WLWB Special: My Top 5 AJ Styles WWE Moments In 2016

By Brandon Albright, @B_Rock1978

At this time last year if you would have came to me and told me that AJ Styles would be the WWE World Heavyweight Champion in October of 2016, I probably would have laughed in your face. I would have laughed in your face and told you why would AJ Styles want to come to the WWE, when all they would have done is screw up his whole character. Well.......I guess I was wrong.

Since making his WWE debut at the Royal Rumble, in January of 2016, AJ Styles' WWE career has been nothing but phenomenal! (pun intended)

For the past 10 months, AJ Styles' name has been involved in a lot of hot feuds in the WWE and has scratched off a lot of matches on the fan's dream match list. From Chris Jericho, to Roman Reigns, to John Cena, to Dolph Ziggler, to Dean Ambrose, AJ Styles has had an amazing 10 months in the WWE. Also during those 10 months, Styles formed a tag team with Chris Jericho, formed the WWE's version of The Bullet Club with Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson, was the first draft pick for Smackdown Live, turned heel and defeated Dean Ambrose to win the WWE World Heavyweight Championship.

Styles, who's closing in on the age of 40 is still able to pull off some of the most high-risk maneuvers that have made him what he is today is a wrestler. Styles is not only dominating the WWE as a wrestler, but he is also dominating the WWE at the merchandise counter too, as he continues to be one of the top go to shirts and apparel that the fans want in the company right now.

I myself have to admit that I was quite surprised at how well Styles' career has taken off in the WWE. Why? Well let's just say the WWE isn't very shy when it comes to ruining careers of those that weren't homegrown WWE Superstars. Usually if you were not one of Vince McMahon's own creations, you would have a very tough time making it in the WWE. But thankfully with Styles, it appears that the WWE isn't so worried about where Styles came from, they're more worried about what Styles is doing for their company. Which at this time, is making Smackdown Live one of the hottest shows on TV.

*** My Personal Favorite Top 5 AJ Styles Moments In The WWE ***:

#5: Styles Arrives And Enters At #3 In The Royal Rumble: All throughout the end of 2015, rumors were circulating on whether or not AJ Styles was going to sign with WWE or go back to TNA, as Styles was one of TNA's Originals. Styles made his intentions clear about where he was going during one of his very last independent wrestling matches. Styles mentioned to the crowd that he knew of a "Rumble" coming up that he wouldn't mind entering. Styles did in fact show up at the Royal Rumble entering at #3 and lasted 28 minutes before getting eliminated by Kevin Owens, making Styles' debut in the WWE official.

#4: AJ Styles vs. Chris Jericho (Wrestlemania 32): Styles and Jericho had a great feud in the winter and spring of 2016. Styles and Jericho would trade wins with each other and then eventually form a tag team together called Y2AJ, after Jericho stated that he had nothing but respect for Styles. That tag team didn't last very long, however, as Jericho and Styles came up short winning the WWE World Tag Team Championship against The New Day, which led to Jericho turning on Styles. Jericho and Styles would go on to face each other at Wrestlemania 32, after Jericho showed his turncoat ways. Although Styles came up losing against Jericho, it was still great to see two of wrestling's best perform on the greatest stage of them all.

#3: AJ Styles vs. Roman Reigns (Extreme Rules): Right after Styles' feud with Chris Jericho, the WWE realized that they had a diamond in the rough with Styles, as Styles was becoming one of their top selling memorabilia items at the merchandise calendar. The WWE jumped on this opportunity and immediately made Styles the number one contender to the WWE World Heavyweight Championship. Styles would again come up short in his quest to win the WWE World Heavyweight Championship, but Styles and Reigns put on one heck of an entertaining Extreme Rules Match at WWE Extreme Rules.

#2: AJ Styles vs. John Cena (Summer Slam): The WWE franchise John Cena facing one of TNA's Originals AJ Styles, was definitely a fantasy dream match on every wrestling fan's list. Styles went into this match already having one pinfall victory over Cena, but there was no better match than this to have on the WWE's second-biggest pay per view of the year. Styles now a full-blown heel, wanted nothing more than to take out the WWE's face, John Cena. In a very fast-paced and exciting match, Styles would hit the Styles Clash and the Phenomenal Forearm on Cena and pin John Cena clean in the middle of the ring.

#1: AJ Styles vs. Dean Ambrose (Backlash): This leads us to my number one favorite AJ Styles moment of 2016. AJ Styles, after only being in the WWE for 9 months, defeated Dean Ambrose at WWE Backlash to win his first WWE World Heavyweight Championship. Styles may have cheated to win the championship, but Styles has proven that it doesn't matter what promotion you come from when you sign with the WWE. If you have the charisma, the mic skills, the wrestling ability, the backstage locker room leader personality and you appreciate what the McMahon Family have done for the wrestling business, you can become a top name superstar in the WWE.

So there you have it that is my top 5 favorite AJ Styles moments of 2016. Thank you for checking out and reading this blog and please follow me @B_Rock1978 and also please follow @TripleThreatCLE for all of your sports, wrestling and entertainment needs.

Bray says he came here as a reminder of the truth, Rock represents nothing but lies, this is Bray Wyatt's moment and he plans to take out The Rock in front of his fans.
The Rock says Bray sounds like he's been smoking a bong for eight straight days, Erick Rowan's parents are obviously related and Braun Strowman looks like he was breast fed into adult years. Rock begins to compliment Bray, but says he shouldn't be threatening The Rock, because Bray doesn't look like the eater of worlds, he looks like the eater of hot pockets. Wrestlemania 32 Preview #WrestleMania32 #WM32

By Brandon Albright, @B_Rock1978

Wrestling Lockup with Brandon, brought to you by Triple Threat CLE, brings you the Wrestlemania 32 preview.

It's Wrestlemania season again, the grand daddy of all of wrestling, the super bowl of sports entertainment, the pay per view that every up and coming wrestler wants to be apart of one day and have their Wrestlemania moment, it's Wrestlemania 32! This year's Wrestlemania takes place live in Jerry Jones Land, aka AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.

- "WWE World Heavyweight Championship Match": Triple H (c) vs. Roman Reigns: Triple H and Reigns have had quite a history the past few months. From Reigns bucking The Authority and attacking Triple H, to Triple H returning at the Royal Rumble, eliminating Reigns and winning his WWE World Heavyweight Championship. The Authority put up roadblock after roadblock on Reigns, trying to stop him from recapturing the WWE World Heavyweight Championship, as they feel Reigns isn't what's best for business as the company's face. Last month at WWE Fastlane, Reigns defeated his best friend Dean Ambrose and "The Beast" Brock Lesnar in a triple threat match, to become the #1 Contender to Triple H and the WWE World Heavyweight Championship. Will Reigns finally get his redemption on Triple H and The Authority? Or will Triple H prove that Reigns really wasn't what was best for business?

- "All Or Nothing, Hell In A Cell Match": The Undertaker vs. Shane McMahon: Shane McMahon returned to the WWE the night after WWE Fastlane and revealed a huge secret. Shane has been next in line to run the WWE, when Vince McMahon steps down, without Stephanie McMahon or Triple H knowing about it. Shane now wants full control of RAW so he can try to right all of the wrongs Stephanie and Triple H have caused. Vince McMahon offered Shane the chance to win RAW away from Stephanie and Triple H, but if he loses he has to step down and allow Stephanie and Triple H to continue running the show. Shane agreed to the all or nothing match before finding out Vince had plans of making Shane battle The Undertaker in a Hell In A Cell Match. Can Shane McMahon do the unthinkable and defeat The Undertaker, who's a astonishing 22-1 at Wrestlemania? Will the Undertaker make Shane O'Mac victim number 23 and crush Shane's hopes of taking over the WWE?

- "No Holds Barred, Street Fight Match": Brock Lesnar vs. Dean Ambrose: Dean Ambrose has had a death wish the past month, as he's been begging for a battle with Brock Lesnar. Every face to face meeting Lesnar and Ambrose have had ended with Ambrose getting injured by the beast. Ambrose refusing to back down, even taking a beating in a parking lot from Lesnar, demanded a fight with Lesnar at Wrestlemania. Lesnar gladly accepted the proposition by Ambrose of the match being a No Holds Barred, Street Fight. Can Dean Ambrose survive yet another beating from the beast and come out victorious, now that he's made weapons legal? Will Brock Lesnar finally destroy Ambrose, after Ambrose stated he's indestructible?

- "WWE Intercontinental Championship, Ladder Match": Kevin Owens (c) vs. Dolph Ziggler vs. The Miz vs. Sami Zayn vs. Stardust vs. Zack Ryder vs. Sin Cara: Kevin Owens goes into Wrestlemania defending his WWE Intercontinental Championship against not one, but six other men in a ladder match. Owens tried to put the screws to Ziggler, Miz and Zayn by offering Stardust, Ryder and Sin Cara and opportunity to face Owens at Wrestlemania. Owens disrupted the triple threat match between Sin Cara, Ryder and Stardust, which also caused Ziggler, Miz and Zayn to get involved. Stephanie McMahon, not happy with Owens and his antics, has put the champ in a ladder match against the six men that were screwed by Owens.

- "WWE United States Championship Match": Kalisto (c) vs. Ryback: Kalisto successfully defended his WWE United States Championship at WWE Fastlane, defeating Alberto Del Rio last month, in a 2 Out Of 3 Fall Match. Kalisto stated that one of his dreams come true would be to be able to defend the WWE United States Championship at the Super Bowl of Sports Entertainment, Wrestlemania. Ryback, meanwhile, has ventured down a new path in his career where it's all about him and no one else. Ryback threw out a challenge to Kalisto for the WWE United States Championship at Wrestlemania and Kalisto gladly accepted. Can Kalisto defeat the big guy and continue his reign as United States Champion? Will Ryback, with his new attitude, win more gold to add to his WWE resume?

- "4-On-3 Handicap Match": The New Day vs. The League of Nations: The New Day already successfully defeated the League of Nations members Sheamus and King Barrett at WWE Roadblock and then Rusev and Alberto Del Rio on RAW. The LON didn't take both losses very well as the LON viciously attacked, laid out all three New Day members and then talked them into facing the League Of Nations at Wrestlemania, in a 4-on-3 Handicap Match. Can New Day survive being a man short in this handicap match? Will the League Of Nations prove that they are the superior wrestling faction.

- "WWE Divas Championship, Triple Threat Match": Charlotte (c) vs. Sasha Banks vs. Becky Lynch: Sasha Banks and Becky Lynch, after teaming together at WWE Fastlane, battled each other in a one on one match to the new #1 Contender to Charlotte's WWE Divas Championship. Sasha and Becky ended up pinning each other leaving no winner and no challenger for Charlotte. Sasha and Becky would go on to have a rematch to determine the #1 Contender, which ended in a draw, due to Charlotte interfering and laying out both ladies. Since no legit #1 Contender was determined, it was announced that Charlotte would have to defend the WWE Divas Championship in a triple threat match against Sasha and Becky. Can Charlotte retain her championship in a match where she doesn't have to be pinned to lose the title? Will we get a new WWE Divas Champion, with either Sasha Banks or Becky Lynch walking out the new champion?

- Chris Jericho vs. AJ Styles IV: These two men have had quite a feud the past few months leading into their fourth meeting at Wrestlemania. After facing each other in three separate matches, AJ Styles came out with the two wins to one advantage and looked to have finally gained Chris Jericho's respect. Jericho and Styles would then form a tag team called Y2AJ and made a run at the WWE World Tag Team Championship. After coming up short of winning the tag titles, Jericho snapped and turned on Styles. Why? Because the WWE Universe chose to chant for AJ instead of Jericho during their matches, which caused anger and jealousy to build up in Jericho. Jericho and Styles will meet one on one again and look to finally settle their differences.

- The Usos vs. The Dudley Boys: The Dudley Boys made the heel turn a month ago and chose The Usos as the tag team to take their anger out on. After destroying The Usos, the Dudley Boys vowed to never use a table again because they are sick of being compared to tables instead of being recognized as one of the greatest tag teams in the world. The Usos look to avenge their attack and finally shut the Dudley Boys up. Can The Usos defeat one of the greatest tag teams in the world, or will the Dudley's defeat The Usos and continue their path of destruction in the WWE?

- "Third Annual Andre The Giant Memorial Battle Royal": This year's Wrestlemania will continue with the tradition of having the Andre The Giant Memorial Battle Royal. The ring will be filled with WWE superstars and an over the top rope battle royal will take place. The last WWE superstar left standing will be crowned this year's Andre The Giant Memorial Trophy winner. We've seen Cesaro and The Big Show win in the past two years. Will we see a repeat winner this year or a new winner of the trophy?

- "Ten Diva Tag Team Match": BAD and Blonde (Naomi, Tamina, Emma, Lana and Summer Rae) vs. The Total Divas (Brie Bella, Paige, Eva Marie, Nattie Neidhart and Alicia Fox): The Divas and the NXT Women get their shot at a Wrestlemania moment as a ten diva tag match was signed. Team BAD and Blonde have joined forces and look to take out the cast of the Total Divas show. Which team will come out victorious in what should be a very hot match.
