Wrestling Lockup with Brandon, 1.6.16: TNA Impact #IMPACTonPOP

By @B_Rock1978

Wrestling Lockup with Brandon, brought to you by Triple Threat CLE, has returned with your TNA Impact Recap Edition. Impact returned from hiatus this week, after leaving Destination America and debuting on their brand new channel, Pop TV.

TNA Impact was live in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania and had a huge show lined up. First up, The Dollhouse and The Beautiful People picked back up right where their feud left off. TNA advertised the debut of a "Miracle". Bobby Roode defended his TNA King of the Mountain Championship. And the World Title Series finally closed out as Bobby Lashley faced Ethan Carter and Matt Hardy faced Eric Young, with the winners meeting to finally crown a new TNA World Heavyweight Champion.

*** TNA Impact ***

- Dixie Carter Promo: Dixie kicks off Impact and states she chose Pop TV because the network is centered around the fans and plans to make 2016 TNA's best year. Ethan Carter and Tyrus arrive and interrupt Dixie. EC3 reminds us how he beat Kurt Angle to win the TNA World Heavyweight Championship, defended it like a true champion and then his own Aunt robbed him of it. Dixie tells EC3 to take a good long look in the mirror, says Matt Hardy won the title fairly and asks EC3 how he felt robbing Hardy of that. Matt Hardy makes his way out to the ring next. Hardy calls EC3 boring, states that the fans were robbed and it's Hardy's destiny to get back the title. Eric Young suddenly hits the ring and joins EC3 and Tyrus in a 3-On-1 beat down on Hardy. Bobby Lashley hits the ring for the save, puts Tyrus in a sleeper and back body drops EY. Hardy suicide dives to the floor and takes everyone out to end the segment.

- "Semi-Finals Of The World Title Series": Ethan Carter (w/Tyrus) vs. Bobby Lashley: Tyrus wastes no time getting involved in the match, body slamming Lashley, as EC3 distracted referee Earl Hebner. The match closes out with, Lashley landing a series of shoulder blocks to the gut of EC3. EC3 counters the Dominator with a jawbreaker and gets a near fall TKO. Lashley counters the One Percenter with elbows to EC3. Lashley lands a power slam and goes for the spear. Tyrus grabs Lashley's ankle, forcing Lashley to stop and nail Tyrus with a punch. EC3 sends Lashley face first into the turn buckle, rolls up Lashley and scores the pinfall. EC3 advances to the Finals.
Winner: Ethan Carter, by pinfall.

- Backstage, Bobby Roode states he challenged anyone from any promotion to face him tonight for the TNA King of the Mountain Championship. He'll prove why "It Pays To Be Roode".

- Kurt Angle Promo: Angle thanks the fans, runs down his career accomplishments, states it's an exciting time for TNA to be on Pop TV and officially announces he'll be stepping down soon. Angle wants to have high caliber matches on his farewell tour and has decided his first choice for next week's main event is Drew Galloway. Galloway comes to the ring and meets with Angle. Galloway thanks Angle and won't let this challenge slip away. Jesse Godderz heads out and interrupts Angle and Galloway. Godderz wants the honor cause he's the future of wrestling. Eli Drake comes out next, claims to be the future of wrestling and mocks Godderz for being on Big Brother. Drake did realize, however, that he and Godderz could team up and wipe out Angle and Galloway together. Drake calls Galloway a cross eyed waste of space. Angle tells Drake to shut his mouth and asks for an impromptu match right now. All four men begin brawling, until Drake and Godderz finally run off to end the segment.

- Backstage, Jeff Hardy says that even though the doctors are checking on Matt, nothing is stopping Matt from winning tonight.

- "Semi-Finals Of The World Title Series": Eric Young vs. Matt Hardy: EY tries to get Hardy counted out, claiming Hardy can't compete, but Hardy arrives. The match closes out with, EY blocking a Twist Of Fate, but gets hit with the Side Effect by Hardy for a near fall. Both men hit the floor where EY plants a piledriver on Hardy. Jeff Hardy hits the ring and checks on Matt, who's hurt. EY baseball slides Jeff, tosses Matt back in the ring and stalks back out after Jeff. EY yells at Jeff before getting back in the ring. Matt is back up and nails a Twist Of Fate out of nowhere on EY and scores the pinfall. Matt Hardy advances to the Finals.
Winner: Matt Hardy, by pinfall.

- Backstage, a mystery man arrives at the arena.

- Backstage, Eric Young is flipping out over his loss and says everyone is going to pay.

- Backstage, Ethan Carter and Tyrus confront Jeff Hardy. EC3 says Matt is living in Jeff's shadow. Jeff states Matt is his own person and has never lived in Jeff's shadow. EC3 walks off as Tyrus and Hardy stare each other down.

- "King of the Mountain Championship Match": Bobby Roode vs. Bram: Bram returns to TNA and answers Roode's open challenge. The match closes out with, Roode going for the Roode Bomb, but Bram drops Roode across the top rope. Both men go to the floor, where Bram ricochets Roode back and forth from apron to barricade. Back in the ring, Bram hits a leg lariat for a near fall. Roode is back up, unloads on Bram, hits the Roode Bomb for the pinfall and retains the title.
Winner: Bobby Roode, by pinfall, to retain the TNA King of the Mountain Championship.

- Beer Money Reunites: After the match, Eric Young hits the ring and attacks Bobby Roode. Bram and EY 2-On-1 attack Roode until "Cowboy" James Storm returns to TNA and helps Roode clean house. Storm grabs a microphone and fills us in on why he's back in TNA. Storm says he left TNA cause he wasn't having fun anymore, he decided to wrestle elsewhere to find himself again, he then realized that he helped make TNA and gave his all for 13 years. He then thought about Bobby Roode, all the beer they drank, all the money they made and wants to have Beer Money fun again. Storm hands Roode a beer, which Roode takes and drinks. Beer Money is Reborn.

- Backstage, pregnant Angelina Love promises that The Beautiful People have the perfect replacement for her tonight against The Dollhouse, that hates the DH just as much as the BP do.

- Backstage, James Storm and Bobby Roode say that Eric Young and Bram made a huge mistake. This Friday at TNA One Night Only, Beer Money is back. BEER....MONEY!!

- "Six Woman Tag Team Match": The Dollhouse vs. The Beautiful People and Gail Kim: Gail Kim is the chosen one to take Angelina Love's place. The match closes out with, Gail hot tagging and cleaning house. Gail gets a near fall tornado DDT on Jade. All six girls get involved, each hitting their own moves. Jade gets a near fall on Gail, but Gail comes back and scores a rollup pinfall on Jade. After the match, The Dollhouse attacks BP and Gail and beats down the trio. Awesome Kong suddenly stalks her way to the ring and targets The Dollhouse. Kong fools everyone, beats down the Beautiful People and then hits the Implant Buster on Gail. Kong stands with The Dollhouse to end the segment.
Winners: The Beautiful People and Gail Kim, by pinfall.

- The Miracle Is Introduced: Maria Kanellis and Mike Bennett, formerly of Ring Of Honor arrive. Bennett is TNA's Miracle, claims that today's wrestling has washed up guys and includes Matt Hardy as one of those washed up wrestlers. TNA's miracle will be the day when Mike Bennett becomes the new TNA World Heavyweight Champion.

- Backstage, Matt Hardy is with his wife, Reby Sky, and kid and dedicates his match to them.

- Backstage, Drew Galloway thanks Kurt Angle again. The Wolves interrupt and want a tag match this Friday. Jesse Godderz and Eli Drake interrupt and want in too. A triple threat tag team match is made official at TNA One Night Only

- "TNA World Heavyweight Championship Match": Ethan Carter vs. Matt Hardy: Before the match, Jeff Hardy talks Tyrus into leaving ringside and letting this match be one on one. The match closes out with, EC3 hitting two TKO's, but Hardy blocks the third and hits a Twist Of Fate. Matt goes for another Twist Of Fate, but EC3 counters with an enziguri and a One Percenter for a near fall. Matt tries to get to his feet as EC3 yells at him to stay down. Matt pops up and hits the Twist Of Fate again and EC3 barely kicks out. Matt sits EC3 on the top rope and goes for a Super Twist Of Fate. EC3 blocks it and lands a Super One Percenter off the ropes. EC3 covers, scores the pinfall and wins the TNA World Heavyweight Championship. After the match, a stunned and disappointed Matt Hardy blows off his family and walks away. Reby Sky chases after Matt, as EC3 celebrates his victory inside the ring.
Winner: Ethan Carter, by pinfall, to win the TNA World Heavyweight Championship.

This closes out TNA Impact.

NJPW/ROH Present: Wrestle Kingdom 10 #NJWK10

By @B_Rock1978

Wrestling Lockup with Brandon, brought to you by Triple Threat CLE, brings you the NJPW/ROH Wrestle Kingdom 10 Recap Edition.

One resolution I have with Triple Threat CLE, is I want to bring you more recaps and show you a bigger picture in the wrestling world. It's not all about WWE and TNA, there are tons and tons of other organizations out there that I'd love to spend time recapping and talking about. So expect Wrestling Lockup with Brandon to be huge in 2016 with recaps. Let's start our first pay per view recap of the year, shall we?

Wrestle Kingdom 10 was live in Tokyo, Japan, inside the historic Tokyo Dome. This year's event showcased the best of New Japan Pro Wrestling and Ring Of Honor, as they teamed up to bring you this yearly event. NJPW actually have their own streaming service in Japan, kinda like WWE have the WWE Network. If you're into old school traditional wrestling, you can purchase the NJW Network for $9 a month and enjoy all the NJPW action. Again I'd highly recommend if you like the old school, traditional wrestling action, or you could just YouTube a lot of NJPW matches as well.

*** NJPW/ROH Wrestle Kingdom 10 ***

- The New Japan Rumble: What's unique about the New Japan Rumble, is you can be eliminated by pinfall, submission, DQ, or being tossed over the top rope and both feet hitting the floor. ROH's Cheeseburger, was a surprise entrant in the rumble, early on. Captain New Japan was forced to tap out to the Fujiwara arm bar by Fujiwara. Fujiwara was pinned after all the competitors dog piled on top of him. Saito came off the top rope onto Tiger Mask, scored the pinfall and eliminated Tiger. Saito unloaded on Cheeseburger, however, suffered the same fate as Fujiwara, as everyone dog piled onto Saito and pinned him, for the elimination. WWE/WCW legend King Haku appeared in the rumble, with a Bullet Club jacket on and immediately eliminated Nagata and Kojima. Tenzan locked Haku in an Anaconda Vice submission and forced Haku to tap out. The Great Kabuki and Sakuraba traded blows back and forth, until Kabuki blew mist in Sakuraba's face and got DQ'ed. Sakuraba, blinded from the mist, got dog piled and pinned. Cheeseburger was pinned next and then a handful of over the top rope eliminations took place, leaving Taguchi, Koshinaka and Jado as the last three. Momoka, who is a female Japanese singer, came out with Jado, distracted the referee, and tried to enter the rumble. Koshinaka and Taguchi begin arguing with each other, allowing Jado to dump Koshinaka to the floor for the elimination. Taguchi charges at Jado, who ducks and tosses Taguchi to the floor for the victory.

ReDragon hit double team moves, until Hall pulls Fish outside and tosses Fish into the barricade. Romero hits a double clothesline on The Bucks, Ricochet and Sydal. The Bucks are back in, beat down Romero, nail More Bang For Your Buck, cover and score the pinfall, to capture the titles.
Winners: The Young Bucks, by pinfall, to win the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Championship.

- "NEVER Openweight Six Man Tag Team Championship Match": Tama Tonga, Yujiro Takahashi and Bad Luck Fale vs. Toru Yano and The Briscoe Brothers: The match closes out with, Fale catching Jay Briscoe and drilling him with an Alabama Slam. Fale makes the cover, but Yano breaks up the pinfall. Fale takes out Yano, as Tonga battled Jay and Mark and Takahashi brawled on the floor. Fale goes for a double underhook suplex, but gets sent to the corner. Fale gets set up in an Electric Chair drop position, as Yano lands a chair shot, without the referee catching it. The Briscoes hit a Doomsday Device on Fale, cover and score the pinfall to win the titles.
Winners: Toru Yano and The Briscoes, by pinfall, to win the NEVER Openweight Six Man Tag Team Championship.

- "ROH World Heavyweight Championship Match": Jay Lethal (c) vs. Michael Elgin: Truth Martini distracts Elgin early on, helping Lethal hit a springboard kick. The match closes out with, Elgin hitting an exploder, a series of splashes and a slingshot splash. Elgin countered a Lethal charge, landed a power slam and gets a near fall german suplex bridge. The match closes out with, KUSHIDA landing a series of kicks. Omega goes for a back suplex, but KUSHIDA traps Omega in a Kimura Lock submission. Honma enters and hits a diving headbutt on Anderson. Honma and Makabe double team Anderson. Honma hits another diving headbutt and Makabe follows with a big knee on Anderson from off the top rope. Makabe covers, scores the pinfall and we have new tag team champions.
Winners: Tomoaki Honma and Togi Makabe, by pinfall, to win the IWGP World Tag Team Championship.

- Tetsuya Naito vs. Hirooki Goto: EVIL and Naito attack Goto before the match even starts. Naito and Goto go to the floor where EVIL again gets involved by hitting Goto with a steel chair. This set up Naito putting Goto through a table. The match closes out with, both men unloading a series of forearms and punches. Goto hits the DVDR, lands a punch and goes for a kick. Naito shoves Goto into the referee and the referee goes down. EVIL and a masked man hit the ring and attack Goto. The masked man sprays mist, but Goto ducks, causing the mist to blind EVIL. Naito lands a low blow and rolls up Goto for a near fall. Goto hits a headbutt, followed by a suplex into a DDT to score the pinfall.
Winner: Hirooki Goto, by pinfall.

- "NEVER Openweight Championship Match": Tomohiro Ishii (c) vs. Katsuyori Shibata: The match closes out with, Shibata applying a chin lock submission on Ishii. Ishii tries to escape with a snap mare, but Shibata cinches in the chin lock submission tighter. Ishii looked like he was about to pass out from the pain, but somehow reaches the ropes for the break. Shibata unloads a series of kicks on Ishii, until Ishii finally catches a leg and lands a headbutt on Shibata. Shibata and Ishii trade a series of head butts with each other, which ends with Ishii drop kicking Shibata. Ishii lands two big lariats on Shibata for a near fall. Nakamura countered and nailed a Michinoku Driver, getting a very close pinfall on Styles. Nakamura measured Styles and landed not one, but two Bombay Kicks. Nakamura covered Styles and finally scored the pinfall, to retain the title.
Winner: Shinsuke Nakamura, by pinfall, to retain the IWGP Intercontinental Championship.

On The Mark 1.4.16: #Browns v. #Steelers Recap

Another year, another loss to the Steelers who beat the Browns 28-12, advance to playoffs
By @MarkW2112

The Cleveland Browns, on what became Mike Pettine's last game as head coach, were soundly defeated by the Pittsburgh Steelers, 28-12. Austin Davis started and was, for the most part, played OK, but was under pressure most of the game and finished 24-of-46 passing with 2 interceptions and no touchdowns.
Isiah Crowell and Duke Johnson were somewhat effective but not used nearly enough since the Steelers defense stacked the line knowing that there was no chance Davis could beat them. Crowell had 53 yards rushing on 15 carries while Johnson had 11 yards rushing and 34 passing yards. Gary Barnidge led all receivers with 66 yards. The Browns offense got to the red zone 4 times but couldn't score touchdowns, only field goals.

On the other end, Ben Roethelisberger had no problems passing the ball, going 24-of-36 for 349 yards, 187 of those yards going to Antonio Brown, 3 touchdowns and 2 interceptions. The Browns defensive secondary was MIA once again with Big Ben having his way all day.

My take: Jimmy Haslam has torched the entire organization and starting from scratch. Head coach Mike Pettine, GM Ray Farmer and President Alec Scheiner are all gone and new people will be brought in, including new executive VP of football operations, Sashi Brown. The only issue is who wants to come to a toxic situation like the Browns? For us Browns fans, this is going to be another long offseason with a lot of anger and disappointment with who is hired and which players leave the Browns. It's very possible the Browns may be even worse next year.

People of the game: Those poor Browns fans who stuck around to see Steelers fans cheering the fact that their team was going to the playoffs once again.

Next for the Browns: The unknown as the Browns will have the #2 pick in the draft and lose many players like Alex Mack and possibly Joe Thomas.

As a side note, it's been fun writing once more for Triple Threat Cleveland. Hope to see you next season!

#Browns Preview 1.3.16: Pittsburgh #Steelers @ Cleveland Browns

By @mrgroce

Happy New Year Browns' fans!!!! We have finally reached the final week of the season and it could not have come at a better time. For the third season in a row the Browns will be have their third string quarterback behind center. Austin Davis gets the opportunity to keep the Pittsburgh Steelers out of the playoffs. Pittsburgh needs a victory and a Jets loss to make clinch a spot in the postseason. Since 2008, the Browns and Steelers have faced off against each other five times with Pittsburgh winning every single contest.

The Browns will be without both of their starting corner backs this week and might be forced to start Justin Gilbert and Pierre Desir against Antonio Brown and Martavis Bryant. That's gonna get ugly. The last time these two teams faced each other, Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger came off of the bench and threw for 379 yards and 3 touchdowns. Running back DeAngelo Williams was held to 54 yards on 17 carries, which was one of the best performances by the Browns' run defense this season.

As stated earlier, Austin Davis will get his second start of the season. In his lone start against the Bengals in early December, Davis threw for  230 yards with one interception. Like the other quarterbacks before him, it's really hard to get a read on the man behind center when he doesn't have any weapons to help him win. Add Marlon Moore to the list of receivers who who will be out this week for the Browns. That could lead to more playing time for Terrelle Pryor or Dwayne Bowe, maybe. One thing to look out for is the fact that Travis Benjamin is only 87 yards short of the 1000 yard mark.

Personally, I'll have my eyes on Cameron Erving, Danny Shelton and Nate Orchard. They are the rookies who've had the most playing time lately and I'd like to see how hard they compete in the final game that means nothing overall, but hopefully will one day in their futures as members of the Cleveland Browns. Rumors have swirled all week stating that GM Ray Farmer will be fired and coach Pettine will be retained followed by another rumor that both men will be let go after the season ends. I'm not a fan of either guy but whatever happens I don't wish for any man to lose his job. I am a fan of the Cleveland Browns though, and whatever is best for the team will hopefully get figured out by Jimmy Haslem quickly.

Wrestling Lockup with Brandon, 1.2.16: #SmackDown

By @B_Rock1978

Wrestling Lockup with Brandon, brought to you by Triple Threat CLE. It's time for this week's Smackdown Edition. New Year's Eve is upon us and WWE presents us with our very last Smackdown of 2015. It is also the last Smackdown on the SyFy Channel, as Smackdown makes the jump to the USA Network, next Thursday.

This Monday on RAW, Roman Reigns, will defend his WWE World Heavyweight Championship against Sheamus. But before that goes down, Reigns teamed up with his best friend, Dean Ambrose, and battled Sheamus and Kevin Owens in the main event of Smackdown. Let's get to this weeks Smackdown and say goodbye to 2015, as Smackdown took place in our nation's capital, Washington D.C.

- The New Day Promo: The New Day kick off Smackdown in the ring. The New Day say it's New Year's and New Day needs no resolutions cause they're already perfect. The only ones that need to make resolutions are the WWE Universe. The New Day demand that the WWE Universe make wearing hearing aids and glasses, writing in a New Day journal and singing New...Day Rocks every morning as part of their resolutions. The Lucha Dragons finally interrupt, Sin Cara is sporting an arm sling, but still challenges New Day to fight. The New Day remind Sin Cara that he's injured. Kalisto says no worries, cause they brought some friends to help. The Dudley Boys' music hits and we've got a Six Man Tag Team Match to kick off the show.

- "Six Man Tag Team Match": The New Day vs. The Dudley Boys and Kalisto: The match closes out with, Bubba hot tagging and laying out The New Day. Kalisto ducks a Big E charge and the Dudleys hit 3D on Big E. Kalisto tags in, hits a DDT on Kofi and finishes him with Salida Del Sol for the pinfall. After the match, Bubba gets his hands on Woods, puts him through a table and wishes everyone a Happy New Year.
Winners: The Dudley Boys and Kalisto, by pinfall.

- Goldust vs. Tyler Breeze (w/Summer Rae): The match closes out with, Breeze sending Goldust head first into the turnbuckles and scores the pinfall on Goldust with his feet on the ropes for leverage. After the match, Summer Rae announces that she and Breeze have decided to go their separate ways for 2016 and celebrate with one last selfie together.
Winner: Tyler Breeze, by pinfall.

- Backstage, Curtis Axel says his New Year's Resolution is winning the Royal Rumble and main eventing Axelmania. Bo Dallas says Axel needs to buy deodorant. Dolph Ziggler arrives, makes fun of Bo, tells Bo to get ready for their match tonight and all Bo has to do is Bo-Lieve.

- The Usos vs. Luke Harper and Braun Strowman: The match closes out with Jey hitting a samoan drop and a Rikishi Splash on Harper for a near fall. Harper goes to the floor, Jey ducks a Strowman clothesline and hits a suicide dive on Harper. Jimmy plants two Uso Kicks, but with no effect on Strowman. Rowan tries to interfere, but eats a Jimmy Uso Kick. Jimmy goes for a third Uso Kick on Strowman, but Strowman catches Jimmy's leg and locks Jimmy in the Bear Hug/Sleeper submission. Jimmy gets choked out and The Wyatt Family are victorious.
Winners: The Wyatt Family, by submission.

- It's announced that John Cena will be on next week's Smackdown when it debuts on the USA Network.

- Tamina and Naomi vs. Brie Bella and Alicia Fox: The match closes out with, Brie hitting Naomi with a missile drop kick and connecting with Yes Kicks. Brie hits a running knee, sending Tamina to the floor. Brie dodges Naomi with the Rear View and counters a Naomi bulldog, sending Naomi into the corner. Brie hits the Bella Buster on Naomi and scores the pinfall.
Winners: Brie Bella and Alicia Fox, by pinfall.

- Bo Dallas vs. Dolph Ziggler: The match closes out with, Bo Dallas in command of the match. Bo hits Ziggler with a series of back elbows, lands a punch on Ziggler and gets a near fall suplex. Bo wastes time doing a victory lap, eats a Ziggler super kick and Ziggler scores the pinfall.
Winner: Dolph Ziggler, by pinfall.

- Roman Reigns and Dean Ambrose vs. Sheamus and Kevin Owens: The match closes out with, Ambrose sending Sheamus into the ring post and rebound clotheslining Owens. Reigns hits a samoan drop on Sheamus and an uppercut on Owens. Reigns hits the Superman Punch on Sheamus, but gets grabbed and tossed into the ring post by Owens, causing a DQ. After the match, Sheamus tosses Reigns into the steel steps and then over the announcers table. Ambrose lands punches on Sheamus, but gets super kicked by Owens. Owens sets Ambrose up for a power bomb through the announcers table, but Reigns makes the save with a Superman Punch on Owens. Ambrose tosses Sheamus into the ring post and Reigns drills Sheamus with a spear to end the show.
Winners: Roman Reigns and Dean Ambrose, by DQ.
