*** WWE and NXT News ***
- Be sure to go back and read my recaps on this week's RAW, SmackDown and NXT shows for the week. A lot of build up as the WWE moves towards WWE Battleground.
- WWE Tough Enough debuted this week on the USA Network. One contestant will be eliminated each week until there is one remaining. That last contestant standing will receive a WWE contract.
- Daniel Bryan Injury Revealed: For the past few months, WWE has been quiet on exactly why Daniel Bryan has been put on the injury list again in the company. Many felt it was due to more neck and shoulder problems which put him out of action last year. That was not the case. WWE Hall of Famer, Bret Hart, was interviewed recently and let the cat out of the bag. Hart stated that Daniel Bryan suffered a similar concussion that forced Bret Hart to retire back in the early 2000's. The concussion was said to have happened while on the European tour in a match against Sheamus. After the injury accorded, Bryan, was immediately sent back home to the U.S. to get tested. Bryan has been receiving tests and can not wrestle again until all tests are passed. As of now Bryan is nowhere near passing all of them.
- Jamie Noble Injured: This past Monday on RAW, Jamie Noble was taken off on a stretcher, after the closing segment to RAW. Noble was tossed into the barricade by Brock Lesnar, during Lesnar's brawl with The Authority, to close out the show. On Tuesday it was announced that Noble had broken three ribs after taking the barricade spot.

*** TNA News ***
- Be sure to go back and read my recap of this week's TNA Impact Wrestling show. A lot of surprises this past Wednesday and also a title change took place.
- Jeff Hardy's Return Announced: After being out of action with a broken leg, due to a dirt bike accident, Hardy finally has a return date set. Jeff Hardy will return to in ring action on September 17th, for a TNA live show in York, Pennsylvania.
- Another Wrestler Calls It Quits: Samuel Shaw announced on his Twitter page that he has left TNA. Shaw follows Gunner who announced his departure last week. Both Shaw and Gunner have a great future ahead of them and will be a great pick up by which ever promotion signs them.
- Rumors began circulating within TNA that James Storm and Magnus might be leaving TNA. The rumors became true on both accounts when both Storm and Magnus made Twitter statuses about the rumors. Storm tweeted out he was enjoying his last big meal before his last TV taping show. And Magnus tweeted out that TNA Slammiversary would be his last match with TNA.
- Austin Aries' Contract Future: TNA has stated this week that Austin Aries' contract will be coming to an end the day after TNA Slammiversary. There has been no word on if Aries will re-sign with the company or leave TNA.
*** GFW News ***
- GFW owner, Jeff Jarrett, shocked the world as he announced himself as one of the five men that will compete at TNA Slammiversary in the King of the Mountain Match. No word as of yet if this is a one time thing or if GFW and TNA have worked a merger with each other. There has been talk, however, of Jarrett being around TNA more after Slammiversary. This could possibly play into something planned by the two companies.
- GFW, meanwhile, continues their summer tour of minor league ballparks, promoting GFW wrestling.
*** ROH News ***
- This week on Ring Of Honor on Destination America: Shinsuke Nakamura defeated Roderick Strong in the opening match by pinfall. Michael Elgin makes quick and easy work of Gedo. Elgin scores the pinfall on Gedo. The Young Bucks and A.J. Styles, representing The Bullet Club defeated Okada, Barretta and Rocky Romero in the main in event in a six man tag team match. This was A.J. Styles first match on a televised wrestling promotion, since leaving TNA. The Bullet Club hit the Bullet Club Special finisher on Barretta to score the pin.
- NJPW Wrestlers Return: Ring Of Honor announced this week that three New Japan Pro Wrestling stars will return to ROH for TV tapings. Shinsuke Nakamura, Kazuchika “Rainmaker” Okada and KUSHIDA, will all be making returns.
*** Lucha Underground News ***
This week on Lucha Underground: Super Fly defeated Sexy Star. Super Fly tried to unmask Sexy Star after the match, but Sexy Star escaped. Vampiro and Pentagon had a shoving match with each other, possibly setting up a future match. Aerostar defeated The Mack, The Moth and Cage in a Fatal Four Way Match to win the Third Aztec Medallion. The Disciples of Death beat down Trios backstage. Mil Muertes defeated Drago becoming the #1 Contender to Prince Puma's Lucha Underground World Heavyweight Championship. Drago was nearly choked out with a belt, before the match, by Hernandez. Puma appeared after the match and had a stare down with Mil Muertes.
*** Other Wrestling News ***
- Former WWE Intercontinental Champion and WWE Women's Champion, Chyna, is in the news. Chyna has stated that she wants to have a private sit down with Vince McMahon and Triple H to bury the hatchet. Chyna wants to one day be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame and stated that her time in WWE was the best times of her life.
- Former Women's Wrestler Arrested: Former Bodybuilder women's wrestler, Nicole Bass, was arrested this week. Bass was arrested in Queens, New York and charged with stealing $1,000 in goods from the Stop & Shop supermarket. Sentencing has yet to be determined yet. Bass competed in ECW and WWE in the late 1990's.
- Former WWE, WCW and TNA writer, Vince Russo is trying to get involved with TNA again. Russo sent an email to Dixie Carter and Billy Corgan, offering his services. Russo offered to help write TNA from now until September, free of charge, to prove he could get TNA back on track. TNA has declined his offer.
- Bellator 138 Fixed?: Many people have gone on record of claiming that the match between Kimbo Slice and former WWE Intercontinental Champion and NWA World Heavyweight Champion, Ken Shamrock, was a fixed fight. Some felt that Kimbo tapped out while trapped in Shamrock's rear naked choke, but the fight was never stopped. Some felt the leg trip Shamrock applied to get Kimbo down on the mat was weak and staged. And many felt the match stoppage was way to soon as Shamrock wasn't given a chance to say if he could still go or not.
And that's your Weekend 3 Count. Join me next Sunday afternoon for more news and rumors around the wrestling world.
