Wrestling Lockup with Brandon 8.10.16: SmackDown Live Results

Wrestling Lockup with Brandon, brought to you by Triple Threat CLE, is here with your Smackdown Live Recap Edition.  

This week's Smackdown Live took place in Bakersfield, California. American Alpha battled Mike Vega and Mikey O'Shea in tag team action. Becky Lynch battled Eva Marie and then Alexa Bliss. Randy Orton battled Alberto Del Rio. Heath Slater looked to land a job on Smackdown Live as he battled Rhyno for a contract. Carmella battled Nattie Neidhart. Main event time saw Dean Ambrose and Dolph Ziggler face Chris Jericho and Kevin Owens.

*** Smackdown Live ***

- Backstage, Randy Orton is informed he's facing Alberto Del Rio tonight and is asked about Brock Lesnar. Orton plans to RKO Lesnar into Viperville. Del Rio interrupts and calls Viperville a joke. Orton offers Del Rio a VIP pass. Del Rio threatens to break Orton's arm.

- Wyatt Family Promo: Bray Wyatt calls himself the victim, Dolph Ziggler got desperate to save himself last week because he knew it was the only way. Bray says that he's a God and Ziggler hasn't realized that you can't kill a God. Bray begs Ziggler to just ask Dean Ambrose because Ambrose knows exactly what Bray Wyatt is capable of. Ambrose interrupts and says all Bray does is spout off biblical mumbo jumbo and claim to be an eater of worlds, but at the end of the day he's just a big baby. Ambrose tells Bray to leave because Smackdown Live belongs to the WWE World Heavyweight Champion. Bray dares Ambrose to make him leave. Ambrose knows it's a trap and informs Bray that he knows his game and what he's planning. Dolph Ziggler suddenly hits the ring and attacks Bray. Bray and Erick Rowan double team Ziggler until Ambrose makes the save. Ambrose tosses Rowan to the floor, but gets grabbed by Bray for Sister Abigail. Ziggler makes the save, but accidentally super kicks Ambrose. Ziggler gets grabbed by Bray after the accident and gets laid out with Sister Abigail. 

- Backstage, Dean Ambrose doesn't think the Dolph Ziggler super kick was an accident. Ambrose and Ziggler go nose to nose and get separated by Shane McMahon and Daniel Bryan. Ambrose and Ziggler will team together tonight.

- American Alpha vs. Mike Vega and Mikey O'Shea: Before the match, The Vaudevillains, The Ascension and Mojo Rawley and Zack Ryder arrive to watch. The match closes out with Jordan hitting an overhead belly to belly and tagging in Gable. Jordan and Gable hit their Grand Amplitude finisher and score the pinfall. After the match, all the teams watching at ringside surround American Alpha and a huge brawl breaks out. American Alpha end up clearing the ring and standing tall.
Winners: American Alpha, by pinfall.

- Backstage, The Miz is interviewed. Miz says he's been WWE Intercontinental Champion for 127 days now and he is unmatched perfection. Miz ignores the question about Apollo Crews and makes out with Maryse instead.

- Becky Lynch vs. Eva Marie: The match again never happens as Eva has a wardrobe malfunction and the referee has to cover her up.
Winner: No Contest

- Becky Lynch Promo: Becky says Eva has had some poor excuses to not wrestle and challenges someone else to fight her tonight. Alexa Bliss interrupts and tells Becky to be careful for what she wishes for because Alexa is here to bring bliss to Smackdown Live.

- Becky Lynch vs. Alexa Bliss: The match closes out with Eva Marie's music playing and Eva stating that she's ready to wrestle now. Becky gets distracted and gets hit by Alexa with a cheap shot. Alexa hits a reverse STO followed by Twisted Bliss on Becky to score the pinfall. After the match, Eva Marie says she feels bad, but will be ready to wrestle next week.
Winner: Alexa Bliss, by pinfall.

- Alberto Del Rio vs. Randy Orton: The match closes out with Orton going for a back breaker, but Del Rio counters and traps Orton in the Cross Arm Breaker submission. Orton escapes and plants Del Rio with the hanging DDT. Orton goes for the RKO, but Del Rio rolls to the floor. Orton tosses Del Rio into the time keepers area, but Del Rio comes back and hits Orton in his shoulder with a steel chair causing a DQ. After the match, Del Rio sends Orton into the ring post and then into the ring. Del Rio goes to hit Orton with the steel chair again, but Orton hits an RKO on Del Rio.
Winner: Randy Orton, by DQ.

- Backstage, Heath Slater says he needs this job cause he has two kids and just bought a pool. Rhyno interrupts and says he just won his primary election and he can’t let his political colleagues down. Slater says he has to worry about his four kids and his above ground pool. Rhyno reminds Slater he said two kids and nothing's going to help him tonight.

- Rhyno vs. Heath Slater: The match closes out with Slater applying a rear chin lock, but Rhyno counters with a belly to belly. Rhyno goes for the Gore, but Slater dodges it and sends Rhyno into the turn buckle post. Slater covers Rhyno and tries to steal the pin with his foot on the ropes for leverage, but gets busted by the referee. Rhyno hits the Gore on Slater and scores the pinfall.
Winner: Rhyno, by pinfall.

- Backstage, Bray Wyatt says that an Army of Sheep led by a Wolf will defeat an Army of Wolves led by a Sheep and encourages Erick Rowan to do what he does best tonight and destroy.

- Carmella vs. Nattie Neidhart: The match closes out with Nattie applying an abdominal stretch submission on Carmella and then lands a series of knees into Carmella's gut. Nattie lands a near fall discus lariat on Carmella. Nattie goes for the Sharpshooter submission, but Carmella counters, applies the Code Of Silence submission and makes Nattie tap out.
Winner: Carmella, by submission.

- Backstage, Shane McMahon and Daniel Bryan decide to give Heath Slater a job. Heath Slater busts in the office not knowing he has a job and tells Shane and Bryan that now he has to tell his seven kids he has no job. Slater says Smackdown Live doesn't deserve him so he's leaving.

- Backstage, Baron Corbin jumps Kalisto and beats him down. Corbin says that that was for costing him a shot at the WWE Intercontinental Championship.

- Dean Ambrose and Dolph Ziggler vs. Bray Wyatt and Erick Rowan: The match closes out with Ziggler hitting a DDT on Rowan for a near fall. Ziggler goes for the super kick, but Rowan counters with a spinning heel kick for a near fall. Ziggler hits the Zig Zag on Rowan, but Bray stops the pinfall. Ambrose tosses Bray outside and hits a suicide dive on Bray. Ziggler counters an exploder suplex and hits a super kick on Rowan to score the pinfall. After the match, Ambrose grabs Ziggler and plants Ziggler with the Dirty Deeds to end the show.
Winners: Dean Ambrose and Dolph Ziggler, by pinfall.
