipes out The Dollhouse with a cross body. Gail hits Kong with a couple clotheslines and a neck breaker for a near fall. Jade again gets on the apron, but The Beautiful People arrive to help Gail. BP and DH brawl on the floor. Gail hits Eat Defeat on Kong and drops Jade on top of Kong to score the pinfall.
Winner: Gail Kim, by pinfall, to retain the TNA Knockout's Championship.

- Beer Money Promo: Storm and Roode call out Eric Young and Bram cause they want to kick some ass tonight. Eli Drake and Jessie Godderz interrupt instead. Godderz and Eli say that Beer Money should be called Midlife Crisis and they'll break them. Storm says they wrote a check their ass can't cash. Storm and Roode begin brawling with Eli and Godderz, setting up an impromptu match.

- Eli Drake and Jessie Godderz vs. Beer Money: The match closes out with Eli and Godderz in control, but Beer Money come back and quickly end Eli and Godderz with the double team DWI for the pinfall.
Winners: Beer Money, by pinfall.

- Kurt Angle Promo: Angle says every bump he's taken the past 20 years has been worth it, he's proud of the match he had with Drew Galloway last week and wants to have more five star matches. Bobby Lashley appears and interrupts Angle. Lashley talks about his history with Angle, how much he respects Angle and would like one more match against him. Angle accepts Lashley's challenge. Lashley promises to whip Angle's ass.

- Mike Bennett vs. Pepper Parks: The match closes out with, Bennett making quick work of Parks. Bennett hits a clothesline, a running boot, a vertical suplex, a spine buster and finally the Falcon Arrow to score the pinfall.
Winner: Mike Bennett, by pinfall.

- Backstage Matt and Reby Hardy talk Jeff Hardy into going to the hospital to get his leg looked at. Matt promises Jeff that everything will be ok if he leaves the arena.

- Backstage, Ethan Carter says Matt Hardy can't beat him and promises to send Hardy home without his career and in an ambulance.

- "TNA World Heavyweight Championship, Last Man Standing Match (Matt Hardy's Career On The Line)": Ethan Carter (c) vs. Matt Hardy: The match closes out with, Matt countering a TKO with a Twist Of Fate. Matt than low blows EC3 and hits another Twist Of Fate. Matt takes EC3 to the apron and hits a third Twist Of Fate off the apron and through two tables. EC3 gets up at 9. Matt lands another Twist Of Fate with EC3's head in between a chair. EC3 gets up at 9. Reby Hardy tosses Matt a hammer to use, but EC3 lands a low blow and hits the One Percenter. Tyrus hits the ring and turns his back on EC3 by dropping him with the Big Ending. EC3 stunned over Tyrus' turn is still able to get up at 9. Matt grabs the TNA World Heavyweight Championship and uses the title to beat EC3 unconscious. EC3 is counted out and Matt Hardy wins the TNA World Heavyweight Championship.
Winner: Matt Hardy, by Knockout, to win the TNA World Heavyweight Championship.

- Matt Hardy HEEL TURN Promo: Matt says he's the real champion, he just beat the unbeatable, calls the TNA fans insignificant, his wife Reby helped him open his eyes and realize if he wanted something bad than he'd just take it. Matt says Tyrus made the right business decision by joining with Matt and we are now entering the "Big Money Matt" Era of TNA. Matt grabs a steel chair and drives it down across the back of EC3's head and Reby spits on EC3 to end the show.

- This week's Impact took place at the Impact Zone in Orlando, Florida. Some highlights to this weeks show included: The TNA World Title Series continued, as TNA looks to crown a new TNA World Heavyweight Champion.

- Robbie E Promo: Robbie E says everyone wants to be like him, even Rob Gronkowski of the New England Patriots, who wants to now be called Robbie G. Robbie E challenges Robbie G to a match.

- Matt Hardy defeated Davey Richards, by pinfall: The match closes out with Hardy going for the Twist Of Fate, but Richards counters into Creeping Death, which Hardy counters into another Twist Of Fate, but Richards again counters with a near fall back slide. Richards sits Hardy on the top rope and goes for the superplex. Hardy knocks Richards off, but eats a boot as Hardy leaped off toward Richards. Richards goes for the double stomp, but Hardy dodges it. Hardy gets back up and hits the Twist Of Fate, covers and scores the pinfall. Matt Hardy picks up 3 points for the pinfall.

- Kenny King defeated Aiden O'Shea, by pinfall: The match closes out with Aiden hitting a back breaker on King, but King follows up with a drop kick and a spin kick. Aiden rakes King's eyes and dumps King on the ring apron. Aiden charges, but King hits a springboard blockbuster, covers and scores the pinfall. Kenny King picks up 3 points for the pinfall.

- Eric Young Promo: EY says the World Title went through him in 2015, he controls fate, he's an original, a god of TNA and tonight he'll show the world how meaningless Abyss is.

- Group TNA Originals Give Their Predictions: Bobby Roode says Eric Young will be the least likely to advance in the TNA World Series cause he's unstable. EY says Roode made things personal. James Storm says Abyss will be least likely to advance cause Abyss can't even walk straight. Abyss says Storm promised a lot of stuff, but never fulfilled it and predicts Storm would be least likely to advance.

- Abyss defeated Eric Young, by pinfall: The match closes out with Abyss hitting a samoan drop, a series of clotheslines and a back body drop. Abyss goes for the choke slam, but EY counters by stomping on Abyss' foot. Abyss returns and lands the choke slam on the second attempt and gets a near fall. Abyss grabs "Janice", which referee Earl Hebner takes and throws out of the ring. EY lands a low blow and gets a near fall top rope elbow drop. EY goes for the piledriver, but Abyss counters with a back body drop. Abyss hits the Black Hole Slam, covers and scores the pinfall. Abyss picks up 3 points for the pinfall.

- Ethan Carter Promo: EC3 says Bound For Glory was a travesty, he was screwed out of the TNA World Heavyweight Championship, the TNA World Series should not be happening and the TNA World Series will not end until EC3 is the rightful TNA World Heavyweight Champion.

- Robbie E defeated Eddie Edwards, by pinfall: The match closes out with Robbie E hitting the Boom Drop for a near fall. Edwards gets a near fall after dropping Robbie E and follows that up and applies a single leg submission. Edwards lands an enziguri, but Robbie E comes back and plants Edwards with a reverse DDT. Robbie E covers and scores the pinfall. Robbie E picks up 3 points for the pinfall.

- Bobby Roode Promo: Roode says he's the TNA King of the Mountain Champion, all four guys in his group helped make TNA, it's going to come down to who wants it more and that will be Bobby Roode.

- Group Future Four Give Their Predictions: Eli Drake says you only need to worry about him winning. Jesse Godderz says he doesn't like Drake. Crimson says Drake is pissing him off. Micah says he and Crimson will advance to the next round and Crimson agrees.

- Mahabali Shera defeated Crazy Steve, by pinfall: The match closes out with Steve tossing Shera into the corner. Shera takes advantage and makes quick work of Steve. Shera with the Sky High, the cover and the pinfall. Mahabali Shera picks up 3 points for the pinfall.

- Bobby Roode defeated James Storm, by pinfall: The match closes out with Roode going for the Roode Bomb, but Storm counters with a Code Breaker and a Back Stabber for a near fall. Storm grabs a steel chair and the referee immediately takes it away. While the referee is distracted, Storm hits Roode with his cow bell and gets a near fall. Storm goes for the Last Call super kick, but Roode dodges it. Storm goes for Eye Of The Storm, but Roode counters and hits the Fisherman Buster to score the pinfall. Bobby Roode picks up 3 points for the pinfall. This closes out this weeks Impact show.

Wrestling Lockup with Brandon 8.8.14: TNA Impact

Welcome back to another Wrestling Lockup with Brandon, brought to you by Triple Threat Podcast. This edition is serving you the TNA Impact recap for the week! This week on Impact, we had two big main event matches. Team 3D and Tommy Dreamer got a shot at Team Dixie in an eight man hardcore war and we find out a new TNA X Division Champion as we had the finals of the TNA X Division Triple Threat Tournament. Let's get things started!

- Impact kicked off this week from New York City with Tommy Dreamer, Bully Ray and Devon arriving. The ECW icons talked about going to war tonight with Team Dixie and promising that Dixie was going through a table.

- "Monster's Ball Match": Abyss vs Bram: Abyss and Bram tear into each other as soon as the bell sounds. Bram brings in the barbed wire board and both men try not to get hit with it. Bram grabs a wrench as Abyss grabs a cheese grater. Abyss grates Bram with the cheese grater. Abyss sends Bram face first into a chair. Abyss then grabs "Janice" and swings at Bram. Bram ducks and "Janice" is stuck in the turnbuckle. Abyss grabs his bag of thumb tacks but takes kendo stick shots from Bram. Bram grabs "Janice" but gets choke slammed onto the bed of tacks by Abyss. Abyss goes to use "Janice" but Magnus hits the ring for the distraction. Bram spears Abyss into the barbed wire board then hits Abyss in the gut with "Janice" to score the pinfall.

- ECIII and Team Dixie cut a promo. ECIII and company were ready for tonight and said Dixie would not be going through a table tonight.

- Bobby Lashley, MVP and Kenny King arrive with ladies at their sides.
MVP talks about Lashley beating Austin Aries last week, dealing with crybaby wrestlers as the boss and as long as Lashley holds the TNA World Title they have the power and no one can stop them. Bobby Roode arrives. Roode says that he was one of the longest reigning TNA Champions, he knows what it takes to be champion, MVP wanted to be champion but blew out his knee so he's basically riding Lashley's coat tails. Roode asks for a title shot but gets attacked by King and MVP. Austin Aries and Eric Young hit the ring and make the save. MVP says that they are not fighting tonight.

- Samuel Shaw, Mr. Anderson and Gunner vs. Robbie E, Jessie Godderz and DJ Z: Anderson, still not trusting Shaw begins yelling at him. Anderson gets rolled up and pinned in the process. Anderson gets in Shaw's face after the match but Gunner plays peace keeper.

- "Hardcore Weapons of War, Eight Man Street Fight": Team 3D, Tommy Dreamer and a Mystery Partner vs Ethan Carter III, Rhino, Snitsky and Zeke Jackson: This match was designed as a war games type of a match without the cage. Two wrestlers start in the ring then every two minutes one guy from each team comes out with a weapon of their choice. Dixie Carter and her bodyguard, MMA Fighter, King Mo, watched from the balcony.

Tommy Dreamer and ECIII start off the match. Devon and Rhino after that, Bully Ray and Snitsky third and finally Zeke Jackson and the mystery man. The mystery man was Al Snow, which started the "We want head" chants from the crowd. A lot of weapons and violence in this match. The ECW alumni score the pinfall as Team 3D hit Rhino with the "3D". After the match Bully is on the hunt for Dixie Carter. Dixie still says she won't go through a table because she has MMA fighter King Mo watching her back. Dixie promises Mo will knock out Bully tonight.

- Angelina Love cuts a promo. Angelina makes fun of Taryn Terrell and demands a TNA Knockout Title Match right now. Tarrell arrives and
calls Love a ho. Love disagrees as Gail Kim arrives. Kim says Tarrell will get a shot at Love and asks Velvet Sky how she likes being Angelina's second fiddle. We'll have a match between the four next week.

- Sanada vs. Low Ki vs. Samoa Joe for the vacant X Division Title. Before the match Sanada again bows to his new mentor, James Storm. Joe makes Sanada tap out to the choke hold. Samoa Joe is the NEW TNA X Division Champion. Many near falls broken up in this match.

- Team Dixie comes to the ring to cut a promo. Dixie fires everyone on Team Dixie for losing their match earlier. Her temper tantrum is interrupted by Bully Ray, Devon and Tommy Dreamer, with table in hand. King Mo hits Dreamer and we have a brawl. Bully steps in and knocks Mo out. Rockstar Spud saved Dixie and they escaped from the ring. The TNA locker room arrive and block Dixie from escaping any further. Dreamer grabs Dixie and tosses her back into the ring. The table is set, Devon hands Bully Dixie as he's perched on the ropes and FINALLY "Bully Bombs" Dixie right through the table. The fans erupt and we have a huge celebration in the ring with Team 3D and Dreamer as Impact closes out.

Wrestling Lockup with Brandon, 6.6.14: TNA Impact

What's up gang, it's Friday and it's time for the TNA Impact recap for the week. In last weeks episode of Impact, the biggest story was "The Samoan Submission Machine" Samoa Joe returning and making a big statement on how he felt about MVP, Kenny King and Bobby Lashley's three man power trip. Samoa Joe, Austin Aries, Eric Young, Bully Ray and The Wolves seem to have formed an alliance in their war with Dixie Carter, Ethan Carter III, Rockstar Spud, MVP, Kenny King and Bobby Lashley. Magnus and Bram still are at odds with each other in their feud with Jeff "Willow" Hardy. The Menagerie freak show returned to wreck havoc on The BroMans. Madison Rayne demanded her rematch against Angelina Love for the TNA Knockouts Title. Let's recap this week's episode.

Highlights of Impact:
- Samoa Joe kicked off Impact in the ring telling MVP, Kenny King and Bobby Lashley that they can stop looking for him cause he's bringing the fight to them. The Power Trio come to the ring and trade insults with Joe about power, greed and disrespect. Joe wants to fight all three of them tonight. Austin Aries comes to the ring and backs up Joe, and tells MVP he only wants to fight when it's in his favor. MVP makes a career match tonight between Samoa Joe and Austin Aries. If Joe wins he gets his job back but Aries will be fired if he loses.
- Dixie Carter tells MVP he's out of line for making Joe and Aries fight with their jobs on the line. MVP says he can do whatever he wants cause he's in charge.
- Samoa Joe faces Austin Aries with their jobs on the line. Eric Young comes out and tells the referee to do the right thing and not cost Joe or Aries their careers. The referee doesn't listen and continues officiating. Bully Ray comes to the ring and knocks out the referee. MVP comes to the ring and says they can't do this. Bully and EY say they just did the right thing to do. Bully Ray then challenges MVP, King, Lashley and Ethan Carter III to a "First Blood Match" against Bully, EY, Austin and Joe. King accepts the challenge without MVP's permission. MVP didn't seem too happy with King.
- Jeff "Willow" Hardy and Bram go one on one. Bram goes to use a crowbar on Hardy but Magnus stops Bram. Magnus however uses the weapon to beat Hardy with. Looks like Bram and Magnus are finally on the same page.
- MVP makes The Wolves, Davey Richards and Eddie Edwards face each other after The Wolves call MVP a liar and a puppet master. MVP says they should be thanking him for getting The Wolves jobs. Edwards defeats Richards however Kenny King comes out and threatened to take their tag titles because it didn't look like they were trying to hurt each other. The Wolves attack King in return.
- Mr. Anderson, dressed in cowboy gear mocks James Storm. James Storm comes out and trades words with Anderson before getting into another altercation. Storm hits "The Last Call" on Anderson then challenges him to a match at Slammiversary.
- Madison Rayne gets her Knockouts Title rematch however comes up short as Angelina Love cheats again as Velvet Sky sprays hair spray in Rayne's eyes allowing Love to grab a roll up pin.
- The Menagerie freak show faction attack The BroMans again.
- The "First Blood Match" is our main event of the evening. Team Bully Ray picks up the win as Bully beats the hell out of ECIII with a chain, busting him open. After the match, MVP, King and Lashley beat the hell out of ECIII backstage. Dixie Carter arrives and tells MVP he's gone too far and just started a war that he'll want no part of. And that closed out the show for this week.

Other News:
- Abyss has just topped a milestone in the company. Abyss, as of June 2nd has held the TNA TV Title for over a year now. Funny thing is TNA have not had him defend it or have not even mentioned anything about what happen to the Title.
